Before I went in today I had read some negative reviews from my fellow reviewers, all I can say is my experience was beyond STELLAR!!! Erica, the receptionist Who is sweet and jovial signed me in "she made me feel at ease by laughing at corny jokes " and was very professional and at the same time light hearted. I so sorry that I forgot the RNs and nurses aides names as they were so nice and showed me nothing but care and kindness. A couple things they did for me was give me an EKG before my surgery and they gave me a pair of anti blood clot pumps for my legs to take home "see pictures" One reviewer wrote that nurses rushed them out of there to early after the receiving anesthesia. Not the case with me, they woke me up and asked if I needed more time, the nurse even asked if I felt nauseous to which I replied yes to both." Her response was how much time do you think you will need? I said 20 min. Her response "no problem" I actually stayed an extra 40 minutes!! As I was Super nauseous and the nurse did all kinds of things to help me get over that "blowing cold air on me and putting a cold compress on my neck which really helped" Bottom line: if you are wondering or unsure about Forest Surgery center, I personally would not bat an eye to use them again. THANK YOU FOREST SURGERY CENTER YOU WERE SUCH A BLESSING, FROM THE FATHER TO ME

Clean, lots of accessible parking, friendly staff, and skilled doctors- now that's what I call a winner. Originally referred to this clinic by Dr. Fung, my mom recently underwent cataracts surgery at this venue. She was so nervous...bless her little heart. Blame her elevated nerves on her silly daughter, but I accidentally drove her to the wrong hospital across the street. Luckily, I made her tell me a funny story, and she forgot her fear. Upon entering, I noticed we were headed to the second floor. Luckily for her, we jumped on the elevator and entered a lobby that resembled some kinda plastic surgery office in Beverly Hills(minus the plastics.) We were greeted with smiles, beautiful hard wood floors, a flat screen TV's, beautiful flowers, and comfy sofa's. Receptionist was very friendly and she put us at ease. Putting my mother at ease was the the them of the day. Everyone kept complementing her pink socks, and that calmed her down. She was petrified by surgery, but luckily everyone reassured her and made her feel better. I translated for her...and they took her away. Hour later, I was called with a "surgery is over, and your mom did great!" Big sigh of relief. When I arrived, my mom looked like Martin Scorsese with big glasses. The staff loaded her in a wheel chair, and walked us down to the car. Everyone was great...and I highly recommend this facility. Very nice people make nerves truly go away!

The lady starts yelling at me over the phone telling me the call is recorded and that I am not allowed to take the call from chicago (while i reside in ca). I thought this was really unprofessional. She told me next availability is 4 months from today. She also told me they TRACK WHERE I AM DURING THESE VIDEO VISITS. I thought this was so inappropriate. Isn't this a VIOLATION of my privacy??? She then transferred me to my doctors office. My doctor told me she can see me on Thursday with no issues while I take the call before my work trip.

I was absolutely floored at the efficiency (I've been to ERs where the wait is hours). To be fair, we arrived on a Sunday afternoon so maybe things were a bit slower? All of the staff were very friendly, kind, and attentive. They went out of their way to ensure we were cared for and received proper care. So why the one star off? Our son's splint was put on a little too tight which involved some discomfort and required us to go back a second time to have it readjusted. That situation wasn't ideal but thepediatric staff member met us at the entrance to immediately escort us in for re-treatment. I totally understand these things happen. If we ever need emergency services in the future, this is the place we'd go.

We didn't know much about Natividad Hospital, but what we had heard about was not good. She has Medicare, and because she has had some health issues over the years, we purchased the best Medicare Supplement available and can go to any hospital we want. But because we live closer to Natividad, the firemen told us that they had to take her to Natividad. At the time, we didn't know how serious her injury from her fall was, but she was definitely in a lot of pain and knew she needed to go to a hospital. I went to the ER to see her that night. They were still taking X-rays, etc. to determine what was wrong. When I left after about an hour and a half, I still didn't know what her injury was. I went back in the morning and was informed that she had broken her hip, and they would be having surgery that afternoon. When I left the hospital, I didn't know what was going to be done. My wife has had four back surgeries over the years all performed by Dr. Gus Halamandaris. We didn't pick his name out of a hat to have him do the initial surgery on her back. It was based on recommendations we had received on him and after meeting with him to discuss the surgery he was going to perform on her. This was not the case at Natividad. And because this was an emergency, there was not time for us to go shopping for a surgeon, and we understand that. Had it been a surgery because of a degenerative nature, and had time, we certainly would have and had the surgery performed and chosen a different hospital to have it done. I didn't even know the name of the surgeon who would be performing the surgery on my wife, much less what was going to be done. She was scheduled to go into surgery at 2 pm. I called at 5:30 and was told that her surgery had been delayed and that she had just gone into to surgery. I called again at 8:30 to see if she was out of surgery and was told that she was still in surgery and I was assured that I would get a call when she was out of surgery. I never got that call. I finally called again at 9:30 and was told she was out of surgery and would be transferred to a room. After each of the four surgeries Dr. Halmandaris performed on my wife, he would come and see me if I was at the hospital or call me at home to let me know how the surgery went. When I left the hospital the following day, I still didn't even know her surgeons' name or exactly what had been done. It wasn't until two days later that we were told by a nurse that she had a partial hip replacement. After a short stay in the hospital, my wife was transferred to the Sam Karas Acute Rehab Center, which is on the same site as the hospital. But that is a separate story. After she was released from the Rehab Center, we had to return to the hospital to meet with her surgeon for a follow up. We were told to be there by 9:15, which we were. We didn't meet with her surgeon until almost 3 hours later. After he went over her operation, he said he wanted us to return in about a month for another checkup. I told him that we wouldn't be returning and that we would go to another orthopedic surgeon who has in private practice for any future follow ups. There is no way we were going to spend 3 hours waiting to see a doctor we had an appointment with; plus the distance we had to traverse from the parking lot to where we had to go to me with him. He told us that we didn't have to do that and we could just go to our family doctor for any follow ups. As far as her stay in the hospital, we were relatively satisfied with it other than the food is absolutely horrible. Fortunately, she didn't have much of an appetite. I have been a strong proponent of universal healthcare because I believe it should be a right to have access to have medical care. However, if this an example of what universal healthcare looks like, I may have to reevaluate that opinion. It should be better than this.

I have an auto immune disease that sometimes causes my inflammatory markers to skyrocket and this will cause me so much pain, beyond what I can control at home. That's exactly what happened last week. I knew I was in trouble and needed to get to the ER fast. My husband got us there quickly and I checked in. I was taken to the triage area for my vitals. Luckily I'm in their system. And most of my Doctors are connected with El Camino because they are a part of Sutter Health. So the hospital knows my health history. The waiting area was packed with sick people. I'm thinking, this is going to be a long and painful wait. I was called back to see the Dr. within a few minutes, which was surprisingly quick. They got me a wheelchair and took me back. All of my joints were hurting so bad that it hurt to walk. I explained everything to Dr. Tsai. I appreciated that he listened to me and took the time to ask important questions. I told him I was supposed to get labs done tomorrow for my metabolic panel because I wasn't feeling well and I told him that the way I was feeling probably meant my inflammatory markers, ESR and C-reactive protein were probably very high. He told me he would order all those tests immediately and start me off with pain pills first and then progress to stronger IV meds if the pills didn't work. I also mentioned to him that the new medication that I have been taking for this problem has not been working very well and my rheumatologist was trying to get prior authorization to increase the dose of that new medication. That's why my pain had gotten out of hand. I was sent back to the waiting area, again, to wait to get my labs done. I was again called back within a few minutes. I was taken back for the bloodwork. Then taken to a private patient room, where I could lay down in a bed and get my IV started. I met the nurses that would be taking care of me. I let them know that it's hard finding my veins. I appreciated that the nurse believed me and got a vein finder to help with finding a vein. She was able to find one that was deeper, in my arm, but it was a good vein. She got the IV started. Her patience with getting my IV started was awesome. A lot of times nurses don't believe me when I tell them I'm a hard stick. She was wonderful and did an amazing job with my IV. Since the pills didn't work for my pain, we moved on to stronger IV pain medication. I was also felling nauseated from the pain. They didn't hesitate to give me nausea medication, right away. As it turned out, my inflammatory markers were extraordinarily high. They gave me the best pain management over the next several hours and didn't discharge me until my pain was under control and I was more relaxed and calm. Pain like that is horrible. I want to give a huge thank you to Dr. Tsai and nurses for listening to me and my pain concerns and doing everything they could to stabilize me. I have followed up with my doctors and am on a new medication regimen to help with the inflammation. I am finally feeling better. The medical team here, treated me with respect and dignity. Everyone was very professional and kind. I am grateful to the medical team that took care of me that day. The waiting room appeared to be cold (55F), crowded, and noisy, with patients, visitors, and families sharing the same space. Although signs promoting a "Healing Hush" environment were posted, the noise level and overall environment did not seem conducive to someone experiencing significant pain. Additionally, does the Emergency Department have designated spaces for patients with varying levels of clinical conditions? Patients with severe pain, limited mobility, or obvious distress may benefit from a separate observation or treatment area rather than remaining in a busy public waiting room. Another concern involved the urine specimen that had already been collected. We were later informed that the specimen could not be located and were asked to provide another sample. For a patient experiencing severe abdominal pain, this was both difficult and frustrating. The request felt abrupt and added unnecessary inconvenience and distress during an already challenging situation. This prolonged our wait in the ED While I understand that emergency departments often face high patient volumes and must prioritize patients based on clinical urgency, patients who are visibly suffering deserve greater comfort, privacy, timely reassessment, and better coordination of care. My intention in providing this feedback is not to criticize the staff, who work under challenging conditions, but to better understand the process and encourage improvements that prioritize patient dignity, comfort, safety, and the overall patient experience. Id like to indicate this in the patient survey too
