For kids of all ages, even the adult ones...

It is weird the places you end up when you are Christmas shopping, and this is definitely one of them. This is allegedly a comic book store, making me feel like I was in the Big Bang Theory and clientèle mainly boys, but just walking in gave me a bit of a fun feeling. A bit like going into a toy shop when you were a kid. Whatever TV show or superhero you are into, or if you are more Hello Kitty than Hellboy you will find gifts for anyone in here. Even gifts for yourself, which I did by accident, and the service was helpful, fast and friendly. Don't tell anyone. ;-)

Forbidden Planet came to Belfast after a local comic book/collectable store, the Talisman was bought over by them. The franchise was taken over by the same guy who owned The Talisman so it does a bit of local charm about it for being a chain store. They stock all the latest editions of pretty much every comic currently being published. If your a regular buyer they will open up a pigeon hole and will always keep back a copy for you. My friend has one of these pigeon holes and it appears that comics can be an expensive business! The pegoen hole doesn't cost anything but comics have gotten expensive, £3/4 for each, so if your like my friend who gets a 4/5 comics a week, it certainly adds up! Great place to nosey around, or (if your a passionate collector) to become broke in!

The only problem is it has a whole section dedicated to (SHUDDER) Twilight which could be used for better products.

I did buy one model kit ( for my birthday, of course), and a few paints. Apart from the giant selection of models to make, the shop stocks a very good range of both acrylic and enamel paints. The staff were very pleasant. I therefore highly recommend this shop. Robert Weissman.

The interior of the shop is packed with from wall to wall with classic car toys, action figures, planes and models of all kind. The time period it covers is so huge that it would be hard to find a living person of any age that wouldn't go into this shop and get nostalgic. Like anyone who would open this kind of shop the owner loves everything in there and has a great knowledge if you have anything to sell (that's worth him selling again!). If you are a collector, it's a go to shop or if you're just like me and wanting to take a trip down memory lane its a great place too. I may only be 23, but the original He-man action figure I dropped out of the car window when I was four, is worth so much now I feel the need to create a time machine and slap past Conor for ever taking it out of the packaging!

The stuff in here is perfect for stocking up on great gifts for birthday presents or Christmas! And they also have a whole range of costumes and toys in here too. If you come n here with a child be prepared for a long stretch as the store is jam packed and kids just love it! It's pretty cheap too which is always good as people do tend to rip the arse out of kids shops as they know tantrums could result in a child not getting what they want and parents looking for the easy life begrudgingly giving in. Ahh, the joys of what I have to look forward to.

I like shops like this. I think the kid in me is just attracted to glitter!…read more I'm also a big fan of hand-making cards for friends and family, so I do spend a good bit of time in shops like Art & Hobby, agonising over which thickness of card to get (seriously. I've been known to have to leave the shop to have a think before I buy!). The Art & Hobby shop is in a great location, probably the best location of all the crafty shops in town, so I end up going in simply because I'm passing it. It's not my favourite though. I find it a little more expensive than its rivals and it is a lot more focused on kids toys and crafts, which can make it hard when you want to make a card for someone over the age of 5!

I was told that this place would be the best bet so off we went! It had it all. The most surprising thing has to be the prices. They're pretty good! We managed to get combats, belts, pistol holders and my partner got some kind of air soft pellet gun thing. So cool, it was only £25 too! They really have everything you would need to dress up as an army officer or police officer, or Action Hero! It's great! The staff are super helpful too, especially the two old lady's they're beyond cool!
