Back story, I actually had written a message to one tat shop and for some reason it sent to like five. Anyhow it was Bloodline that got back to me immediately and was also waaay less arrogant than the other places I dealt with. And I appreciate that, it's how I work! Get back to me, communicate professionally and don't be an ass. Too old for that shit! Anyhow, night of my appt. Now this is the first work I've gotten since I was 22(?). So I was excited, hoped it would go well, etc. Got to the shop. It was a little busy. But this is how it goes. It's art, not assembly line work. I waited quite a while. People complain on here a bit about that. Ya kinda have to go with it though. It's to be expected in certain arenas of life. So chalk it up as part of the experience and just enjoy getting to know the scene at your maybe new shop. I enjoyed it personally. Now I was seen by Fernando. He was absolutely the sweetest thing and the best person I could have asked for. Especially considering it had been a while since I had work done. It had been a long day. I had eaten a lot of edibles too. Haha And I felt totally comfortable with him. He's personable and an amazing artist. I will definitely get more work done by him and make that my excuse to visit the area. I'm going to add that I went through a total allergic coughing fit like a total dork and he was totally patient and dealt with my non stop cough attacks. After coming in the shop owner Chris Reyes stated that he would like me to come back the next day at 11am so he can have more time to prep. I agreed and gave the $100 deposit. Come the next day at my appointment time and the shop is locked/closed. I call the artist 12 times with no response. I call the shop number and I get someone who only answers the phone calls and he says he doesn't know where Chris is. I waited 50 minutes to receive my deposit back at least since Chris no showed my appointment. I come back around 1:30 to see if the shop is opened and still no one there. Customers coming trying to come into the shop and driving away due to no one being there. I'm still waiting on my deposit back and I will attach the screenshots. On the front door it says they open the shop at 9am. Apple Maps says they open at 12 pm but the owner makes an appointment with me at 11am. Make it make sense.

Spontaneously decided to get a tattoo to represent my time in Palm Springs. Went to a seafood spot…read moreand seen this tattoo shop a few doors down. Went to give it a try. It was completely empty. Nice set up, very clean. I decided to get a Palm Tree. Daniel was the artist who assisted me. He showed me the Palm Tree designs he had, and he guesstimated a size that ended up being perfect. After the placement sample I decided to get it. It costed $150, definitely over priced from what I'm use to paying in LA, but I just bit the bullet. It took him about 10mins to get set up. Once he was all set up I headed over and he got down to business. During the actual tattoo I was skeptical because the results were not looking like the initial image I had agreed on BUT the aftermath was nice. Pain was like a 6/10. The shading is what hurt the most. I did ask him to lengthen the leaves a little because I didn't see the full vision. Daniel was personable, the shop played good music. Overall I do like the placement and the tattoo, I do have a few spots that needed more shading but I'm hoping after it heels it is less noticeable. Daniel let me know about aftercare, bandaged me up. The next day the area around the tattoo was super puffy. But I'm sure with time that will go down.

I decided on Mike at Palm Desert Tattoo and we could not be happier. Let me start by saying PATIENCE, Mike has tons of it. I was simple, but my daughter had to make sure his profile was perfect and Mike worked on the mockup until it was. The shop was super clean and smells good :) I got my puppy and had color added to a previous tattoo and both came out great. My daughter got her puppy and a crunch wrap tattoo (yes, you read that right) she was thrilled with both. He sat me in chair and I watched him mix paints and watch a movie till 10:45 am. When he finally started he too long breaks in between him inking me with gun. During one of these long pauses with nothing going on, I look up to see him watching TV. It was really bad service, I thought someone was going to pop out and say I have been punked. After 3hrs I asked him if he was close to be done, he told me it would be at least another 1 hour. I told him I would have to come back. I just needed to get out of there. Against my better judgement I went back. He made sure to collect the money prior to even starting which I found was a little weird, but I paid $160. I was hoping he was just having a bad day. However, I wasn't so lucky. Once again, I watched him mix paints for almost an hour, while watching a movie. This 3" tatto was taking too long, after 1.5 hours I told him I needed a break. I took the opportunity to actually run to my car and not look back. At this point, I didn't care where he was at with the tattoo. When I got home my boyfriend took these pictures. I got there around 3:30, put my name on the waitlist, and by about 6:30 I was in the chair. Honestly, that's pretty fast considering some people had been waiting since noon. From what I could tell, the event was a success. They had 30 slots and filled 29 of them. The artist who tattooed me, Fiona, was actually the one who drew the flash I chose, which made it even better. The session went quickly, but she never rushed -- it was super chill. I was literally starting to fall asleep if it weren't for my phone blowing up with texts. Fiona was EXCELLENT. I'm absolutely coming back to have her do another traditional piece. I really love these flowers. And honestly, I trust Sacred Black Ink completely. I feel like no matter who I book with, I'm going to get consistently great work.

The second time, I just came by to pop in on my sister-in-law while she was getting tattooed. During that visit, I mentioned wanting to get my dog Skye tattooed on me, and from that conversation, I knew right away that Tuchies was the artist I wanted for such a meaningful piece. The portrait of Skye came out absolutely phenomenal. It's so detailed and lifelike, it feels like he's peeking out of a photo. Skye is still very much alive and my whole world, so this tattoo is a celebration of him that I get to carry forever. The shop itself is welcoming, professional, and has such a great vibe.
