I had the owner give me an estimate for another bathroom remodel since he was already there. He said it would be approximately $600. So, now I finally have the new vanity in my possession and called them to schedule the job. The lady in the office (Heather) told me that they now refuse any jobs less than $1,000. They wouldn't honor the original quote by itself, even though the owner of the company provided it while standing in my home. Against my better judgment, I asked them to come out and provide an estimate for some other work I know I want to get done...just so I can get the bathroom done. They only provide quotes on Monday-Friday, so I had to schedule the appointment between 3-3:30 pm on Martin Luther King, Jr. day. 3:00 comes, 4:00 comes, 5:00 comes, NO JAMAL. Finally, at 5:08 pm, I called and spoke with Heather regarding the situation. She appeared very surprised that he hadn't shown up and advised me she would call me back. When she called back, she said she had gotten in touch with Jamal and his car had (conveniently) broken down. The owner of the company never bothered calling a customer who has a paying history with his company AND who they're now attempting to strong-arm into authorizing a job in excess of $1,000. So Heather asked me if I wanted to reschedule and I informed her that I work during the week. The only reason I was able to schedule them on Monday was because I was off for the MLK holiday and that scenario wouldn't reoccur until the end of May (Memorial Day). Heather said she understood and was surprised and appreciative that I wasn't yelling and/or cursing at her given the situation. She admitted that she probably wouldn't have the sane self-restraint. She said she would call Jamal to see if he would just do the bathroom for the ~$600 he quoted me given the fact that they caused me to waste half the day. As you can probably tell by this review, I have not heard from Heather nor anyone else at Plano Home Remodeling since that conversation. I very strongly encourage anyone to do business elsewhere. If a contractor does a no-call, no-show for an estimate, what do you think he's going to do on a job? I wouldn't recommend finding out!

Would not recommend Copper Tree Roofing & Construction. They came out and looked at replacing my…read moreroof on a rental property I own that was damaged by hail in 2019. They sent me an estimate which I thought was a little high. Then they said they needed $11,000 down as a deposit! I have had two other roofs replaced on other property and both times not a dime was requested as a deposit. I spoke with several people in the business and they said they have never heard of a company asking that much for a deposit and warned me against doing business with them. To make matters worse, I had another roofer go over to give me an estimate and he sent me back a photo of Copper Tree's yard sign they had placed in my front yard. I had never authorized them to put their sign in my yard and I was pretty upset to say the least. I had told them I was not going to use them to replace my roof and yet they put their sign in my yard because they new I did not live at the property and probably wouldn't know about it - a very sneaky and underhanded thing to do. So I called owner Jeff and told him to go over to my house the same day and remove his unauthorized yard sign. He started arguing with me and said he would not remove it and became very belligerent with me. He was being vindictive because I had told them I was not going to use his company to replace the roof. Be aware that Texas is one of the few states that do not require roofers to be licensed so you really have to be careful when hiring a roofer in Texas. And really be suspicious when they ask for a large deposit up front (like $11k). I found Epik on yelp while searching for a general contractor to renovate our kitchen, remove a load bearing wall separating the kitchen from the living room and to update our original brick fireplace. Epik was our second estimate that we had received out of a total of four different companies. What really separated Epik from the others was how thorough Monty, the project manager, was throughout just the introduction phase. He followed up with us daily sending updated plans based on our conversations, sent over other pictures of different materials we could choose from, etc. This was BEFORE we even signed a contract. We gave Monty our budget and he stuck with it and let us know if we were choosing options that were not originally within the estimate and provided us with the updated estimate when we chose to continue. We met Shawn and Brittney, the owners of the company shortly after demo. Brittney from that part on became a vital part of our renovation ensuring all work was up to their high expectations and always communicating with us and identifying if any mistakes were made within the crew's work and corrected any issues thoroughly. We began our renovations shortly after construction was considered an essential job during COVID in May. Of course with the expected delays from COVID and just when doing any renovation it took some time longer than expected but the results were 100% worth it with the completion being end of June. Monty ensured that after every days work the crew cleaned up and vacuumed so we were not living in a huge dust trap. As you can see I can go on and on about the amazing job Epik performed. We had Chad as our service person and he was great. He had a wonderful personality, went beyond just doing the minimum to get it done, and completed the job with a smile on his face.
