I popped in as i needed a puncture repair and was just round the corner. The car park was empty and there was one car in the workshop, the technicians were all in the Snap-On tool van outside.
I asked if there was a change of having a while you wait puncture repair only to be told they had no one available unless i left the car for 2 hours. I asked if i could just arrange to come back in 2 hours but was told if i did i would still have to leave the car for 2 hours as 'we can't just take people off jobs mate'. Remember there was only one car in the whole workshop!
Giving one final try i asked if someone could at least look at the nail in my tyre and tell me if they could repair it or if it was too near to the edge, again i was told 'we aint got time mate'! So no time to spend 30 seconds to tell me if they could repair it, or to spend 10 minutes actually repairing it.
Having myself worked from apprentice to Master Technician level with a major manufacturer, to service manager and finally onto working directly for a manufacturer at head office it really annoys me that this attitude still exists in the trade giving garages a bad name.
Luckily the next garage i pulled into were welcoming and repaired the tyre while i waited - what a difference a mile makes! read more
