I had the pleasure of adding a trail ride to my experience with Forest View Farms. We had a reservation, checked in, and had a bit of a wait for the return of the previous trail ride group. Once they were back, we were assisted with mounting our horses. My horse, Dakota, was just the right size for me, and responded well to my instructions (it was quite a few years since I last rode a horse!) Trail guide Amanda was patient and knowledgeable, giving us tips for how to ride safely and effectively. Our ride through a local Forest Preserve trail was fun and peaceful, and lasted about an hour. This was a fun experience!

The ranch was badly kept and it was horse poop everywhere which meant the flies were out of cute control. They flew in my car had flies attacking us trying to get out of there. Also my horse was too old to riding and he was slow didn't trot. He also kept stopping and running me into trees. It was overpriced for the quality of the ranch. We also had to pull the pony ourselves. Not impressed wouldn't recommend. I only gave 2 stars because my kids enjoyed it.

We just had a family Trail Ride at Forest View Farms. Six of us and our trail guide, Sarah, set out on the beautiful paths of the adjacent Forest Preserve. We ranged in age from 10 to 77, and the ride was a first experience for two of our grandchildren. It was a very pleasant experience! Forest View Farms is a working farm. The ubiquitous staff keeps everything running smoothly...and there is a lot going on. Pony Rides, Petting Zoo, Trail Rides and Private Lessons keep the large staff constantly busy. Be aware that as a working farm with animals, you will have flies, and their working farm cats are evident as they do their jobs! The bathrooms are...well...'outhousy', and that did cost a star in my review. Our horses were patient and gentle. We did our best to make them proud! Our trail guide, Sarah, was so good! Her guidance and commentary were professional and entertaining. We would recommend Forest View Farms for your Trail Riding experience!

Came here on a Saturday morning for an 11:45 group ride reservation. Check in was a little confusing and it took us a while to figure out who even worked there. Once the ride started though, it was worth the $30/person! It was a small group, five of us altogether with two guides. Fell in love with my horse Dallas, who was particularly calm and well behaved. The trail is about two miles long and weaves through both the forest and along the highway. I would definitely come back for more rides in the future and maybe try out one of their private rides for only $10 more!

Poor goats in petting zoo! Over crowded!!!

Took my daughter here for her birthday. Bought her a pony ride. It was reasonably priced at $10 for 15 minutes. Was given the pony and basically sent off on our own with no guidance for the entire ride - which I actually did not mind. The reason I'm leaving this review with so little stars is because of the condition of the farm. The "petting zoo" area was absolutely depressing!!! The animals were kept in a shaded barn in gated sectioned areas that were horrifically overcrowded!!! The goats and sheep were literally so jam-packed into their areas it was sad!!! I don't know how often they are taken out of those areas to stretch their legs (if ever) but omg, what a sad and depressing sight to see!! The little pigs were also kept in a small, dark, dirty corner in the barn. I felt bad for the animals. I get it's a barn but the conditions of it were atrociously filthy and unkept. Have some pride in your business and the animals you keep! Especially considering it's open to the public why wouldn't you?! I have no real opinion on the staff, in fact I can't say too much about them as they weren't particularly rude or overly nice. They were neutral and bland if anything. Did I feel welcome or like a valued customer, however? No. The horse-barn where the horses are kept was actually disgusting! Poor things. Ceilings were COVERED in yuck. Maintenance of this place needs some SERIOUS work. Sad.

This is my first time at a farm with horseback riding and a petting zoo. I loved the experience even though I'm not the biggest fan of nature and farms. The horse backing ride was through a nature preserve. Our instructor was super friendly and nice. It was enjoyable since it was only 5 people plus the instructor on the route. The path was about an hour long. It was super relaxing. I'm sad that the petting zoo only had big animals. Although all were super cute. The person who takes care of these animals was super friendly and funny. She would tell us the backstory of some of the animals. I would definitely come back. Super affordable for new experiences. Paying with cash is $3 cheaper. Petting zoo is $3. Horseback riding is $25.

    Dirty and small

The petting zoo is small, dirty, and they only let you stay there 30 minutes. You have to make a reservation. It is hard to enjoy it because the are so many flies and mosquitoes. Will not recommend or be going back.

Don't take care of their horses or other animals!! The horses are over crowded in small areas not brushed before ridden. Saddle kept on long periods of time. Hooves are over grown. Animals cramped in!

A reliable non-kid source who was present also told me the kids are rushed around. I don't get it. This camp is supposed to be fun. Kids don't move as fast, especially the younger kids. Why do you have to rush them around everywhere? They also had weekly field trips which was nice. The would go to the Palos pool sometimes, went to Lincoln Park zoo one time, another time went to Beverly Art Center. That was nice. I just don't get why the kids who are wearing back packs, carrying water bottle and their lunch are being told to walk faster. You don't need to rush kids on to the next thing. Connect with them, and encourage them to the next thing. You should really make time accommodations knowing the younger kids especially, will move slower. My kids were stressed out about this part. Not sure why the people in charge facilitate this "move faster" approach. Also, I wish they would reapply sunblock. These kids are outside marching around on often 90 degree hot summer days, could we maybe actually re-apply the sunblock? I give it 2.5 stars.

The whole facility is very new , very clean , and very pleasant. Four stars here - why? There is a Charter Fitness less than half a block away. The membership fee there is half of the "full" membership cost here. Based on the attendance I witnessed here today; 5 assumed full members using the machines and three people walking, and at least 4 staff members, there is NO WAY that this facility generates enough money to be self supporting. That means that MY property tax pays for this! So, enjoy, everyone!

PLEASE BE AWARE AND BE CAREFUL!!!!! PROTECT YOUR BABIES!!!…read more my daughter started at COA end of February. I went over expectations, dietary restrictions, etc. my daughter literally cried hysterically and ran every single day. I thought it was because she just needed to get acclimated. however there were a multitude of children crying as well, which was also a red flag to me. they originally indicated that they had space in the age appropriate classroom for her, but instead put her in the classroom under her age bracket. for weeks I inquired about her being moved to the director Tyra and continued to get the run around. a situation happened where i picked my baby up and she stated that her teacher Ms. Jada Hit her. I was so angry but held my composure and just handled the matter in the most cordial way that I could. they stated they would do a investigation however the camera system does not record (also a red flag) the director Ms. Tyra stated that she would just go ahead and Finally just move my child to the proper classroom. ( up until the incident there was no urgency in putting her in the correct room btw) now my daughter is coming home constantly with very loose stools and going very often. I couldn't figure out what was going on. when finally I dropped her off during breakfast time and observed the teacher giving my child Dairy milk which she has bad reactions to. i confronted her and she stated she didn't know and I proceeded to remind her of all the occasions that myself and my 3 year old gave reminders. the information is in her paperwork, I reminded the teacher myself when she first started (even provided oat milk) also the teacher stated that my daughter even reminded her. she laughed it off I WAS FLOORED!!!! my daughter has been sick since she started the daycare with no breaks. 5/19 I received a call from the assistant director Tasha who stated my daughter is crying and stating her arm is hurt and she can't move it. I asked what happened. the director said they didn't know. so I told her that they needed to figure it out before I got there. I get to COA and my daughter is I. the lobby holding her arm and crying. I asked her what happened and she stated that her friend hurt her arm. I asked the director if she could ask the teacher to take my daughter to the back to show her which friend she was speaking of and the teacher comes out and the first thing she states rude, unprofessional and condescending is "AINT NOBODY HIT HER" her name was Ms. Robbin. I could have lost my mind at that point. I called the police to do a report and the officer informed me that I needed to remove my child asap and call DCFS i told him that is the exact plan. I took my daughter to the ER and while I was there the daycare called DCFS on me stating that I hurt my daughters arm all because th heard me tell the officer that I was calling. that next day I receive a 1,200 dollar bill when i had absolutely no balance at all. please I'm begging you. for the safety and best interest of your children do not send them here! the tour process will go smoothly but in the end it won't be a great choice there is so much more but I just outliNed the major concerns

What I love most about this place is their staff, their level of care, patience, and attentiveness goes far beyond what we could have hoped for. Its rare to find a place that combines such high standards with genuine heart, but Penny lane (Oak Lawn) does exactly that. We are incredibly fortunate to have found them and would recommend them wholeheartedly to any parent looking for exceptional care. I currently, have 3 of my kids enrolled there. 2 of them in daycare and 1 in their before and after school care. We also leverage their summer camp program. We love Penny Lane, Oak Lawn!

Hi @Melissa penny lanes business director,…read more Since I can't reply back to your comment on my review I'll just write it here. Nothing, I wrote is inaccurate information. I totally understand that these reviews are very important for penny lanes business. This is why I took the time to write out the review. For parents seeking child care for their children and wanting to make the best decision. Actually, some of the things that you stated in your reply was very inaccurate such as my reason to leave the daycare. We left due to having so many incidents occur and the lack of incidents reports being made and also lack of accountability. Most of the time my daughter was sent home from daycare with cuts and bruises. Teachers were unable to explain what happened due to them "not being around" or "leaving early for the day" so she was left in the care of substitute teacher and no one in the daycare could find whichever "substitute teacher "was in the class in at the time to explain the constant injuries. Also, on August 11th I was called into penny lanes due to my child having a busted lip and chipped tooth. I expressed my concerns to the director of the daycare Ms.Laura she responded back to me and let me know if I wanted my child to not have so many incidents I needed a nanny. Which I was completely token back by. I understand things happen in a daycare but as a director for that to be the response back to a concern parent is very insensitive. Also, to double back to the abrupt departure. Laura allow us to leave without putting in the 2 week notice due to not us moving but me being so uncomfortable with my child being enrolled under you guys care second longer. Her last day was that Thursday morning November 6th due to another unreported incident. My daughter was enrolled in for a year. I have never once received a weekly paper meal plan in advance. My child was there 5 days a week and 8-8.5 hrs a day. So I understand that health and safety is the utmost importance but it's seems like the ball was dropped multiple times with my child. Also, is always a lack of accountability. This is not the blame game. If I'm paying for a good quality daycare I expect the best quality health and safety for my child. I left the review for parents to understand that penny lanes daycare of oak lawn does not provide this experience for each and every child. Also, if you need for me to provide any proof I can. Thank you. -Brianna Boyce
