Sorry for the inconvenience. Call us to change or cancel." Awesome. So I call this office, but their scheduling department is a call service who didn't know what was going on. It is nearly impossible to get ahold of someone in the actual office. I left a message on a machine at the actual clinic, a person eventually called back but I was in a meeting at work so couldn't answer. But they left a message with their extension to dial to reach them directly. Sounds good, right? Except I called 6 times over the rest of the day (including once maybe 5 minutes after they called me) and they never answered, and the "extension" numbers don't have a voicemail. The next day the Hampton office calls and again I don't answer because I was busy, and I get another extension that no one ever answers. Nice. But they also call my husband, and he does answer! Turns out, they had screwed up their doctor's schedule and decided to reschedule all of the patients to Hampton instead of the doctor to VA Beach, I guess. If we wanted to reschedule, it would be months of wait, again. Awesome. Anyway, despite him saying "we" would like to cancel, they only canceled his appointment. I guess they thought he was using the royal "we". So I called and left a message on their clinic's answering machine that I would like to cancel... and I'm still getting text messages this morning about my appointment in Hampton. I'm realizing now that I dodged a bullet, because no doctor is good enough to justify this level of incompetence and lack of care for their patients from the front of house.

It took a while for me to be checked in although there were 4 girls working behind the counter. Finally, they did and I was given some paperwork to fill out and wait to be called. I didn't wait longer than 3-5 minutes after that and was called back for the ultrasound with Lisa who was very nice and informative and happy to answer questions and give us feedback as she conducted the ultrasound. Afterwards, we spoke to Lisa the genetic counselor who went over all the various histories of our families and various things we might be screened for, etc. All in all - it was a good visit - I was walking out about an hour after arriving which is a win. Everyone was nice, and no major issues to report.

I had a medical care appointment and because I asked about previous services and possible treatment...I got charged a consult fee?! My entire appointment lasted less than 15 minutes. I get that providers deserve to be paid but it may be a nice gesture to inform a patient that asking questions will result in an additional fee. Who knew a Dr (PA actually) won't answer questions unless you schedule an appointment for consult?? I get that some patients could take advantage and ask all sorts of medical questions that are unrelated but maybe you use your judgement and bill accordingly?!?!! Ok-so $100 later (and VERY few minutes!!) , I get a call from the compound pharmacy requesting a fee ($65) to make the numbing cream but a trip SEVERAL hours later to CVS where they DONT have my prescription-I had to place a call to the office to find out why my scrip isn't there almost three hours later. I'm told by this office they are still seeing patients and I need to potentially wait 24 hours or more to get my medically necessary prescription?!?!!! WHAT?? So a compound/custom pharmacy gets the scrip for an elected procedure within minutes but the medically necessary scrip ....i need to wait until they've had time?? Everything about this appointment was just bad policy. Except the medically necessary appointment and scrip needs-I did get seen for that. Hopefully in the next few days I can actually pick up my scrip!! Looking for a dermatologist-anyone have a good one??

I am so glad I found a Dr that I trust with my face. My first appointment was last month, check in was a breeze, staff is friendly and they have Covid procedures in place. I had another follow up appointment today, Dr Mc Daniel and Ashley were just as great!!! The entire office is exceptionally clean including the bathroom. I was placed in a large consultation/treatment room where there was a giant air purifier which was nice. Ashley was great, she was his assistant and was very friendly and knowledgeable as well. I felt comfortable and confident in their care which is difficult to find around here in my experience. A friend of mine guided me to Skin Renaissance after she had to deal with my barrage of skin complaints. I'm not getting any younger and being a mom now leaves little time for self care, which is required now more than it used to be. My sweet friend kindly gifted me some credit to use and I stopped in last week. I had initially been considering botox, but thought it best to get an expert's opinion. I made an appointment with their NP, Suzanne. I arrived a little early to check in and complete forms. After completing paperwork, I was invited to get a beverage or snack while I waited. They offer hand sanitizer in many locations and everyone wore a mask through my entire visit. They took me back right at my appointment time - also appreciated. My first stop was the Visia skin analysis room where Suzanne and I chatted about my concerns and skin history - I spent most of my teen years in a tanning bed and have a lengthy history of melanoma and BCC, some of which have been removed from my face. The Visia was insightful and allowed Suzanne to make recommendations based on underlying damage and redness (thanks, genetics!). I learned that botox was the last thing I needed, go figure! She offered some really good recommendations, starting with a compound topical which is already providing results in under a week! She also consulted with Julie, the owner, who made the same recommendations. All together, they spent nearly an hour evaluating and chatting with me - it didn't cost me a dime - but it certainly put me at ease to seek future care with them. I am due to return for a follow up and continue treatment and am super happy to go back. I'm already grateful to Suzanne for helping me to feel better about my skin in such a short period of time.
