Called to schedule top coat the following season and he raised the price 30% stating his costs have gone up. When I called on the phone to discuss he was rude, short, and hung up on me. Sorry but costs don't go up 30% a season later. Other reviews I read prior to signing up stated that that the owner was not good to deal with when it came to fixing mistakes or problems. I can definitely see how that would be true as well as screwing with people on agreed upon prices if the job is split up into a base and top coat.

While doing the removal and regrading, Mr. Allen commented that the asphalt was thicker in some areas than others requiring more aggregate to correct grade. There was no mention of the amount of additional cost. Final payment was made at the time of finish coat completion. To my surprise, an invoice with the line item "Extras" of over 12% additional over the original bid was received. There was no explanation of "Extras" provided with the invoice. While the quality of the job was certainly satisfactory, the business practices of Mr. Allen and his company were deceptive in the fact that cost overruns were not fully explained at the time the job was underway.
