Aaaaamazing!!! This…read morepark checks every box. Walkable, bike friendly, and perfect for a solid run. The trail is paved and lined with mile markers, which I always appreciate. Each bridge has clear street signs and access points with stairs or exits, so you can hop on or off wherever you need. There are also location markers along the trail, (for emergency purposes )which is great for safety in such a large park. Playgrounds are scattered throughout, and there is even a basketball court tucked under a bridge with really cool graffiti that gives it some personality. The park is clean. Like noticeably clean. Restrooms are mostly portable, but many are enclosed in small structures so they blend in better and are not an eyesore. And yes, they were clean. You will find kayaking launch areas, fishing spots, picnic tables, and benches everywhere. There is plenty of space to spread out without feeling isolated. It is not overcrowded, but you are not alone either. The crowd felt easygoing, and cyclists were respectful. I felt completely safe the entire time. There are multiple paths to switch things up, plus a few shorter gravel routes if you want a change of pace. I even spotted e bike stations along the way. Honestly, this park sits right in the heart of Fort Worth and makes it feel like you do not even need a car in this part of DFW. One of the best runs I have had in a while.

The best kept secret in Arlington! If you haven't been, you need to go! It's a beautiful park for…read moreeveryone. There's a small park, picnic tables, lots of shade, ducks roaming and you can go fishing or canoeing in the Lake. The crowd is filled with a mixture of everything. Families grilling, dogs all around, teens hanging, families playing volleyball, people witnessing. Lots of fishing going on. Summer time was definitely alive. The crowd stays all the way til dusk too. Also, they have really nice restrooms! It's a big brick building that has the Men's and Women's Restrooms beside each other. The Women's Rest Room was clean but, a little stuffy. There were two stalls. One was small and a little messy and the other was large without a door? Soap dispenser was filled and hot water was available too! My one suggestion would be, the path should lead to the R.R, instead of having to walk through the grass. The trails were alot smaller than I expected. They we're simple and surrounded the lake. The Park is also secured by the Police. If your family member has not returned from the lake after dusk, for more than forty-five minutes. The police will go looking for them. If your looking for a place for a family outing, I would suggest coming here. It's fun and safe!

A beautiful small park right off lake Arlington. The "trail" is only about 0.3 miles but you can…read morejust keep going in circles. There is plenty of benches and tables. A great space to put a picnic blanket out. And there is a play ground. (I didn't check how good it was but from afar it looked in great shape.) The waters beautiful. You can dock a boat or take your kayaks or pattle boats out, we saw some people do that. And there's great amount of shade. There is also plenty of birds around, which sound beautiful, however just beware, we did get popped on.

Needed to take a mental health day, so I headed out onto the open road not really sure where I…read morewanted to go. Then I remembered to check out Tandy Hills Natural Area. As usual, I didn't come prepared with anything more than one bottle of water. If you come out here, please bring a canteen or Camelbak. Anyway, I was very impressed with the city's investment in the area. The wildflower section was beautiful, and the trails were very well marked. In fact, I traversed the trails for about half an hour before walking back to the vehicle. There is a playground area for the children. I will most definitely come back out here again.

Tandy Hills is one of those hidden treasures in Fort Worth. You can see it from I-30, but you need…read moreto know what you're looking for and where. And you also need to know how to get there, it's not well advertised. And maybe it's a good thing that it's not well advertised. I'm a visitor, so I can't give a lot of info about usage. But it's hidden away, with no parking lot (lots of street parking), and a normal sign. I'd think that it's never too busy. "Natural area" describes land that has few improvements, just several trails and a few benches where there are good views. This is what you get at Tandy Hills. Having moved from the East Bay region of the SF Bay Area several years ago, this parkland reminds me of several regional parks, especially Carquinez Strait and Morgan Territory. Here's a big minus. This hidden treasure has other things that are hidden away: homeless encampments. When you explore off the established trail, and come across a weathered tent with a setup that makes it clear that someone has lived here for a while, that ruins the exploration. Reminds me too much of the rapidly-failing metro area I escaped from. Tandy Hills is a scenic place to get your exercise in and build some cardio going up and down the hills. If you're hosting a visitor who thinks that Texas is only cowboys, oil wells, and tumbleweeds, take them here.
