I had an appointment for a removal, and the staff was excellent! Although the person I booked the appointment with over the phone said my insurance wouldn't work with forefront, I booked it anyway, preparing to pay it if pocket. Thanks to the receptionist, I saved money when they told me my insurance provider is in fact an accepted partner! That saved me $120 on the appointment booking alone! The nurse brought me into a room immediately and it was only a few moments later Dr. Donnelly saw me. Both of them were SO nice, answered all my questions, and made me feel completely at ease. The whole appointment and procedure were done in less than 25 minutes and I was on my way. I would highly recommend Dr. Donnelly and Forefront for any kind of skin concerns. Thank you! read more

Forefront Dermatology is the worst! You can never see one of the actual Dermatologist. I have been going there for several years and have never seen a a real doctor. Only reason I went back is because I liked Brittany and she has left. You have to wait weeks and weeks for an appointment because they have one NP to see all their clients I guess. Go In For a visit that takes him 10 minutes to look at my entire body for skin cancer...I will SUE if the new Derm finds anything. Spoke to nurse about a CREAM I needed refilled and that horrible NP acting like a real doctor would not call it in. No one called me from Forefront. I had to call and ask about it then Days later they call me to say I have to come back in for an appointment. Pure greed!!! I was there 3 days earlier. So I tell them to speak to him again! It's a fricken cream and it's in my chart. They call back - don't tell me in a message they are not calling it in but make me call back and go thru 10 mins of holding then to tell me to take a picture and send it of my rash? Took my daughter here to have a wart removed on her foot. PA said they can laser it off but the laser is broke. She said they will call when it is fixed. 3 weeks later no call. Called office to see about laser, they told us that it is still not working and having a hard time getting parts, and more than likely they will not get them. Then they wanted to make another appt to see what other options they can do. I inquired what Dermatology office doesn't have a laser? Why not buy a new one? TERRIBLE! Do not go here unless you want a unexpected bill. They will bill you for lab services that you do not approve. Unethical treatment of patients in my view. Also, their current manager is not able to communicate with the public in an effective manner. AVOID THIS DERM if possible. Also, I now have a BIG SCAR that is very visible from the doctor digging into my skin. I've gone to this practice for years and loved it when it was owned and operated by Dr. Shidler, but now that is has been bought out by a company in Wisconsin, it is terrible to deal with and 10 times more expensive. Just like another reviewer said, I was charged $1400 for a mole removal and check, which had previously been around $200 when I'd had them done before. Then I only got a phone call with a very vague message from someone in a call center reading a chart in Wisconsin, not from the nurse at the practice, who used to call and be very informative, since she was part of the procedure and had personally talked to the doctor. It also takes forever waiting on the phone just to make an appointment. I had to wait a whole day for a call back, only to be told the doctor had no openings for a month. I really like Dr. Donnelly herself, and I would see her if she left this corporate practice, but definitely don't want to go to Forefront anymore. read more

I haven't done a Yelp! review in years but I had to step in here because 2 stars on average for Shideler Dermatology Group is crazy. I've been going for years- at least 15 years. I've had laser hair removal (when it first started), laser treatments for broken capillaries, botox, a mole removed by Dr. Shideler. Mostly, I usually see the skin technicians and everything has always been great. They are on time with my appointments, tell me exactly what they are going to do before and during the process and are very professional and personable. Karen is who I've gone to the most and she's the best. Andrea does the best botox. They even have a reward program. I live in Chicago and there are many, many places that offer these services but I wait until I'm visiting my hometown of Indy to go to Shideler Dermatology Group because that's how great the people and services are. read more

This office used to be wonderful, prior to Forefront taking over. I loved Dr. Shideler. Now it's all about money and minimal service. I was billed over $700 for an office visit and procedure a year after my appointment. Staff didn't care, wouldn't work with bill which was huge. The $700 was my portion. I have been paying slowly due to my unhappiness. Now I have tried 3 times to pay the last portion of the bill and the money continues to be refunded to my account, yet they want to send me to collections. So sad the the personal service and expertise of Dr. Shideler has left the building with his retirement. read more

I go to Forefront Dermatology in Batesville, IN. The care there I would rate as ok. The procedure for scheduling an appointment, however, is maddening. Very long wait times before even getting through to a scheduler. The scheduling is done from the corporate office, not locally. I know Forefront, both locally and nationally, is raking in many millions in profits. They could afford to hire people to answer the phone promptly and in person. Better yet, a receptionist at the local office who schedules for that office only. Our time as patients is worth something too. If there were any other dermatologist in town, I would certainly go there in hopes that I would be treated with more respect. read more

We have experienced terrible customer service-- unacceptably long holds on phone calls, calls not made though promised. My daughter had a skin sample taken at the back of her knee where the stitches broke a couple days later. Results of biopsy not reported days after tests completed. Extremely dissatisfied. read more

During an invasive procedure, the PA opened the door & left the room with the exam gloves on, only to return a few minutes later still gloved, and ready to move forward with the procedure. I asked if she was planning on changing gloves before she touched me... Only got an "Opps" for an answer... I hate to think of the germs that could have caused an infection. This is a GREAT dermatology center!! I have been to dermatologists all over the country. I have suffered from adult cystic acne for years. I have been on antibiotics, Accutane. I have tried everything, nothing worked. I made an appointment with Dr.Shideler and I found his office to be a refreshing and informative experience. He is very professional and specific. He listened to my medical history and all my concerns. I have a new found faith in modern doctors. They made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. They opened my mind and eyes to 'fixing' my skin problems. I feel hopeful that Dr. Shideler really does want to help people that suffer with skin problems. He did not try to sell me a new product line. He offered remediation's and alternatives to products I was currently using. This office does not pressure you make drastic changes to your life or wallet. The office is easy to locate. The office is nice, clean and welcoming. There is also plenty of parking. read more

Please don't waste your time at this dermatology office. They treat you like you are just one person and they have plenty of other business. I scheduled an appointment and explained that if they were performing any procedures that my insurance requires prior approval. Once I was in the office I asked once again that they were contacting my insurance company. They didn't reach out to my insurance company. I contacted the office 7 times and they kept transferring me to voice mail. I never received a call back. My last attempt I did speak with a receptionist which stated I am just one of many who are unsatisfied with them. This practice is a joke and I predict this office will soon be out of business. read more

Excellent experience with Forefront Dermatology. My daughter has met with Andrea for teenage acne. Andrea is always very knowledge and takes her time with my daughter, explaining course of action in just the right way for her as a teen and me as mother. Today, I met with Andrea for my own stubborn skin rash. She quickly diagnosed my issue which two other groups (with aestheticians and dermatologists on staff) misdiagnosed as cold sores. The other treatment suggestions were inappropriate, and Andrea now has me on the correct path. The service level with my experiences has been speedy, yet thorough and friendly. read more

I went in for a simple exam and saw a PA. She was nice, but then I felt that she charged for higher services than were performed and the bill was ridiculous to me for the services provided. When I originally called, I thought my appointment was going to be with Dr.Shideler. Once I arrived, I was told that I was with another doctor. She was fine, but was not as thorough as I would have liked. She prescribed me three medications and did not suggest anything else (facials, peels etc).The office also did not schedule me for a facial that I had confirmed with someone on the phone prior to my appointment. An esthetician was free and able to do my facial. She was new to the practice and was offering $50 specials. Sadly to say, this was one of the worst facials I've ever had. I would not recommend getting a facial here due to the lack of extractions and attention to detail, but the medication I was prescribed is working. read more

After waiting for a call back all day, I finally had to call the front office desk to talk to someone. Then not even the front office could communicate a simple question directly to the nurse so that someone could help me. After a long frustrating day of speaking with 3 different people just to finally get connected with the nurse, the office wouldn't call in a simple prescription refill for an ointment I needed before I left the country on a trip the next day. I have been going to Shideler Skin Care for 10 years. This group was actually one of the first in the area to have the latest and greatest procedures in skin care. The estheticians are top notch and my experience has been wonderful. My skin looks absolutely fabulous. From the minute you walk into the Skin Care Center, you are treated like a Queen. The girls are professional and a fun group. They know all the latest procedures and best products for various skin types. I can't say enough good things about the skin care group at Dr. Shideler's. If you haven't been there, you really need to try them instead of a local spa. Go where the professionals are! As far as Dr. Shideler and his staff - another A++++ - I can always get in his office within a week or so and never have to wait. His staff, nurses and physician's assistants are wonderful and all answer any questions I have. Beautiful CLEAN offices and no billing problems. My husband and I, along with our kids have been going to Dr. Shideler for 15 years or so and we highly recommend him. read more

We were patients and had received decent service and care for many years. Then the name was changed to Forefront Dermatology and we were assigned to a new doctor.What we were not told was that she did not belong to the same network as the other doctors previously used at this location. Our billing came back with no network discounts which had previously ranged from 50 to 70 %. After much discussion we were granted a discount much lower than before. I went to this physician for help with my keratosis pilaris due to being in network and proximity to my home. I will never return. The office staff was pleasant enough, but abrupt in how they treat patients. When I was finally taken back to see Dr. Shideler, he literally spent less than a minute examining me and speaking with me before he turned me over to a nurse. His manner was dismissive and disrespectful and was absolutely not worth my time or money. I would caution others from going to this office. read more

Loved this dermatologist office when it was still owned by Dr. Shideler but now that is was bought by Forefront, it is terrible. As a long time patient, I am put on hold for more than 10 mins every time I call. Left a message with the medical staff regarding current treatment. 4 days later I still had not heard back so I call them and they were nonchalantly telling me that the doctor did respond to my inquiry but no one thought to call and let ME know what the doctor said. Of course, the response was that I needed to make an appt to discuss further options. Not happy about that, they offered to leave the doctor another message but could not tell me when they would be able to call me back with yet another response from the doctor. I told them that it might be time for me to move on to another dermatologist and the person I was talking to simply said "that is definitely and option for you". Did not try to keep me as a patient so I will not be going back to this office again. They also rush you through appts and do not take the time to answer questions. I had been going to this facility for over 8 years...before it became Forefront Dermatology. When it was Dr Shilder facility, it was great. My recent experience left me feeling more like an ATM machine than a patient. I had 3 non suspicious moles removed that were an elected removal with no prior examination by the current staff. I specifically asked for no labs, as it was cosmetic. They told me they had to do labs and would not proceed until I signed their form allowing them to do so. I was under the impression it was mandated legally, so I signed and told them "bare minimum, to ensure it was legal". They ran tests that cost over $2000.00. I reached out to the billing office and after waiting over 6 weeks for a response, I called them again. A week later they called me back and refused to make any adjustment of bill. I am so disheartened by this experience. I cannot in good conscious recommend this facility to anyone. I felt they took advantage of me, misled me on the legality of the tests and I was nothing more than an ATM machine. read more

This is the first time I have written a review, as i dont neccessarily like giving negative comments. However, after visiting this group three times with an average wait time of 1 hour before seeing a doctor or medical assistant, I had too lay out my frustrations. After being put through a battery of tests and labs, their final conclusion was bug bites for the diagnosis. I am not so mad at the diagnosis as I am the fact that we wasted so much time and money ($500.00) to be told this diagnosis. I would hope that a dermatologist would be able to look at a bug bite and diagnosis immediately without repeat visits and a biopsy!! read more

I contacted this doctor (based upon word of mouth) to seek treatment for a wart on my foot. I had to go back multiple times and it still has not been removed. I received full charge bills for each and every follow up visit, in spite the fact that they were unsuccessful in treating me. When I attempted to contact the office to discuss the bill I received, I was sent to a private billing company. After talking to them, they couldn't help me. So they suggested I contact the doctors office. I did so and they forwarded me back to the billing center. At that time I requested that they have someone in the doctors office contact me back to discuss this outrageous billing and 10 days later I just received a "Blow Off" letter that states all treatments and billings are within the guidelines of the medical guidelines of my insurance company... Shame that medical professionals complain on one hand that the insurance system is broken and take refuge in it when it suits their needs...sounds hypocritical to me. Either way, as I told them...It might be usual and customary in their office, but with other doctors I've seen that is not. In my past, when I've been provided a treatment (previous Dermatologist, Dentist, Podiatrist, Opthamologist and others) where the treatment was not successful, I was brought back for a follow-up at no charge.
