The massage was ok, but the spa music was playing on Sarah's phone and her phone kept buzzing, interrupting the music...not the most professional. I also did not appreciate her making comments about my body. I get it might be a cultural thing but saying I am "so skinny! You must be less than XXX pounds!" I am sad to be making a review like this but I'll be honest about my experience given I had rated…read moreit a five stars before. So this is the 3rd time I tend to schedule an appointment with a specific person and at a certain time and every time I go I am paired with someone else. I would say it's fine but then I don't understand why on their website it would have me choose a specific person if they don't pay attention to that. Today I went in with a 9am appointment and once again didn't get the person I requested as they were working with someone else. I decided to continue with the person they placed. I picked a deep pink mauve color. When the person brings the color it's the one I selected on the chart yet when he puts the color on it's a yellow brown and I communicate is this the right color as it does not match the tag on the bottle either. The first coat looks yellow brown he insists it's the right color and I need to wait for more coats of color. I decided fine let me wait for the end result as he is done with all the coats. During the prep of my nails there are certain cuts he makes so I bleed obviously and still proceeds to use the nail paint brush even tho it just touched some blood which I thought wasn't sanitary for whoever will use that color next. As he applies the coats the color definite does not look like anything I picked. He takes some color off and reapplies the coats on several fingers and at this point my hands have been in and out of the machine like 8 times. Because of this I have some fingers that are not the same color. For example my ring finger looks darker brown and the rest yellow brown. Then by the end he tries fixing the end of where he applied nail polish and is way too harsh with the nail filer that he creates a cut. Over all my experience was not great and even tho I communicate the color wasn't it I just felt like there was no accommodation or realizing that yeah the bottle is labeled wrong.

They had a package with infrared sauna, Korean body scrub and massage. The sauna my partner was not ready for, nor the body scrub. He doesn't like extreme heat in saunas. They left us in there for close to an hour and came back and apologized in broken English, like they forgot we were there. Then they told us to get into these elevated bath tubs. That's the best way to describe them. They had foam mats on the bottom, and it looked like jet sprays on the side. Well, they told us to get in, face down, with our heads sticking out the fronts. Not super comfortable in any way, including getting in an awkward position in front of these ladies. So the water was between cold and very hot. It was Dove body wash, nothing special. They scrubbed us head to toe around five times. Asked why we were there, and I said it's his birthday. They asked his name and sang happy birthday. Very funny. Then came the massage. I had to use the restroom. This is where I was really disappointed. It was pretty dang dirty. Not just kinda. Like, dirt. Everywhere in the bathroom. So now I'm headed back for this massage, and I am worried about the cleanliness. The massage consisted of each small woman climbing onto our backs and using their elbows and knees. She put me into a bow position (those in yoga know what I mean.) Remember, we have no clothes on; it was very, very uncomfortable. She kept saying wow, you're flexible. They tried making conversation, but it was stilted English. I was trying to give back some conversation to be polite, and my lady literally just walked away from me while I was mid-sentence. Actually walked out of the room. I wanted to laugh with my partner, but he was putting himself into a self-induced meditative state to avoid the awkwardness of the whole thing. I definitely would not go back. I felt a lot of pain the next day. My lady was rubbing my feet, and hit a nerve of some type, and commented, hmmm. what is this? And I kept saying, yeah, that hurts. Until finally I had to yank my foot away and say, THAT HURTS. It's in a strip mall. You get what you pay for.

They used axe body wash along with the exfoliating treatment, which was overwhelming in its artificial man-scent, and sort of a confusing choice for a spa. The staff did not help get a relaxing vibe. Two women got in a verbal fight about how much to charge us at checkout. They also generally rushed us from one space to the next without much gentleness. It was what it was, and sort of the kind of experience that's fun to recount at a dinner party, but I didn't feel pampered whatsoever.

I don't look as tired with them on. I was happy my girl, Gina was able to fit me in her schedule on a recent visit to Minnesota. She does a phenomenal job. I've been with a few different locations, Woodbury, Vadnais Heights, Eagan and now with Roseville. My most recent encounter was with the Manager of the Roseville location, I did not get her name, nor did she tell me her name when I asked for the manager (Phone interaction). I had a pass that was for 9 waxes, and then they had a promotion going on two months ago (June) for the unlimited pass. This is what I really do not like about EWC, they push the front staff to up sale so they will withhold important information just to make the sale, or mislead you to make the sale. I was advised, my unlimited pass would start after I finished my current pass, so I went ahead with the purchase. I finally finished my last wax for my 9-pass last weekend 8/16. When I asked the front staff when my new pass would start the gave me a date of Aug 20. It didn't make sense to me, since I wouldn't be in for at least another 3 weeks, so I'm basically losing a month. The manager wasn't in so then I called later on in the week. When I call the manager told me the pass starts when I bought it. Again, this is not what I was told. She then continued to tell me my 9-wax pass was completed in June when I bought the unlimited pass, which was not accurate. So, that tells me she really didn't look at my account before trying to get assist me and really just wanted to get me off the phone. She then said that I was correct and my last visit was 8/16 so she'll change my new pass to start 8/17. Again, how is this fair to me that I would be losing a month? Had I known it was going to start the day I made the purchase I wouldn't purchase the pass until I needed it. She then put me on hold and came back and said it was company policy that they couldn't change the start date, but she was going to do it this one time for me (as if it was my fault that they did a poor job providing the proper information). Then she continued to tell me that my pass for the 9 visit never expires and that I could've saved it and started using my unlimited pass right away. She did not like that I pushed back and stated that it should've been communicated to me at the time of the purchase. It was just upsetting for me because there was no accountability taken and she basically blamed me and acted like she was doing me a favor for the misinformation given. I've heard numerous stories from esthetician about how terrible the leadership and the management is with the company. I truly feel bad for them. I loved every esthetician that I had, I switched locations just to follow certain esthetician. This is really just more information to get all the details before making any purchases, the front will be pushy but that's because they have to be.

Today was my second visit with my wax specialist, Sara. She's warm, personable and knows her stuff. She had a shadow with her last month but today she was by herself. At both appts she did a mini consult (eyebrows) to make sure what I wanted with my shape. We have a game plan going forward to grow them out. Before and after treatment I was handed a mirror to point out areas that need attention and also to approve the final results. Waxing is not completely pain free but it's way more bearable compared to waxing at a hair salon. I typically use powder to fill in my brows. She showed me new products they offer to help with fly away hairs (eyebrow gel). They also offer baby powder and calming cream after your waxing service. After I was done, I was escorted back to the lobby to get preappointed and potentally leave gratuity. Making an appt is easy by phone or app. I purchase a service package and preappt for $$ perks. I get billed in 3 installments for Buy 9, Get 3 free...and then I'm good for the year. I get text confirmations and appt reminders. Due to covid, they prefer that you text when you arrive and wait in your car until your wax specialist is available. The facility is clean and modern. White walls/ floors with pops of red and black. Each room is similar. There is a stool, shelf and hook in the corner to place your belongings. There is a long table to lay on, with paper liner for cleanliness between clients. Even though it's a flat table, I find it relaxing to just lie back and close my eyes and get pampered.
