It had been very difficult finding a therapist that I liked and actually helped with my muscle tightness or my soreness. However, this changed. This past week I made an appointment with Shannon and she was amazing. Deep tissue is never fun, one might add it hurts a bit sometimes but Shannon was amazing and worked her magic, I walked with a tight back and neck, I left feeling great. I slept very well that night too! This was by far the best massage I've gotten in years and I made sure to book my next appointment ahead with Shannon.

When I arrived, Marissa turned out to be a transgender female. While I don't have an issue with this, it would have been nice to know ahead of time. Also, she kept breathing very heavy, burping and blew the stinky breath into my face, and shaking the table which was disorienting. Also, she didn't lighten up when I asked her to change the pressure. Overall not a horrible experience, but as a long time customer with high standards for J. Sterling, I was disappointed. The masseuse for my full body massage was very polite, however it seemed like she was in a rush to get things done and massaged very quickly. I understand everyone prefers different speeds and pressure, but I was never asked and she was too fast/hard handed for my liking. She focused more on my face/jawline/head area, rather than my back and body(which I mentioned my back needed the most attention). After my massage, I was told to wait in the front lobby for my facial. I was then brought back to the facial room, the esthetician was nice and laid back. She told me upfront that my added on aromatherapy was just essential oils added to her wrists; so that add on was a huge waste. I smelt it when she first applied it to herself and then it disappeared. She also wore gloves during the entire facial, which caused the gloves to stick to my face and basically pull my skin. Not sure if that is a personal choice of hers or the business, but I've never had an esthetician wear them. The facial lasted less than the 50 minutes that were booked, with her leaving the room for almost 10 of those minutes during the facial. Once I was done, I began to walk out the front lobby. The employee sitting at the front desk rudely questioned if I had already paid. I responded yes, that my husband had booked the service and paid online. She stated she did not see any gratuity added and asked how I would like to add that today. Overall, the entire booking was not worth the money or my time. I immediately noticed neck pain and my face was extremely uncomfortable. It also didn't add to the already unpleasant experience when the front desk questioned the gratuity. But I do want to say both the masseuse and esthetician were friendly and nice. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this business to anyone, which is a huge disappointment.

I never usually get a guy and tend to go to the females for massage, but I said let's just give it a try. There was more kneading on the back massage. It didn't feel good, not because of the pressure but because it truly didn't feel like I got a massage after that, I felt like I've had better massages at other places. It seemed like I got a pressure point and basically staying at the same pressure point for 2 minutes at a time and I'm like hello where is the back rub part... My partner got hot stone on his back but I didn't. I also didn't get the best foot rub. If anything I'm going to get another massage somewhere else later today. As you walk in you are greeted by a rep that checks you in. You're then ushered to a waiting area for hair and makeup services or to the locker rooms and lounge if you are receiving spa services. The locker room was set up really nicely. Lockers were large, and included a lock and key. They provide robes and sandals. The sandals were surprisingly comfy but the robe was not plus size friendly! That was my only negative. They provide ample space to freshen up before or after your service, including a shower. And a lounge with teas and water to relax as you wait for your spa tech. My service: Body Ritual included a dry scrub with exfoliating gloves, followed by warm Shea butter, then she wraps you in the blankets to seal in the moisture. She then gives you a face massage and applies a face mask and then a foot massage with reflexology. It was very relaxing and my skin felt great! Key tip! Make sure you bring your own spa headband or scrunchie. I am used to my spa providing this but this one did not have anything to protect my hair. They have many specials right now and will be offering black Friday specials that I plan to take advantage of. Overall a great experience and I can't wait to try more of their services.
