The prints were an awkward shape an size so most frames wouldn't fit. You can find work by Carrick artist Thomas Joseph, Belfast artist Gary Anderson as well as the exceptionally popular Anna Nielsen prints. The jewellery sold here is really gorgeous, it's very well made and you should try here if you're interested in buying the likes of a claddagh ring or a Celtic knot brooch. The stock is in no way limited to the usual array of touristy nick nacks, even I shop here if I'm after a particular work of art. But for those visiting the Emerald Isle you can choose from a huge range of typical Irish souveneirs. For something different they also have some beautiful picture frames and clocks. I think of it as being like a car boot sale full of random items including candles, nail files, beads, cheap craft and art materials, games, toys, coffee, spices, makeup brushes, napkins, sweets, yoga mats, hand wash, notebooks, novelty knick-knacks, pots, pans and picture frames. Despite the fact that Tiger peddle a pile of rubbish, I quite enjoy a good riffle through it. Since everything's so cheap I tend to lose my mind and am tempted to buy all I see. Thankfully, sense intervenes just in the knick of time, so I always manage to leave the shop empty handed. However, when I next need napkins, candles or a new yoga mat I might consider heading straight to Tiger. It's the perfect place to pick up novelty items like quirky straws and party games. Cost wise it's not expensive - the price tags are weird though - they try and encourage you to buy multiple items by pricing things as 4 for £2 for example. Even for singular items the tag says '1 for £10'. Strange. A few people have compared this to Ikea - I can see the resemblance - it oozes Scandinavian coolness. The staff were brilliant. The guy was sensitive to my obviously crazy upset at the damage to an inanimate object and discussed with me my options for repair. He took it and sent it off, quoting a turnaround of 3 weeks. Within a week it was back, fixed, and they even put a new eye-bit (technical term obviously) on for free, and it was much cheaper than getting a replacement. The guys in here know their stuff and clearly have a passion for what they do and I'll be back in a heartbeat.

A beautiful range of patterns, design, colours and textures. Plus lovely illustrations on cards and notebooks. Not the cheapest shop for such items, but the products are beautiful, which makes it hard to resist impulse purchases. Staff are nice and offer an option to sign-up for a "Treat Me" Loyalty Card at the till. This allows customers to build up credit towards receiving free treats and discounts.

I think the first time I visited a gallery was back with family at the Ulster Museum to see the…read moreworks on offer. I've been to a few shows since, Sean Scully's long term exhibition at the newly renovated museum is fantastic and it's inspired me to do a few for my apartment as well. This stall has been here for some time and always seems to draw a crowd away from the multitude of little foodie stalls throughout the market. Lyn Chambers' painting, the majority of which are on canvas are mostly landscapes and nature inspired. There's a really interesting mixture of Constable-esque detail and modern, vivid almost warped colour. There was a fantastic piece of simply coloured terraced houses in an almost favela style. Brilliantly striking and something I would love to hang on my wall. All pieces of course vary in price, depending on size but you can pick up a small one for under £30 so there's something for everyone's budget.

My mum can paint, sketch, knit, crochet, and all the rest of it, but unfortunately I didn't inherit her arty farty genes. Stick men and colour co-ordination is really the height of it for me. Well, at least my stick people will be well dressed... Thank goodness for Craftworld, a haven of every possible kind of art form known to man. To my delight, this includes those colourful beads which you place on a random plastic shape, cover with iron-proof paper, and iron. Cue excitement. I actually made one of these a number of years ago. A blue and red place mat in the shape of a star which sits on my desk. Craftworld appreciates the lesser forms of art. Happy days. If you're not one for fusing together beads (and let's face, apart from a five year old and myself, who really is?), do not fear.
