Forn J. Monserrat is the only bakery I know where scratch-made bread meets authenticity, history, and family. This bakery has definitely been around for at least a century and the original family still runs and manages it. The experience of visiting something so authentic made me feel special. I was invited to try some tiny chocolate dipped croissants by the sweetest and kindest soul, Sandra. The tiny warm croissants just melted in my mouth. They were amazing! Besides that, the family sells several other varieties of scratch-made breads with recipes that have literally been handed down over the years! Authenticity is invaluable, and you can see that every year when the lines wrap around the building and down the street during Kings day for their authentic king's bread (Rosca de Reyes). Also their bread can be perfectly paired with cured meat. I definitely recommend anyone give this place a visit! read more
