Since i come here one weekend a month, two weeks out of the year, let me say firstly..
"Dear Soldiers of Fort Irwin, don't give up. Soon, after another rotation at the NTC, you'll get your block leave and you'll no longer have to sip on Big Brother's beer. Leave to Vegas. Hell, drive on down to Ktown, LA and if you see me, just say hello and I'll buy you real beer. Put in a request to leave that place and hopefully, you'll get Korea, Germany, Egypt, or any other damned place than that hell hole which is so close to civilization but so far from it."
NOW, to the "class 6"
It's not a class 6. It's the only places on post that sells KEGS. The deposit for the keg pump costs as much as the keg itself. Be READY to fork over 150 as a deposit when you get that pump soulja boy. The vendor comes every "Tuesday" or whenever he feels like visiting the arm pit of So-Cal to restock on their generic yucky no BEER lover likes MGD/Coors/Bud.
This means, try to get the order in before Tuesday so you can make sure you have beer on Friday. Unless your COC loves messing with you guys after you've ordered 6 kegs and sends you to the field over the weekend for hands across America or picking up UXO at Gary Owen.
If the vendor only carried decent beer, I wouldn't feel so bad for you guys. After you order your beer, just have another huge container and buttloads of ice so that the keg can be cooled down in that hellhole of a 100+ F weather.
If you don't want the kegs, they got mini-kegs that taste much better than those choices listed above. I saw Newcastle and Nastykin there.
The people working there are civilians and military spouses/brats. Generally VERY nice and friendly.
As I've said before.. keep motivated read more
