Foodworks is obviously a chain store, and you might expect that every Foodworks is the same but I have a soft spot for the St Lucia Foodworks. This little fuzzy warmth that arises when I think of the place mainly comes from being an extreme regular and just the general friendliness of the staff. I visit the St Lucia Foodworks at least once a day, but often even twice. It is the perfect place to pick up some fresh fruit or that forgotten onion needed to cook up dinner. They have a good range of fruit and vegetables and offer some great deals on these, like the super cheap bananas at the moment.
The Foodworks is open late and serves both the St Lucia locals and its large student population. The staff there are awesome! They all seem so happy all the time. Even before I was a regular, they would chat and ask how my day was going. While this foodworks does not have the biggest selection, you can still get almost everything you need, including a nice little Asian section mainly made up of Mi-Goreng noodles. You can see that they cater for their student customers well. There is also one of those Oovie machines here where you can hire out DVDs which is nice and convenient. I have grown very attached to this Foodworks over this year and will be sad when I move in a month and it is no longer my local store. read more
