The main entrance has a good selection of plants & baby apple trees for sale. Inside facilities They have public toilets that comes in handy for those long journeys. Tesco now have their own cafe's in some of the newer larger stores, l decided to order something to go from here and it was cheap and pretty good value for money, a southern fried chicken wrap with fries was just short of £5. The main store also sells a selection of clothing as well as the usual items that they generally sell.

Outside there is a petrol station and there is also toilets inside the store, near the entrance there is a grab & go section for the meal deals & daily news papers. In the main store there is everything from household to electrical goods you could literally spend hours here shopping.

Do the math, that's 4x as much as we pay and Diesel is almost 12x what we pay. Still, this was the least expensive place to fill up in Carlisle, UK. There is a great seleciton of products in store, well laid out, and with plenty of space in the aisles, so you can stop to have a conversation without the risk of blocking the entire aisle! I can highly recommend the salad bar both for choice available, and value for money, and the fresh flowers last ages. The fresh meat counter is very reasonably priced too for some great cuts. The staff are very helpful and the queues aren't normally too bad. If they start to back up, there's normally another till opened very quickly.

Staff can be very offhand, as can the customers. Stuff disappears off the shelf never to be stocked again, and they don't want to get it in for you. A friend of mine had a bag break just as he was leaving, with 2 small kids in tow. Stuff scattered all over the floor, not one customer or staff member helped him. Shame

They have a good range of fresh fruit and veg, and the wine selection is quite extensive. There are often some good offers on the wine and beers if you buy more than one bottle. In the chilled cabinet at the back of the shop there is a lot of different cheeses and cold meats which are handy for packed lunches. They also do bread and rolls and I have been known to nip here for them when we run out during a barbecue. They also sell tobacco and you can top up your mobile, gascard and electric card here. The staff are really nice and if you want a carrier bag you have to ask for one.

If you're a member, you get a dividend in the form of vouchers, so it's worth joining and it's free. Co-op is one of the few ethical supermarkets, which cares about where its food comes from. Good place to get Fairtrade coffee, sugar and fruit.

They do a really good range of wines and have really good offers on beers. The shop is very small which makes it difficult to get in with a buggy but if you shout through the door they will come and serve you there which is great service. The grocery items are quite limited but they tend to stock things you are most likely to run out of late at night. They do potatoes and eggs which are form a local farmer. There is a paypoint aswell so you can get gas and electric, they do all forms of mobile top ups and they also accept healthy start vouchers so you can pick up some fresh cow's milk. You can get greetings cards aswell which are really well priced. Parking is just on the street but there are always spaces. A fab, local, family run shop.
