I was looking for a new dermatologist because scheduling an appointment with my old doctor was hell. I had a flare up with my Rosacea and I called to schedule an appointment with my old doctor the appointment they gave me was in May! I had a flare up now and needed to be seen asap. I decided to try another doctor and thank goodness I did. I called on Wednesday evening and the receptionist gave me an appointment Friday morning. I met Dr. Lidia Pomaville and she was great. She explained everything thoroughly what I should and should not be doing. The doctor gave me different samples of creams and cleansers I could use. My face cleared up with the medication I was prescribed. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful and so was the nurse. read more

I spoke with someone on two separate occasions who I thought worked the front desk who verified that my BCBS insurance would be accepted. (This was an accented male). I took the day off and while checking in was told they don't take my insurance. When I explained who I spoke with the front desk knew who I was talking about and said I was misinformed. My experience ta Forefront Dermatology in Berwyn was terrible from the moment the medical assistant (who was great) left the office. I had given my list of concerns I wanted addressed to the assistant as requested. When Dr. Meccia came in, she looked at the some of them and was wrapping up the appointment. I asked about my other concerns and she rudely said she doesn't have time for that, if I want more I have to schedule another appointment. Fast forward to receiving biopsy results for an severely atypical mole from their office. I scheduled an appointment to receive an excision and subsequently tried to call their office to make sure my referrals were in order (office side) and that I could get a preestimation for the procedure (billing side). The call system never called back the first several times that I asked for the call back option when I was on hold. The billing office was strange and didn't authenticate my identity until I asked them too. I asked when I could expect to receive my preestimation for the service (when I finally got ahold of them after 3 weeks of calling regularly). They said we can make any promises of a timeline. I said my appointment is now in one week. Can you assure me I will receive this information within 48 hours of my appointment encase I need to postpone or cancel for financial planning purposes. They said yes (just to get me off the line I think). I never received that requested information. When I called the office again, because I had never even received access to my patient portal, it took us a 20 minute long conversation of trying to get access to it because my name and information wasn't registering to realize that they had misspelled my name on all my forms, charts, and medical records. It took them 3 tries of changing my name to get the spelling right. I ended up cancelling my appointment because I don't trust an office who treats their patients this way. I rescheduled with another dermatologist and sent over my pathology report from Forefront to them. I found out at that my name was still misspelled on the pathology report, leading to confusion at the new office as well. Overall highly dissatisfied and would recommend everyone avoid this office at all costs. read more

They outsource their billing, and their billing service is horrible. They took more than 2 months to bill my insurance, even though they had the correct insurance information. And it's really difficult to call and speak to anyone in the front desk. read more

What started as a simple acne extraction somehow turned into a surgical procedure. Two years later, I was shocked to receive a bill--turns out my insurance didn't cover it. The customer service has been awful, and the billing department has been completely unhelpful. On top of that, they also had a major patient data breach. Overall, a terrible experience. I've never had issue with the providers here. The issue is the front desk staff, particularly one person. I came in to my appointment 14 minutes late because I couldn't find parking in the lot. There weren't any spots available. As I sat in the parking lot, I called the phone number listed for this specific clinic location. The recorded message stated that there was a 20 minute hold to speak with someone. I called back again and selected the option to speak to someone in billing. This person, I forget her name, was extremely helpful and friendly. Once a parking spot opened I walked into the office, to be greeted by someone who was both professional and friendly. She said I missed the late grace period and would have to reschedule. I asked her to escalate to the manager because I had an issue getting parking and had to come in with my two small children, which is a feat in itself. As the receptionist went to the back to ask, a woman with big curly hair came around the corner, looked at me, side eyed me and said "and she's a new patient?!" And then laughed. I asked her what's so funny about me being a new patient, her response "I wasn't talking to you!" I have never been so offended in a clinical setting. I'm a healthcare provider for over 10 years and would never have the nerve to talk to someone in the manner. I was coming for a suspicious spot on my skin. That alone is stressful, and to be treated the way she treated and embarrassed me was beyond words. Now mind you, I wasn't a new patient. I've come here for my son, my mother gets treated there, and I've gone in for routine scans. I was classified as a new patient because I hadn't been there in a couple years. I'm not one to leave messages but this time I can't stand how angry I left there and so that it doesn't happen again to someone else. I have been working for this appointment since December 2024 because for my health insurance I needed a referral that only lasts 1 month, when I was finally able to get it, I proceed to make the appointment and the person who attended me did not realize that She gave me the appointment for a date that the referral was going to be expired. I arrive 15 min. early on the day of the appointment, the lady on the front tells me to start filling out some paperwork for a new patient and they know that it takes a while, and the secretary waits for me to finish and tells me that the REFERRAL is EXPIRED??? What office waits on the same day as a patient's appointment to tell them that their referral is expired. Well, she tells me to call my primary care physician so I can get another referral for today. Not believing that they have made an appointment with the expired referral, I call my doctor, and I manage to get him to fax another referral, and I sit in the lobby to wait, and I see that no one does anything in the office. I stand up to them to ask if the fax number I gave them was the correct one and the secretary tells me in that moment that the 15 minutes of grace have passed so that the doctor could see me today. I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT. I told her that how was it possible that this was NOT MY FAULT that the person who made the appointment did it knowing that the referral was going to be expired and the most that bothered me was that the secretary would see me sitting there and NOT TELL ME THAT THEY COULD NO LONGER SEE ME. I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE. read more

I had an appointment with Dr Meccia and I would have to say it was a horrible and complete waste of time. I went in for acne, which I have been dealing with all my life so I'm pretty experience with my condition. I conveyed to her thatI have had this issue all my life and indicated to her that I have tried every cream, soap, gel, and foam treatment. And told her that only Accutane works for me and that I'm starting to get break outs and would like to start accutane before it gets worst. Her response was that I didn't have severe acne, and would put me on it when it gets worst, which is what I was trying to avoid. Not to mention they are very painful. So she basically didn't listen to my concerns. And of course suggested I use some topical foam, which doesn't work. So avoid this place and doctor. We've been dealing with these providers for two plus years because they are close to home. HOWEVER--They are totally unreliable and NEVER follow through. No matter how many times you call, go in for appointments, talk to the "nurses", no one ever responds or helps. It is the most impossible place to deal with. DO NOT GO HERE. This is my second appointment with Lidia, PA. I was scheduled for a chemical peel. Apparently, even though I had paid for it several weeks ago, they prefer to wait till fall when the UV rays are lower. Why wasn't I informed of this ahead of time? I could have a "free" consult, though. Sounds like a bait and switch. Now, I have to wait for their central billing to issue a refund. Terrible experience with poor customer service. While I asked for a refund, 3 days later, I received a call from Chrystal asking me to reschedule my chemical peel. I think it will be a while till I get my refund. Poor communication. read more

I was seen by Dr. Meccia at the Berwyn location as a new patient on August 5. I had a concern regarding a spot on my leg, and a biopsy was done. I was instructed to call the clinic if I did not hear back from them in 2 weeks. I patiently waited the two weeks, however, I did NOT receive one call or any form of communication regarding my results. So I called the clinic on Wednesday, August 19. I spoke to Marla who informed me that they never received the results back from the lab. She then stated they would call me back to let me know whats going on but never gave me a time frame. I never received a call back. I called again on Thursday, August 20 and spoke to Marla who put me on hold for 11 minutes before telling me they still did not receive the results. I explained to her that it is overwhelming to wait for results, and that I needed a call back same day to know what was going on. I never received a call back. I called again on Friday, August 21 and Marla again answered the phone. I identified myself and why I was calling but before I could say anything else she placed me on hold. I remained on hold for 35 minutes. I hung up and called the clinic again, and this time I spoke to a receptionist who was working from home. She briefly put me on hold to find out why I was placed on hold for so long. Turns out Marla, the person who placed me on hold, had left for the day. I am in disbelief. Who treats patients like this?! The receptionist working from home informed me that they would call me back today, August 21 with the results and I would have an opportunity to speak with the manager. She informed me that if I did not get a call back by 4:30pm that I should call her (the receptionist) back at 4:30pn so she could patch me through to the clinic. NO ONE CALLED ME BACK so I called again at 4:30pm. Guess what... the clinic was closed per answering service. Unreal! This is unacceptable! I spoke to the answering service who finally got through to Dr. Meccia. I was informed by the answering service (not the doctor herself mind you) that they did not have my results, and that they are working on finding out why it is taking so long. Why did she have the answering service person relay that information to me instead of the doctor communicating with me directly? Very unprofessional and negligent. I have been patiently waiting for 2 weeks to find out my skin biopsy results. It's overwhelming. If I didn't call after the two weeks, would they have even followed up with me? It seems likely not! I have been patient, I followed their instructions, and now I've had enough! This is unacceptable and I need answers! Their lack of simple communication is alarming. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone. Save your money, peace of mind, and patience for another worthy dermatology clinic. It's imperative patients read the reviews, and leave reviews so that we are well informed before scheduling an appointment with a clinic like this. I had an appointment as a new patient for a TBSE that I wouldn't be able to make so I called to reschedule. There were technical difficulties with the phone systems so I had to wait. Not a problem, I understand things happen. I was understanding, pleasant, nice, sincere and said my please and thank you's. A receptionist was able to answer my call after a short wait and I explained the situation. When on the call I was in crowded Union Station, I had to excuse myself around someone and I missed what the person at Forefront had said. When she repeated herself it was so awful, borderline mean/bullying. Just absolute rude response. Condescending as if I was idiot. I think the calls are recorded so if the powers that be want to check it was an incoming call at 12:40pm on 1/19/2024. I was so stunned all I could say was "Oh" and then just had to laughed I was so shocked. She wasn't actually pleasant up to this point but I know that dealing with technical issues can be time consuming and stressful so I wasn't bothered. But her tone when I asked her to repeat herself was not appropriate under any circumstance. She changed her tone once she realized her response was uncalled for and I reacted with such shock but by then it was too late, I was not interested in her backtracking and got off the phone as fast as I could. I work in a doctors office, I have been to many doctors offices throughout my life, I have never experienced being spoken to this way nor would my supervisors ever allow this. read more

I think I read on some google reviews that people felt a bit rushed. From my personal experience, I felt like they were very patient and did not feel rushed at all. It was my first appointment and I had a lot of questions and I felt like they took the time to make sure they answered everything and would ask me if there was anything else. I am very disappointed I have an appointment card that states 08/07/18 with Dr. Pomaville @ 4:45. I showed up early and was told that I did not have an appointment. It was next month, the office manager was mater of fact that the appointment card means nothing, and without even checking with the doctor told me they could not see me. I had to leave work early and she did not care, it was a mistake and nothing could be done. This is the last time I will ever go there, they are rude and act like they are doing me a favor. Before when Dr. Whitney was there the people were thoughtful and caring about there patients, now it is run like a business only worrying about the dollars. read more

Dr. Damstetter and the nurse both listened carefully to me as I described family history and my thoughts on treatment options before prescribing treatment for my son. I called to make an appointment. Was given a time for the evening of the day I called! Hurray!! I was called back almost 15 minutes later and a voicemail stated my appointment had been canceled. No reason. No explanation. Would I like to reschedule? I called the number given to me in the voicemail, and it was to an office in a different state. I called the original number back and was told they weren't sure why my appointment was canceled, but they would get me another one. I got one on the same day again, only 30 minutes later than my original appointment. Great. 27 minutes from my actual appointment, I got another call saying that my second appointment was canceled. No explanation. Would I like to reschedule? When I asked why this was happening (surely it was a computer error or some glitch in the system), I was put on hold for a spell. The receptionist returned to say that they don't take same day appointments and gave me the impression that I was responsible for the second cancelation because I took it upon myself to call back after the first cancelation. I was then told that because it was getting late, there were no appointments (funny, I had two of them if you think about it, how are they not available then if they were actually scheduled in the first place?), but would I like an appointment in 5 days. I could actually feel the heat from my blood flow within my entire body. Would I like to reschedule? Absolutely not now, and not ever. It's 2018. How do they NOT take same-day appointments? We still pay. Besides, not once during my TWO phone calls with an actual human being (who I assume goes through some form of training), did they inform me of this no-same-day appointments policy. Why? Because they weren't aware of it. So, now I'm out a doctor visit for something I need to get taken care of, and I completely rearranged my schedule to accommodate an appointment that I now don't have, not because I missed it. Livid doesn't describe the way I feel at this moment. It's a shame because the doctor I saw before at this location was great. It's the reception staff and company policy that is inexcusable, and why will go elsewhere, and refer everyone I know to go elsewhere. read more
