The entire staff is wonderful. Erica, the office manager, is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, friendly and caring. She always goes above and beyond to help with availability, insurance issues and brings an overall bright and sunny disposition, to the office. She went out of her way to investigate, my insurance coverage. Without having to be asked, she was able to figure out a way to have my insurance company cover my Invisalign. Money is tight. Worst Dental Office ever. They use patience as practice dummies for unskilled and untrained dentist. They place spacer in your mouth to help hold it open and don't return for literally hours. When you ask for help the assistance just look at you with pity and remind the dentist how long you've been waiting but they don't care. They even have the nerve to have you go home after torturing you with having you mouth open for hours and doing nothing, saying it late and they are getting ready to close. I can be a dentist's worst nightmare; overly sensitive to dental pain, I squirm way too easily. As a result I don't keep up on my dental care. Today was the second visit of a 2 appointment extravaganza comprised of deep cleaning, FIVE fillings, and a crown. This is not how I envisioned becoming crowned royalty but I digress. Dr. Lee and her team are PHENOMENAL. Their patience and gentle touch are amazing. I highly recommend Dr. Lee and her team. The reception you receive upon arrival is very warm and welcoming. I came in inquiring about an appointment for today for a possible tooth extraction - without checking any appointment book or anything, no questions regarding if I am in pain or any concerns for me or my time was told no appointments available. (I assume it's due to the way I look or something. Unsure if race related -- hopefully not.. I get that a lot from the tattoos.) So out of curiosity I waited 30 minutes and called just to see what they would say. I ask "Hi, wondering if you have any openings for today for a tooth extraction?" The woman on the phone replies: "Hmm let me check, are you in any pain, also you didn't come in earlier did you?" *warning flag went up* I answer "Yes I'm in a bit of pain - No, weird question -- but no I didn't come in." She answers back "Ok, well we have an opening at 12pm." I reply "Okay, let me call you back." What I am getting at is you really shouldn't treat a potential cash paying customer like that.. As now I have to write a 1 star review due to either racial or some other type of profiling. Both women at the front should be retrained on how to handle patients as the other instead of smiling and nodding could of done the right thing, showed actual concern for my well being, and checked the bloody book rather than me dealing with nonsense just because I a poor looking guy with tattoos. For me, a visit to a dental office has always been something to avoid at all costs. I confess to an average of 6-7 years between visits. Until now. I had been referred to Foothill Dental and Dr. Lee in particular by a family member who knows my history very well. He would only suggest someone he thought would be a good fit. I am, like many I suspect, not afraid of pain per se. Pain is something that can be easily handled. It's the entire experience of the treatment that keeps me from making an appointment until the problems with my teeth can no longer be ignored. The noises and smells as well as the uncomfortable feeling of too many instruments in my mouth all make the dentist chair the last place I want to be. Having said that, I have to say something I never thought I would say. I actually don't mind going to Foothill Dental. Or, at least, I show up and don't feel like running for the door. The entire experience changed my mind about going to the dentist. Both doctors are kind, patient and gentle without being condescending. The staff is so pleasant I feel comfortable talking to each of them without feeling like I'm thought of as a "scaredycat". Since mid-December, I've had eight appointments. Anyone who knows me will realize I am wholeheartedly endorsing Foothill Dental. Dr. Lee, her staff and especially Liz have made me feel comfortable and completely at my ease. Doctor Lee took wonderful care of me when I went in for a dental check up. I came early for my first check up and was hoping to get a dental cleaning and any other procedure I needed that day. They took me in right after I got there to do my X-rays and once done, I quickly was taken to a procedure room where Dr. Lee came in very shortly after. She made sure to say my name correctly and took the time to answer any of my questions and was incredibly personable and lovely to speak with. Dr. Lee was the one to then do my dental cleaning and was gentle and caring of any discomfort I had. It's hard to find a dentist who seems to care a lot about you and also is so professional but Dr. Lee was both. I had as good of an experience as I think I could have :). I have been seeing Dr. Mindel at Foothill Dental for years!! I have been to other dentists before and hated them all. I never felt truly comfortable with a dentist until I started going to him. He is very friendly and personable. It makes going to the dentist a positive experience when you have him as your dentist! My dental hygienist Ashley is on a whole other level! She is the best!!! I really feel like I am hanging out with my best friend while she is cleaning my teeth. She's great at what she does and very thorough. Every time I have my teeth cleaned I feel like a new person. I received a postcard to remind my husband and I to make an appointment for our annual check up - except it wasn't addressed to myself and my husband. It was addressed to my husband and his ex-wife (from his first marriage). At first I found it funny because they were married 20 years (if not more) ago, but then I found this extremely concerning - how do you mix up records that are at least two decades old?! And if they're mixing up records that are at least 20 years old, how can I trust them now to keep my current records correct and confidential? I don't. Five Stars - hands down - for Dr. Jean Lee! She was the Director and Orchestrator of the emergency help I needed by the time I had called her office. I knew of no dentist in the area, and so did a Google Search, and found her to be my Number One Choice, although she was a little distance from our home. Dr. Lee called me herself, for my first contact with her office, and she gave me her personal cell phone to contact her as I needed her. Her receptionist, Erica, helped me to schedule asap which was the next morning. The office was clean and prepared for Covid-19 precautions. I was asked questions and my temperature was taken. I was the only patient in the office. I wore a mask, as all the staff did, too. Dr. Jean Lee's x-ray technician (apologies - I don't know her name), was very nice to talk with as she took my x-ray. The room where Dr. Jean Lee examined my tooth and the x-ray was down the hall. The decor is exquisite. There is a beautiful painting hanging on the wall in front the patient's chair. Very nice touch! Dr. Jean Lee was a pleasure to meet. I greeted her in my broken Korean greeting, but let her know that that was, basically, all I knew to say in the Korean language except, "thank you." She graciously responded. She is a very nice person. She is very personable. She is delightful to meet! She looked at my x-ray and examined my mouth, and gave me her plan to fix my ever-increasing painful tooth/teeth/my whole mouth and head and neck. She satisfied my wonderings as I asked her questions. She also prescribed a Z-Pack - I am so glad she did! She told me that the antibiotic would help ease the pain of the infection and inflammation. She was so right. She directed me to Endodontix who would make the best call on what looked like from the x-ray that I needed a root canal or even two. She put me into the best of hands. Then Erica, her receptionist, made sure that she got me an asap appointment at the Endodontix nearest to our home. Erica set all that up for me. I just went to get that work done yesterday, Thursday, May 21, 2020. I was in and out of the office in one hour. I only needed one root canal under a cracked filling (which was the reason for the infection and need for a root canal). I took one Motrin before the anesthesia wore off, and took no more Motrin after that, and have had no pain! I was able to sleep last night - NO MORE radiating tooth pain that would continually worsen and that would be unabated until around 5:00 a.m. or so in the morning when I would finally sleep a little. Instead, I woke up this morning after my first great night of rest, and only feel an unremarkable soreness that feels like what you would expect from opening your mouth for a while for a procedure. That soreness doesn't even count for "pain," as far as I am concerned. "Mission Accomplished" by Dr. Jean Lee and staff - I am out of pain, and the source has been stopped by means of a root canal. Dr. Jean Lee is so gracious and selfless; she is so kind and gracious. She was my #1 Choice for a dentist when all I could do was Google Search a dentist in my area, and hope to find SOMEONE who could help me right away. Dr. Jean Lee was that SOMEONE. The drive across town to her place was worth it! Since that initial Google Search I have had time to confer with my sister instead of Google to get her personal recommendation to go to her dentist. My sister's dentist is even further away from where we live, and my sister's dentist has recommended a classmate of hers who practices 6.9 miles away from our home. My husband and I both need a dentist, and so I feel bad to not give Dr. Jean Lee our business, so I let her know about it. She is so very gracious, as I have said, and, basically, gave me her blessings to go where I "know" the dentist from a personal source - my sister - and where we will not have to travel a distance. If we had not found this other dentist through my sister's personal recommendation, Dr. Jean Lee would still be our 1st Choice in choosing a family dentist. We knew no dentist in the area, and were in need of emergency services asap for my teeth. We can wholeheartedly say that Foothill Dental Care has been our "go to" when we knew no one, and has met all our needs. Thank you, Dr. Jean Lee, and your x-ray technician, and your receptionist, Erica. It is the least I can do to say, "Thank you" to Dr. Jean Lee and her team at Foothill Dental Care, to write her and her staff a 5-Star review! I hope this will be a help to her business and to those who may find themselves in the same predicament as I found myself in - I needed services, and I needed services immediately, but had no personal recommendations to rely on at the time of my ever-increasing pain that couldn't be tolerated much longer.
