The work is never really difficult or very technical, though sometimes requires lifting 30 - 50 lb boxes and it can be dusty because of the warehouse environment. Sarah, the volunteer coordinator, is a very nice and well-organized person who clearly WANTS to be there. The people who work there are all very nice and the facility is clean, including the bathrooms. They provide cold bottled water to you as you work, which are recycled of course. If you're looking for a team or family activity for a couple of hours each month, this is such a great way to help your community!

They have…read moreprograms focused on seniors, delivering to those with mobility struggles, and of course anyone who might be experiencing hunger. Volunteering is easy and organized, with several different activities available to schedule online. I only volunteer at this facility, where we sort and pack food, but there are other options at pantries and other locales. The warehouse is low-stress but you will be active the entire time during the scheduled shift, moving boxes and items around as needed. There is also occasionally a shift inside a cooler sorting meat, so keep a hoodie or other jacket in your car if you're like me and get cold easily. If you plan to volunteer with a group you can easily sign up for the same day. They can accommodate large groups for team building days and such as well.

I absolutely love this food pantry. You can visit twice a month and you can receive produce, meat,…read moretoiletries, fruit, vegetables, pasta, potatoes, cereal and more! The staff are very friendly and helpful and they are always are willing to help with a smile. I really like the hours. The hours are convenient, and keep in mind the working family. For example, they have early Saturday hours, and two days during the week with one day in the morning and one day in the evening. Therefore, if you work a traditional 9 to 5 you can come after work. The lines are long though! Before COVID-19, we were able to go inside and shop. However, the Hilliard food pantry takes the pandemic very seriously and they converted to a drive-through method. You drive up, give them your information, and they load up your trunk. They do this very quickly but you will be in the line for a bit. There are some days that I come and things are very in and out, about 10 minutes. And there are other days where I'm there for almost an hour in the line. I can tell you that it's worth it. For struggling families, they do so much. Sometimes they have clothes, and shoes as well that have been donated. They even offer assistance during Thanksgiving and Christmas which includes food as well as toys. And the toys are good, they give bicycles almost every year. They also offer utility assistance once a year. The people here are just amazing. I said that already but I think I should say it again. Full disclosure here, I have pretty intense back and hip problems. One time I pulled up onto the line at the pantry, and my hip totally locked up on me. I was already in park but I couldn't lift my foot to the gas pedal. So, I was essentially holding up the line... unable to get out of the way or move forward. I called the pantry and told them the situation. Two women came out to help me! I am appreciative of what the Hilliard food pantry does for my family. Thank you!

I feel they go above & beyond the call of duty to help out.I heard that they are looking for a change in their logo & they want it to include the name of the West Ohio Food Bank. So here is my idea & I hope they like it. But before I say my idea, I just want to thank them for all the food they have provided me with. I have plenty to eat now, & I love to cook. I do not always have meat at every meal. I will eat beans & rice & pasta,& whatever they give me I know how to make a good meal out of a little bit of ingredients. Now here is my idea for their new logo:West Ohio Food Bank Is my "Angels sent to me from Heaven" & I thank them for feeding me so I can Follow their "Stairway To Heaven " helping others out as much as I can. All People's Fresh Market is amazing. It truly lives up to its name, it is for ALL people. They…read moredo not turn anyone away. The first time you go you have to provide your drivers license. They basically set you up in their system, takes less than 5 minutes. They ask absolutely no questions and after checking you in the first time they provide you with a key tag that you simply show each time you go in the future. They have both a drive thru, and a walk up option to pick up fresh food. If you choose to do the walk up, they do have parking spots available. Everyone that is working / volunteering is kind and judgement free. What I have found is that many that are in need of food in Columbus do not have the proper transportation. I have stopped by All People's Fresh Market and picked up a box of food to drop off to those in need. The joy those families have when I arrive with a big box of food is totally worth it. If you are in need of fresh food, or you know someone that is, please pass this info on. All People's Fresh Market is a savior.

There is only one location, which is in Covington, close to the Parish Kitchen, etc. I feel safe dropping off my donations, and I always get a receipt for my taxes. Note that the donation drop-off is behind the building in a parking lot. You have to ring the intercom for service.

This is an annual event and I would recommend that you purchase a ticket and attend each year. The funds raised go to feed the hungry people across East Central Indiana and we all should do what we can to help end hunger in our communities. I would also recommend that you volunteer (it's located by the old Water Bowl) outside of Muncie. It is awesome to see the great efforts that go into feeding those in need.
