I have used Dr. Wolfe Sidberry as my primary care doctor for over ten years. I go to Brentwood…read moreFamily Cate because I am generally healthy and hate the wait and hassle of scheduling appointments days in advance. When I don't feel good and can manage to get away from work, I like to go straight there. There is usually only a short wait (less than 20 min) and I've been impressed with Dr Wolfe Sidberry and her partners there. I have used other walk on clinics and many are terrible. Dr Wolfe Sidberry is fast, efficient, and doesn't pull punches - good things in my book, but some may want a chit chattier manner. I prefer her style because she gets me well each time and doesn't ever waste my time. Outside of basic colds my daughter and I have used her for vaccinations, blood work, blood pressure management, removal of a tiny sty (that another doctors wanted to require general anesthetic for on my girl!), and successful treatment of a staph infection. I endorse Brentwood Family Care for its capable, efficient medical service to the community.

If this clinic wants to present itself as a mental health provider, leadership might want to revisit what "care" actually looks like. Walking in, I was immediately met with a barrage of paperwork focused on billing--making sure charges are clear to them, not to you. Not exactly the warmest introduction for someone seeking mental health support. The next interaction was just as impersonal. After giving my name, I was directed to step on a scale and provide measurements--no introduction, no explanation, no basic courtesy. It felt more like processing inventory than welcoming a person. Then came the actual "care" session. The provider launched into a rapid-fire explanation of all the ways the clinic can bill you, delivered with the energy of a fast-talking sitcom character. She shared that she knew I had already been given all of those details though just wanted to recap again. Then, she told me why she thought I was there which was not accurate. I asked her to slow down and please take the time to have dialogue instead of talking at me. She never asked meaningful questions or or make a genuine attempt to understand why I was there, which made any real conversation about mental health impossible. Overall, the experience felt dismissive, disinterested, and transactional from start to finish. The caregiver, in particular, seemed better suited to a role with minimal human interaction - perhaps guarding an empty museum wing, because meaningful engagement was clearly not part of the approach. I am genuinely appalled and disturbed this clinic presents itself as having any aptitude in mental health care. None of them demonstrated an ounce of intellectual curiosity or communication skills which should be critical in caregiving roles.

I was prescribed a medication that us used once per week. I picked it up and used one of the four dosed every seven days. When I requested a refill via their "myhealth@vanderbilt" website, it was denied because it had not been THIRTY DAYS. Can you do the math? Vanderbilt couldn't. The denial was delivered from the computer, via computer, via their website and had NO MEANS TO REPLY TO THE DENIAL. So do you think Vanderbilt Cares?

One the one office call I am being billed 100% of the cost. That didn't seem right. BPC billed Medicare. Medicare's COB information was wrong. Claim rejected. What did BPC do? Billed me. No call. No text, No email. No message on MyVanderbiltHealth.com... NOTHING just a bill in the mail with no information on why. Today I have wasted 4 hours on the phone, on line and going to the office. Total waste. Stopped to pick up a prescription on the way home. Walgreen's ordered refill eight days ago. BPPC had not responded. They are all home now. I am about to double up on the Xanax and join them in the bless of a job well done. Old people deserved better than this.
