I cannot say enough good things about this rescue!! I found my forever furry friend! I submitted my application and within 2-3 days I was approved. My puppy was available for pickup 2 days later but I had to wait a day due to a prior engagement on my part. The process was super streamlined! I was able to meet him, play with him, no pressure if I was unsure but I was sold instantly! They were extremely thorough with the paperwork and my obligations as an adopter. I took him to the vet the next day and my vet said he was in perfect health! Clean, cute and happy. He was up to date on all of his vaccinations within his age, just in need of couple of boosters. I adopted two puppies from this group on 12/31/22. I paid a spay/neuter deposit for each puppy to ensure I would get them fixed. This fee was to be refunded to me upon proof of the procedure. I had the puppies fixed and sent the required paperwork in April 2023. It is now almost December 2023 and I have received no $$$...nothing but excuses, and now they are not even responding to my emails. If you adopt from this group, I would not expect to see your "deposit" back. Communication with this group is only by email and is not consistent...and apparently, my check is still in the mail. read more

Also would give a zero. So many similarities between these earlier reviews for my case too. Adopted 2 puppies (7 weeks old) Jan 2023 and they had constant diarrhea from the minute I picked them up. After many weeks of good vet care and $$ I got them healthy. When it came time to get my money back for getting them spayed in May/June (the $100 per dog they were supposed to be holding) I got the run around. Finally, it was in October after many emails, I sent another email to them that I was not going to donate this money that they then ghosted me. PS- you cant reach them by phone and the addresses they have under their non-profit "permit" wouldn't/couldn't accept mail. Read the many other similar stories (Theresa R in 11/27/23, Diane S in 12/19/2020, LSF in 1/18/2022). With all the good county animal shelters this small private adoption group should be off everyone's list. I had to put a star before I could post this. I would give them a 0. My girlfriend and I adopted two beautiful puppies . When we arrived the place looked BAD upon entering the place it smelled pretty bad. They had some many car scented trees to mask the odor. They had no running water or a bathroom. The dogs were stacked in carry kennel boxes on top of each other. if a pup was to poop or pee how would they clean them. we went through all the paperwork for the adoption and played with them both. In speaking to one of the handlers we asked about any mix ups giving the wrong puppy out. He said yea and they now check them before they leave. we got them to their forever home and my girlfriend had everything and I mean everything for new puppies Within a day or two both dogs had severe diarrhea and vomiting. We immediately contacted the agency and they said " oh it's probably just nerves. the next day after us doing our best to make them feel at home my girlfriend decided to take them to the vet. They were both diagnosed with Parvovirus and coccidia. Ou vet gave them medications and fluids to help them. my girlfriend stayed up with them and I assisted in holding them to give them medicine and fluid. 22 January 22 Draco was getting worse and succumbed to Parvovirus in the early hour. His brother Delaney was laying on him and i be he was comforting his brother in his last moments of life. If I could give this rescue zero stars, I would. I adopted a puppy from them on December 13th. The following day, she fell ill, and I took her to the vet. She had giardia, was underweight, and had fleas. My puppy continued to deteriorate quickly. The rescues only offer was to return her and get my adoption fee back. My son's and I had just lost our other dog three weeks prior because she was tragically hit by a car. We had had so much trauma, and this puppy was hope. I set up a GoFundMe and donations came in. I was able to admit her to a Veterinary hospital for treatment. Pretty much all of the communication I had from the rescue was questions about how I had treated/fed the puppy, what the treatment was, and them demanding medical records. It seemed.to me like they were trying to place blame or CYA When they emailed me one morning asking for an update on her condition, I emailed them back that I had updated her GoFundMe page, and then added more details about how she was doing. They responded that they did not need / want to look at a GoFundMe page. I asked if they would donate her adoption fee, which was $350, to her treatment. They refused. They said that I had had the opportunity to return her. When, after 3 days in the hospital, she had a seizure and was not going to make it, I emailed the rescue. Their response was, "Make sure to send us the medical record." No "I'm sorry", no "I know this is terrible for your family". No compassion whatsoever. I have friends that work for other rescues, and they told me that the standard is to at least donate the adoption fee toward treatment, and most rescues will assist with treatment costs. The mission of most rescues is to save animals. Forgotten Tails Rescue's mission is to take your money. DO NOT ADOPT FROM THIS RESCUE! She spent 36 hours in my home before being hospitalized. Her total vet bill was $3350, and they refused to help in any way except to offer return her (before she was hospitalized) and get the fee back. She was cared for the best way possible by my family because when we adopt, our pets are family, never to be "returned". read more

Last night, I received an email from Forgotten Tails that my dog application had been accepted! I was sooo excited. I quickly emailed back to express my excitement. The management team informed me that the specific dog I was interested in was not available; however, there were siblings available. I told her that was perfect! She responded to my email with my appointment time: Monday, May 11th at 2:30 pm. I confirmed that I would be there. On my way, I stopped and bought the dog carrier as required then made my way to their facility. Upon arrival, there was no one there. I sat in my car and waited. Finally, their car pulls up to mine. I walked to the front door to be let in. The owner came around and asked me how I could he help me. I informed him that I had a 2:30 pm appointment. We walked to the back of the building where his wife (presumably) stood unloading dog crates into the building. I repeated to her that I had an appointment. Without looking at my email confirmation, immediately goes "an appointment for today? It must be a typo." I was initially shocked. I drove over two and a half hours to pick up my pup. She pulls up the email on her end and says "oh yeah. That's a typo." I said "well I've driven over two hours, is there any way I can any dogs today?" She responded "you can't--you won't. They're at the vet today." She then repeated "yup, a typo" I stood there shock for two reasons: first, I don't believe you write "Monday, May 11" as a typo. Perhaps, you may mix up the days and say "Tuesday, May 11th" or "Monday, May 12th." But she correctly noted the day of the week and the date. Further, she did not apologize nor was she remotely faxed that I would drive a total of 5 hours and not receive a dog. The lady did not even attempt to accommodate me or rectify the situation. This is beyond piss poor customer service. They should NOT be in the animal care business because every approved doggie home is an opportunity to place a dog, and for her to completely ignore that this dog would not be able to be placed but instead spend another night in a kennel clearly shows her character (or the lack thereof). Finally, I wouldn't have minded returning tomorrow; however, I have a prior obligation and she didn't even attempt to make sure I was locked in for tomorrow. If you are local, maybe they are a good place to look for a pet home; however, expect below subpar customer service and rude managers. AVOID IF POSSIBLE!!!!!! read more

0 stars if possible. our application got accepted but the pup we wanted wasn't available. they said they had her siblings instead, who looked similar? so we bought into it, and got one of them. the day of the adoption, we were stuck in a tiny no AC room with multiple other families and a great number of pups just running around. they all had very visible flea infestations. i was able to hold my pup as we waited, and the fleas were literally jumping onto me. our turn to fill out paperwork comes, and it turns out on their files that this pup isn't even the breed of his supposed sister. she was a rottweiler mix. he's a shepherd mix. no rottweiler (after a DNA test, mind you). we think okay fine, he's still cute, let's go with it. then we bring up the flea issue, and they say he's been treated with frontline spray, just wash him with dawn dish soap! kills them instantly! ... ????? good thing we took him straight to the vet, who confirmed he was so infested with fleas that his skin was irritated and dry to the pointing of smelling awful. he was also 3 months and 13 pounds, which is appalling for a german shepherd. these people also said that the $300 we paid included his neutering at the end of december/beginning of january, when he turns 6 months. we heard NOTHING until april, after we had already neutered him with our own vet at 6 months. these people are money-hungry liars and animal abusers. i've read countless articles of their dogs testing positive for various EASILY PREVENTABLE diseases like parvo and distemper. they wreak of malpractice. my own pup is still so afraid of people and sticks to us even despite constantly human and dog socialization. what does that say about this organization? so don't even think about these guys. read more
