We were referred to John and Susie in November of 2018 to help sell our home in Burbank, CA. Our situation was unique, as we had moved out of our home in order to complete a remodel, but ultimately the remodel fell through. In response to the remodel not moving forward, my wife and I decided it was in our best interest to sell the home and move to another city (Thousand Oaks, CA) in order to purchase a larger home for our growing family. Time was a concern, because we were expecting our second child in May of 2019. After reaching out to Susie and John at the end of November, they immediately got work the next day in providing guidance on the selling process, pricing, and suggested touch-ups to help present our Burbank home prior to listing. Once we agreed upon the touch-ups and pricing, Susie and John handled everything! They coordinated and managed painting, workmen, power washing, staging etc. prior to listing. Susie even went into the city to check on/obtain permits in order to maximize value. It was such a burden relief to have them handle all of these items on our behalf. And best of all, the house looked amazing when they were done. It was hard for us not to move back-in when we saw the final product! John and Susie handled all of the showings and managed all possible buyers. Our home was listed around the holidays, and John and Susie worked throughout this time at the expense of their own family in order to meet our time constraint of needing to sell and buy a home immediately. Within approximately 2 weeks of listing we had a buyer--and at asking price! This was quite the feat considering the housing market and buyers during this time of the year. As expected, the close was smooth, and they provided expert guidance during the entire process. They were great intermediaries between ourselves and the buyers, and always put our interest first. In the same vein as the sale of our home, the buying process was a delight. Susie and John located prospective homes based on our wants/needs and budget, and were always available to see homes were interested in. We must have looked at 10-20 homes over a 2 week period at the beginning of the year, and they were patient with us when none of the homes were exactly right; the market was stale at this time of the year. By the end of January, the perfect home hit the market, and we were in escrow within 3 days of the home's listing. Again, John and Susie handled everything in relation to the negotiations during the close of our purchase, and they coordinated and managed all inspections, termites, plumbers, electricians etc. on our behalf. To make things more complicated, we had to close within 12 days at the seller's request--and Susie and John pulled it off without an issue. Even after closing, Susie and John coordinated any work that we needed to have done prior to move-in as a result of our inspection. I am sure that I am forgetting some of the amazing service we received from John and Susie, but the bottom line is that they are wonderful to work with. There wasn't a touch point in the process that wasn't made easier by their vast knowledge and customer service. They recently sold our home for way over the asking price setting a new record in our old neighborhood and found us the house of our dreams in this crazy market while masterfully navigating a multiple offers scenario. And did I mention this all took place during a pandemic? A few years ago we met Susie and John when they sold our neighbor's house. The longer version is, Susie and John are not only the greatest realtors in Los Angeles, but some of the most amazing PEOPLE we've met since moving out to LA almost a decade ago. My wife and I were looking for our first house and were referred to Susie and John by a work friend. We told them our max budget and after meeting with us and getting to know who we were, what we did professionally and what we were looking for, they subtly gave their input and steered us in the right direction when looking at properties. As first time home buyers, we were clueless. Their tireless efforts in our search was absolutely phenomenal. Coming from the westside, my wife and I were used to an "Us vs. Them" mentality; that every single deal had a winner and a loser. To our shock and delight, Susie and John of Forrest properties showed us another way to buy a house. A process that was easy, communicative, supportive, and y'know what?.... fun! From the moment we met Susie at the open house, we were charmed by her warm nature and very attentive style. We had a few places to see that day but we made sure to return to Susie's listing. There was no trepidation on our part working with her as the listing agent due to the professionalism she displayed that day. With our offer submitted the night of the open house, all we could do was wait - but we didn't wait long! Knowing their clients well, Susie got us an acceptance in one day. Escrow can be a terrifying time - not so with these agents. Susie and John arrived for all the inspections with a carafe of coffee in tow, set up the appointments for contractors to give quotes, and met them at the house when I couldn't be around. Susie was in CONSTANT communication with us through the entire process. More importantly, the financial contingency of escrow can be the most difficult aspect to deal with. Having experience with my lender on my first house, all I had to do was indicate to Susie that we had to move before Memorial Day, and she was like a shark in the water. Lo and behold, my lender seemed to be perfectly fine with dragging behind, pushing our close all the way through the weekend and past Memorial Day - a full 5 days later than our stipulated 30 day escrow. When it looked like the bank was giving up on hitting our close date, Susie sprung into action. I've NEVER seen someone hold more people (2 people at escrow and 2 at the bank) to task in such a firm yet professional way as Susie did as we entered the home stretch. Just when I thought we were going to hit the weekend, Susie's hourly emails and phone calls to the lender and escrow literally saved the day. We closed on time and were able to move in over the long weekend. Driven by a sense of duty to her clients, there is NOTHING Susie won't do to come through for you. We're settled now and in love with our home, and will wholeheartedly recommend Forrest Properties to ALL of our friends buying in the Valley.
