For decades, I have only been buying my books at the Friends of the Library bookstores around the country. The money goes to support the library. The community donates their books, most of them brand new and hardbound. This is the BEST Friends Bookstore I have ever seen. I come to Branson several times a year, and I load up on books. I buy bags and bags of them here. It is an enormous room full of bookshelves. They are well organized and categorized for easy perusal. Nowhere on earth can you beat these prices!

It's got a section for teenagers and a large section for children in the basement that will make children feel like they've visited a special place, just for them. The staff was able to help us make library cards, which is easy, as long as you have copy of your ID on you and we were able to try out the computers and explore the books and find our first 3 (Limited to 3 the first time you check out, but 10 or 20 after that) books and are excited to read them and return them, so we can revisit and check out from this library again. This place is absolutely worth checking out and they also provide a lot of community activities you can get involved in and have a neat walking trail out front with statues of animals we want to walk down when the weather warms up.

This is a multi-million dollar library was built through donations. It's gorgeous. It looks like a museum. My visit started out fine. A kind employee helped me locate a pencil sharpener. However, around…read more4:30 pm today, an EMS crew with a stretcher hovered around a woman sitting at a computer. She hadn't been bothering anyone, making sounds, or causing any issues. She was just sitting there. They proceeded to ask her questions about how she was feeling, what day it was, etc. She was talking coherently but the three EMS employees and a library employee had her circled for at least 15 minutes after taking her vitals and wouldn't leave her alone. Obviously I don't know what happened. But I saw them wheel her into the ambulance. Beware if you're having an off day, or act a little eccentric. You may end up taking a thousands-of-dollars little ride if you don't answer questions to someone else's liking. Disturbing and uncalled for.

I recently moved to the area and was amazed to discover that my new local library just happens to be the best library I've ever been to. The selection of books is excellent and the children's section is wonderful. But they go above and beyond in so many areas; They have a great selection of the normal fare movies, audio books, and magazines. But you can also play and check out board games, graphic novels, telescopes, and fishing rods. They have a teen area. Study areas. A bookstore, where you can find great prices. And they have a cafe. Visit and support this gem of a library!

The library is spacious and well designed with a dedicated teen area and there's also a children's library and a separate reading "room". For those who need them, there are plenty of computers throughout. I love the library and so far, have been to libraries in 6 different states and I'm so impressed and pleased with Springfield's library designs, so much valuable space for public use and all of the programs offered.

The Brentwood Branch Library is a nice fit for folks (like my mom) who do not want to use the huge branches like The Station or The Center. Even though it is smaller, it has a good selection of children's books, a children's reading program and a decent number of computers for public use. There are a lot of people in our community who depend on the library's public access computers. There's free Wi-Fi and numerous tables to work from. The employees are also very knowledgeable and eager to assist. I gave only 4 stars because the resources are less than some of the larger libraries in Springfield. Truly - I'm a fan!
