We needed someone to look at our Norcold Fridge which had given us codes indicating we needed to have a dealer setvice it. Based on reviews we called Foothills RV & got an appt with John who came to our rv to Evaluate it. He seemed very knowledgeable & told us what was needed. It needed to be reset by a technician. Three weeks ago, I made appointment with Foothills for an 8am time slot. When we showed up, the front desk clerk notified me that the fellow whose specialty was slide outs had taken the week off. When I asked why I had not been contacted, the front desk person said it was last minute late Friday afternoon and he had already left. There seemed to be no concern about the tremendous travesty of having a 40 ft motorhome show up and being told that service could not be provided. Could not someone else have called, maybe the owner? Had a refrigerator problem while boondocking in the desert. These folks were able to take me in on short notice and after several attempts to repair it we decided that my 14 year old fridge was shot. Our travel trailer slide cable was frayed and ready to break. I called other RV shops and was told it would be at least 6 weeks before they could look at it and I would have to take the trailer to them. A relative suggested I call Foothills to see who they recommend for mobile service and they said they do it. I went to their store on a Thursday and booked a tech for the following Monday. The tech Ernie arrived earlier than expected and had the cable replaced in less than an hour. He was very friendly and professional. Once again I needed help with my RV that I live in full time. I wanted 2 grey and 2 black tanks removed and hook me directly to the sewer. I didn't want any more tank smells or the aggravation of dumping and cleaning. I called and they sent out ERNIE. What a very knowledgeable and hard-working man. It's a supply store in a strip mall. No mechanics shop. A mobile RV repair guy met me in the parking lot. Ernie. My slide rocks open 6 inches on every bump and turn. "That's normal." But it didn't do that for years. "The spring-loaded awning holds it shut. You need a new awning." Moving on. The motorized steps grind. He starts fixing it without a word. I say that my warranty service won't cover fixes without a pre-approved estimate. Ernie walks away without a word. I tell him my AC's compressor leaked its mineral oil. "I need to see what AC it is." I offer to tell him the make and model. "I need to see what's wrong with it." I say that the compressor leaked its mineral oil. "So you want to do my job for me?" I told Ernie I'd find another shop, which means a place that actually has a shop and a professional. read more

I full-time so have a lot of experience with mobile RV services. Foothills RV is the best. My refrigerator was on the blink and when I called they knew exactly what I was talking about and they had experience with the aftermarket cooling unit on my Norcold. John came out, checked out the unit, gave me options for repair and then suggested I turn off the unit for 48 hours and then attempt a restart. He said it may be an obstruction caused by my travel, but said he wasn't very hopeful. Well, long story short, when I restated the refrigerator it came back to temperature and has been fine since, saving me hundreds if not thousands of dollars. Perfection! John got us in within the timeframe we needed while traveling through AZ with a nonfunctioning Atwood gas furnace-in winter. Don came, listened to my description of the problem and immediately diagnosed the problem. He even came with a new control board, put it in and that was it. No mess, no fuss, he knew exactly what the problem was and sorted it out. I also asked him about the warped facing and he fixed that too! Needed some screws in the furnace to the floor. I called different RV repair shops in Yuma and they all said we are booked until June and this is April when I called. Then I called Foothills RV and they said come in Monday. Within an hour Don had it fixed and I was on my way. It was wired wrong and he had to rewire lamps correct .I had just bought the trailer so was no sure about wiring. Our furnace in our fifth wheel would not work and it was in the 30's at night. I called Foothills RV and they sent Don to our place the same day. After much testing he determined the igniter was bad. We had some problems with the refrigerator in our rv. John came out last month and got it going, only to have it go out a month later. He didn't charge for the first visit at all! I made an appointment to have a dometic refrigerator door seal put on . made the appointment on the18th of Dec they were to come out to my place at 9 am on the 22nd. At 8:45 am on the 22nd they called and said they would be alittle late and have to send another mechanic. i said ok then 5 min. later they call back and said that the mechanic did not want to do the job and said sorry. Our Dometic 2 door reefer started giving us problems to the point of where we wired in an interior & roof mounted circulating exhaust fans. Hoping that would help. Well, the real problem was diagnosed by Mickey (who runs the shop) over the phone & confirmed by John the owner upon inspection. We came to their shop, they made the cooling unit exchange & plugged us in for night. The next morning & ever since it has been working excellently. Our black water drain valve had been becoming harder to open for quite some time. As full-time RVers it's very difficult to drop off the unit at a dealership for repairs. We were extremely happy that Foothills RV did mobile repairs, especially on something as important as replacing a black water drain valve. I knew we were in good shape when their technician Ernie arrived the first time to look it over. He told me he didn't have the parts on hand and would be back at certain time and day, and that's just what he did. He went to work and with out taking any shortcuts got it fixed better than new. Needed a 90 degree sewer hookup. One with the triple thread to go into camp sewer. Went to local big box rv supply. They didn't have. Went to Foothills RV and was greeted at the door. Our air conditioner did not cool, stopped at the office at about 8:30 in the morning to schedule an appointment, was told someone would be at our RV park site between 10 & 12 to check it out. A young man appeared about 10:15 found a capacitor was defective, went back to the shop and found they did not have the right one in stock,it would take 2 or 3 days to get one. The young man said they may have a used one would that be ok, it would be half price, of course I agreed with that. He found one, replaced it and the AC was working as it should! I highly recommend Foothills as a competent, honest, hardworking group with tones of experience. They are mostly a mobile tech firm but I brought my RV to the store to conform to the warranty requirements. We had an inverter problem (it would not charge the batteries). I took it into Foothills RV and they confirmed the issue. The tech Don was knowledgeable and capable. Foothils RV worked with my warranty company and the Magnum Service center to get it repaired. Then UPS dropped it on the return shipment and Foothills worked diligently to get UPS to repair the unit. read more

He rescheduled someone else non-critical appt to fit me in - and then realized he didn't have the correct AC to replace mine and directed me to another service center who had it and could fit me in immediately. I Had a small fuel leak on my RV Generator. I looked it over and thought I could just remove the fuel pump and fuel hose and replace the hose. As luck has it, the access to the mounting bolts was limited to only one bolt and it ,looked like I needed to remove the generator mounting bolts and try and tilt the whole unit. I called Foothills RV and Ernie came out and drilled a hole under the area where the other pump bolt was and then removed the pump and fuel line . He replaces the fuel hose and reinstalled the whole mess and its now running without that leak. GREAT JOB AND REALLY THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX!!!!! All of this took about an hour. I was impressed. I will use these guys again!!! read more

I called Foothills RV Service to have one of my slide awnings looked at. They worked me in during one of their busiest times of the year. John came out and expertly evaluated the problem. Eventually I will need to replace the fabric, but there wasn't time to get fabric shipped in before my scheduled departure from Yuma. Wow and Wow. Our heat pump stared making a strange noise. Called and they sent out Ernie today. First of all their service call charge is ONLY $30 and after climbing on the roof and checking it out he couldn't find anything wrong. He did say the mounts are getting worn and that could be the issue but those parts aren't available anymore ( our baby is 16 years old). He wouldn't even charge us for the service call.
