We've visited at least a dozen courses over the past couple of years, with the top slot regularly changing. Far Oaks is now our go-to, and is a pleasure from the pro shop to the 18th green. The course is challenging, but not overwhelming, carts are in great shape, course itself is super fun, and everyone from the starter to the groundskeepers are friendly and welcoming. It gets busy, but pace of play is solid. Back 9 is a fun ride that lets you get creative with club selection. Some folks might complain about the sand, but who wants to hit out of the traps anyway? Great course, great people, and a great way to spend a few hours. Can't wait for our next visit!

As a beginner, I wasn't sure what to expect, but Mike put me at ease right away. Our first class (Sunday) focused on pitching, and he broke it down in a way that finally made it click -- clear setup, simple checkpoints, and instant feedback on what I was doing and how to fix it. What stood out is how much genuine teaching experience is behind his coaching. He's a PGA Class A professional with a serious playing and instruction background, and it shows: he doesn't overload you with jargon, he meets you where you are, and he gives you something you can actually take to the course. I left understanding my pitch shot better than I ever have. If you're an adult looking to get into golf or clean up your short game, I highly recommend Mike and this class. I used to have fun playing this course, but my last experience there left a bad taste in my mouth…read more I took my 5 year old son there to hit some balls on the range, and use the putting green. We bought several baskets of balls, and also spent money at the Restaurant/Bar. We were having a grand old time, and all of a sudden, the guy from the pro-shop comes out and yells at my kid on the putting green. He says that he was taking too much of a back swing, and making contact with the green with his putter. This beratement of my son made my son hate the game of golf. He feels that he has been banned from the course. I have no problem with an authority figure instructing us as to the proper way to treat the course, but to yell at my son from 50 yards away was not the proper way to solve the problem. The guy could have simply come over to us instead of making a scene, and making my son feel really bad about himself. I vow not to return to this course.

I've been a member for more than a year and have only had to wait for a treadmill once. The gym is typically clean with plenty of machines. It has a separate free weight room that is pretty sizable. The staff are always friendly. Mark Beasley is the absolute best trainer on staff. I would give him 5 stars if he were on Yelp independently.
