It seems the owner's wife is responsible for the baking but be wary if you have allergies; the bartender wasn't able to tell us what nuts were in the weekly cake. Very fun speakeasy vibe and the Tuesday trivia nights are a blast! Cocktails are a bit small but delicious and the food portions are generous.

It's been a long while since I have been here. Way back during pre-pandemic times during a Maine Beer Week. I really enjoyed it and would have likely given 5 stars had I reviewed back then. Maybe that is just me wearing rose colored glasses and thinking more positively than it was though. They have since expanded to have more food offerings than just cake and more drink options than just beer. I do believe it's an improvement to have more options and was a smart business move! This stop in the vibe just didn't feel the same leaning towards a negative way unfortunately. I was excited to give their cocktails a try and my wife got their French 75 while I got their Pickletini because I love pickles so why not! I suspect due to how similar the drinks are, the bartender garnished the wrong drink with the pickles so that was a bit off initially for the French 75. It was a simple fix though. So overall, I still appreciate the decor and ambiance despite the vibe being a little weaker now in my opinion. I would return to give their food a try and do believe it's a solid option for a bar especially if you want to avoid wharf street.

It's such a vibe for a late night drinking or grabbing a quick bite as they have such good food! They've made using the restroom fun as it's decorated with Polaroids from guests, and another funny item (you'll have to see for yourself) You need to get their espresso martini. The cold foam topping it off is the most delicious thing I've ever had.

Room for Improvement has been around for quite awhile at this point and I have heard nothing but positive about it. My wife and I finally made the time to come here and glad we did. With it being Halloween they have a special theme this week called Doom for Improvement so we thought it was the perfect time to visit! We showed up at opening for a spot to beat Halloween crowd on wharf street. I was reminded of Jager right away in the sense it felt familiar while also feeling new. They decked it out with Halloween decorations and bartenders were dressed up. We had Bojack Horseman serving us who was a top notch bartender, friendly, answered any questions and had good vibes! My wife tried their Pineapple Daiquiri and their Espresso Martini. I went with the Halloween themed drinks and got the Rest In Peeses that was a peanut butter (Reese's) themed Old Fashioned. Secondly I grabbed their Plenty Evil that was inspired by the Good & Plenty candy Absinthe Frappe. My wife's drinks were phenomenal and would both be go to orders for her and we both found a new favorite Espresso Martini. My first drink nailed the perfect mix of peanut butter flavor with a classic Old Fashioned. Secondly despite not being a huge licorice/good & plenty candy this drink was delicious! I look forward to returning for a non Halloween themed visit but we were both extremely impressed. If you are looking for a bar to grab drinks and want a nice and chill vibe this is your spot. Expect friendly bartenders who make high quality drinks!

I told him you never asked before I tried to walk in. I then apologized to him, and I tried to show him my ID. He told me he didn't want to look at it and told me to leave instead. I thought he was just a drunk customer joking around with me before he asked me for my ID, because he didn't identify himself before he grabbed me. I left right away because I didn't want any trouble. I went to Tomaso's Canteen right after and they treated me with dignity and respect. I had a great night at Tomaso's Canteen and the staff was really friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend people avoid Commercial Street Pub, considering there are better bars in the area nearby which will treat you with more respect than Commercial Street Pub.

Definitely has a relaxed, no-frills atmosphere that's worth checking out.
