You'll probably be working with a woman named Linda during the application process, she's very easy to talk to and incredibly proactive. Couldn't be happier, the place isn't huge but it's all we need and very comfortable. Long version: my girlfriend and I are a younger couple, she's 26 and i'm about to turn 27. We wanted somewhere safe, cozy and quiet, where we'd be happy for years and someday may even raise a child. Because of this, i had to think about quite a few aspects before moving. 1. Brunswick is in the top 80% safest Ohio cities. Our building comes with a primary front lock, and our apartment has a lock as well. Double security to sleep even better at night. We see school busses dropping off children all the time, and everyone in the community strongly adheres to school speed limits and other subtle but noticeable details compared to other cities i've lived in. 2. The price. Seriously, i thought it was too good to be true. If you made it this far, chances are you might be looking for a verification of authenticity, so here it is. 3. Linda (the primary person you'll be working with during the application process) is fantastic. She responds quick, promptly takes care of any concerns and is overall just a very good person. Left us a gift basket and everything with some genuine thought behind the small gifts. 4. The apartment is the epitome of simplicity. It's small but not too small, very cozy, and above all everything met and exceeded my standards down to the high pressure shower head with numerous settings and blinds that automatically pull down or up without an annoying string. 5. Woodgate Village is located on a side street off a main street, so everything we need is minutes away. Food, gas, you name it. If you're someone who's looking for a peaceful, secure and quiet place to stay, look no further. Update: been living here over four years now and still have no complaints. Got very lucky finding this place during the inflation bubble of apartments and greedy landlords. Whoever owns and operates these apartments must be a genuinely good person interested in providing fair pricing and not gouging every cent like other places. Can't be happier here.

I will be moving out in March 2020 because I am moving into a home, otherwise, I would be glad to remain here at Woodgate Village. I will miss living here. For one thing, the property manager (Linda) and the maintenance supervisor (Ed) are a great team who run this complex extremely well. For example, whenever I have had an occasional maintenance issue, the matter has been resolved promptly and professionally. Ed is obviously a skilled & knowledgeable maintenance technician, and is easy to talk with. Likewise, whenever I have had a question about something, I just send an e-mail to Linda, and have typically received a courteous, informative reply later the same day or next morning. It is obvious that Linda and Ed care about managing this property well, and want to keep their tenants happy. Besides that, I like the location. Basically, everything I need is within 2 miles, including grocery stores, restaurants, the gym I belong to, gas stations, car wash, library, post office, the high school which my son attends, etc. Everything is nearby. Also, I have been fortunate to have good neighbors here. Over the years, I have seen a few people come & go, and most everyone has been nice. I've gained some new friends since living here, plus it's very quiet around here, which I love. Woodgate Village is not the kind of place where a bunch of loud, partying kids rent. In fact, those type of tenants would not last very long here. The typical tenants here are either divorced/single adults or young couples starting out in their first place together. And, it's a very quiet place, even on the weekends... no loud music or people yelling at each other, and it's very rare that you see police being called here, etc. This has been a calm, friendly environment to call home. Bottom line: I have been very happy here, and highly recommend it to others.

The reason they may give is they "just want the unit back" so they can overcharge one of you reading this review** To get the 1 star out of the way - it's for the pool. It's clean and usually quiet and they open it early in the season and close it late in the season. The other reason for the 1 star is 1 person -  Ben Boyd. In the 4 years my boyfriend and I lived there he harassed us both, specifically targeting me by directing all his communications to me. I'm SURE he will comment on this review and make an excuse or place blame on us or personally attack me (he's the one responding to all the reviews, bringing up personal details of individuals because they left an honest yet negative review. If that doesn't speak to the type of person he is, just keep reading!) I could write a book about our time here, but here are the highlights: - Threatened to remove my emotional support animal due to him not getting the signed ORIGINAL letter from my therapist he insisted on during COVID when the mail system was a mess. - Left multiple notes on our door stating we didn't clean up after our dog when there were literal bags of poop outside to be thrown away when he left the notes. Admittedly we were lazy when we first got our dog. But one mention to be better at picking up after him and we immediately made that change. But the notes and accusations continued. - We had literal sewer water leaking into our living room and the solution was to cut a gaping hole in the wall, leave it for a week while drying off the sewer water soaked carpet by blowing a fan INTO our apartment. We ended up getting a fly infestation and I had to ASK for a carpet replacement...they were going to tack it back down once it dried. - We went through 3 dishwashers, 3 fridges and 2 stoves in our short 4 years. - We got an "official notice" saying the office had been made aware (by someone unnamed) that we had a second dog that was above the weight limit, we didn't pick up after, we didn't pay for, we didn't keep on a leash and was aggressive. They had ZERO proof, because there was in fact NO second dog, and chose to issue an official notice anyway. When we confronted him about the blatant harassment and completely false accusations, Ben actually THREATENED my boyfriend saying "you don't want to make me an enemy..." and when my boyfriend asked if that was a threat, he simply reiterated that we didn't want to make him an enemy. Our only assumption as to why he targeted us was because my boyfriend is black. None of our requests were beyond the standard duties of a decent leasing company, but we were treated like we were the problem. - Our 3rd dishwasher leaked sometimes and got underneath the cheap ass laminate flooring and they chose not to fix it. - We had to BEG to have them look at the black mold in our laundry room. They tried to tell me it was because the dryer vent was backed up. Turns out the toilet upstairs was leaking. Again. - Ben cowardly left a notice to terminate our lease taped to our door one day saying we needed to be out by the end of the following month. There were people that had lived there for 7+ years that were sad to see us go. They didn't get asked to leave. Our direct neighbor (who had only lasted a year) also moved out. So if they wanted a unit so badly, why didn't they just use hers? The answer is obvious...Benny Boy bided his time and then finally followed through on that threat he made. The real kicker? His management was well aware of his mistreatment toward us and chose to do nothing. I've heard horror stories of Ben treating other residents poorly, specifically women, kicking a single mom out for false noise complaints, making people wait days for their AC to be fixed when it's 90 out... I would never suggest anyone move here. If you do move in, you may have a great experience if you're white or old and don't care for cheap appliances. Just whatever you do, don't make the big bad tough-guy Ben angry.

She has transformed the maintenance team and front office staff into individuals that really take pride in their work. People always like to blame others when the pool goes down, or there is a water shut off. We had similar problems when we lived in our house, truly no one's fault. Wendy also worked diligently to get us our money back when there was an overcharge for the gas bill several months ago. This resulted in a complete refund of the over charge. We think people need to get their facts right before they share untruths in a review.

The owners and maintenance are top notch, at your beconed call 24-7, they are like family . . . everyone in the building knows each other, warm "family" feel, not to mention the "coziness" of the apartments. The area has everything within walking distance including grocery, drugstores, etc. The neighborhood is like when you were little (i'm 65) . . . overrun with kids, dogs, strollers, young and old, well into the evening, have never felt safer. Not to mention the family social activities always advertised in the area. Thornton pool/park right around the corner (can walk there) . . . beautiful olympic pool with baby/tots areas as well. Hope you choose this as your first apartment, will we happy you did. Would break my heart to leave this "gem" of an apartment, hope I never have to!

We were not allowed to tour our apartment until 2 days before our move in date. We have a shared garage unit and as you can see by the picture it's mostly trash. They said that this was a garage, not a storage unit because you have a storage unit included in your apartment. They said this was going to be cleaned up which it wasn't. When me moved into our apartment it wasn't even move in ready. The window is broke and still broke no updates on when they're going to fix it. The flooring and the carpet are both coming apart. We have a 10 month old baby and my boyfriend was almost physically attacked by a lady who literally was having a manic episode. Management did not reach out to us to apologize or let the other tenants know that the crazy lady still lives and is living in our building. Unfortunately, we're stuck here. So let me save you the trouble and run. Way too much money we're spending every month for the amount of issues we're dealing with. Absolutely ridiculous.

I love the community feel you get at Sturbridge. Pricing is very reasonable for everything you are…read moregetting. There are so many great amenities that come along with it. They have been remodeling all their units too so if you're going to be a new tenant you are getting a newly renovated unit. There is a big fenced in dog park. And the hot tub is indoor so it is open year round! The clubhouse was also fully remodeled last year, so it's all new and beautiful. There's even a dog wash station in the clubhouse! They are really good about cleaning their amenities which is so nice because I have lived in many apartments growing up and I would never set foot in their pools. But the pool, hot tub and gym at Sturbridge are always cleaned and maintained. Everyone in the office and the maintenance team are all so amazing and helpful. Turn around time for a maintenance request is usually quick and done if not the same day then the very next day. I loved all the attention to detail from the staff when it came to decorating for the holidays! I only left because I got married and I am moving out of the country. I do miss living at Sturbridge and highly recommend anyone looking for an apartment to check them out and take a tour!
