As a family court judge, this attorney awarded custody of my children to my ex wife after the court…read moreappointed psychiatrist warned that she was unfit. Sure enough she abandoned the kids a month later and I raised them anyway. During the court proceedings he berated me and threatened to throw me in jail because my lawyer had another case. My ex wife did not show up that day because she was not feeling well and he told her attorney(SI local lawyer) to offer his best wishes. If this attorney actions are in anyway similar to those of his actions as a judge, he has no integrity. Kids turned out to be mature and respectable adults while the woman who was awarded custody by this man lived a life as a drug addict. Thanks Ralph!

I can say for over 25 years. I am using his services for a house purchase. So far he and his assistant in the office have been very good in following up and making sure that I am on track for the process. The price for his services are decent and reasonable I suppose. This is considering he is located in Chinatown and services the Chinese community for immigration and real estate services. Since I haven't completed my purchase and services with him, I will follow up and update this review at a later date. UPDATE!!! ---3/16/2012 So at the day of the closing that was scheduled for 11AM, he was late. I was there by myself while all the sellers and their attorney was there with them early and on time. My attorney probably arrived at like 11:20AM. He settled down and pulled out some papers and looked at the paper work that was already on the conference room table. Then, he starts asking me to sign everything and initial all the pages and explains everything to me in short. Anyways, he tells me I have to write additional checks and it makes me sad that I had to pay more on top of what I already paid. And in the end, he explains what I need to do after the close, like call the electric and gas companies to change the address and service over to my name. It was an okay experience. I just wish he was there on time!

That's right -- not ONE, not TWO, not THREE, not FOUR, not FIVE, but SIX WEEKS. I could have gotten a default judgment. My understanding, although not a NJ lawyer, is that this case management failure is malpractice. Damages are obviously another issue, but a cut and dry case of malpractice nonetheless. 2) Fees: They quoted $1,500, took that amount as a retainer, and charged me another $1900 on top of that. The additional fee might be warranted for competent legal counsel, however please see points 1 and 3. 3) Client communication: They did not communicate that they would be billing me an additional amount. When I asked them a fairly simple question about whether I needed a form, they responded with "I don't know" and billed me $50 for the pleasure of having them read that email, $50 for them to research that answer of pure legal genius, and $50 for responding to my email. It was a question that they should have known. 4) Firing them: When I tried to tell them I didn't want them to represent me, they continued to contact me and bill me, again for this distinct pleasure. My husband's lawyer (Corinne M. DeStefano) did a much better job in a much more timely manner for a much better rate.
