Beef Bulgogi Rice Bowl
Kendric D.

I really enjoyed the Food Lab, they have a diverse menu when it comes to drinks and food options. I had the beef bulgogi(one of my favorites) and I'd highly recommend this choice! The flavor was exceptional, there was a hint of spice, sweetness, saltiness, and the food was definitely hot when I received my order. It came with kimchi and other assortments to complement the meal like rice of course. The shops aesthetic looks awesome, there is a bar area for drinks, with music that plays in the restaurant, and the staff was extremely welcoming. The staff assisted with different options for us to try on the menu. There is plenty of parking in front of the restaurant and on the side of the restaurant! Also, the inside has plenty of seating, pick a spot and have a bowl because I'll be back!

This is such a fun modern Korean diner. I like the poke bowls - my family loves the bi bim bap and bulgogi bowls. The smoothies and boba are great afternoon treats. I just wish they were in a better location.

I had seen this by driving by one day. Thought I would give it a try. It was the best Poké bowl I've had since I left Tampa Florida. Everything was fresh. The tuna was super cold. Everything was wonderful. The staff was very warm and welcoming, very knowledgeable and it didn't take long to get my order. I would highly recommend you trying this place out.

Jajangmyeon Noodle

Fresh and tasty Korean food. Several offerings here that aren't found at our other southern Indiana Korean restaurants (although they have excellent food too). The jajangmyeon noodles were every bit as delicious as those I've had in Korea. Staff was very nice and checked in on us a time or two. The environment had a very cute K-pop feel to it. We will definitely be back to try some of the other options- namely the poke bowls. There are so many great options it was hard to choose just one. I nabbed a few bits of my husband's bugolgi and that was also yummy. In summary: Food Lab = weird name + delicious food.

Beef Bulgogi Rice Bowl

I've eaten here 3 times and every experience has been great! The staff is always welcoming, there's a cute, simple Korean/k-pop decor on the inside. The food is fresh and full of flavor. Always hits the spot. I've had their Tofu poke bowl, smoked salmon poke bowl and the bulgogi rice. Try any of those options and you won't be disappointed...TRUST!

Fresh Tuna Poke bowl

I HIGHLY recommend this place!! The food is fresh and delicious! I got a tofu bowl and my hubs got the tuna poke bowl and they were so tasty. Great prices, ambiance is cute and cheerful

Got the tonkatsu ramen for like 14 bucks , it was good and filling. My dad got the spicy ramen for 7 bucks - he said it was good and hot. Theres a variety of milk teas and food to choose from. There's lot to look at. We went on a friday afternoon and it was empty and first but quickly filled up. The seating is not so comfortable - the bench with green pillows is hard as a rock. But the aesthetic is nice and they got a projector screen playing music videos. The price is pretty typical for a ramen maybe even a little cheaper. They also have a bar ! So that's unique and cool. Will probably be here again.

The food is fantastic, as is the service. The ambiance is very cozy and has a sort of chill lounge vibe if it were Korean.

I long for a bagel from Cold Smoke and the Beef Bulgogi from Fresh Out the Box. One of my favorite things about the bulgogi bowl is my ability to choose which protein, vegetables, and toppings go into it. I like to have spicy and pickled vegetables but I also like to mix it up in terms of what I put into it. Sometimes, I am a delicate flower that can handle no heat and other times I want to feel like a double-headed dragon for the rest of the day. It's a process not perfection. They also have chopsticks available which I am a huge fan of using and always have been. Oddly, they aren't always available at places you'd expect them or that *I* expect them. They have other options which I assume are great but I am in this rut where I want the spicy beef bulgogi. You can't go wrong here. Also, their customer service is top notch.

The girl who took our order was very patient and helpful when we had questions about several ingredients and my dietary restrictions. We received a buzzer to alert us when our order was ready, which didn't t take very long. I ordered a Bulgogi beef bowl with broccoli, spicy radish, carrots, cucumbers, lettuce, sesame seeds, and yum-yum sauce. The presentation was very visually appealing, but that is where the positives end. The beef was described as having a lot of flavors from the marinade, but it was very bland and pale and I might have had the equivalent of 1 slice of cucumber cut into fourths. The entire bowl lacked flavor, the portion was small, and for the price, I was disappointed. I'm not sure that I will return. There were numerous tables throughout the market to enjoy one's meal, and free street-side parking was available throughout the neighborhood.

Kiwami comes pretty close to meeting my criteria. Quality: yes. 100%. Excellent ingredients, tasteful decor, sturdy serving bowls, whimsical ladles for slurping broth. Weird that the chopsticks are disposable while other utensils are not. Variety: erm. Yes for people who are not plant-based. I would love to see additional vegan options in all entree categories (tofu poke bowl, please). The veggie ramen was fabulous as was the edamame. Just more. Taste: A+. The broth was complex and glorious, the kale noodles lovely, the toppings (brussels spouts, broccoli, tofu, avocado) all prepared and seasoned perfectly. Temperature: yes. Nice and hot. Perfect. Texture: noodles were cooked perfectly with just the right amount of chew, however toppings were all pretty homogenous in texture. The raw greens on top were a little strange. It would have been nice to have a crispy or crunchy element. Value: I mean, Kiwami is a ramen place on Bardstown Road. I didn't expect a deal. I paid $20 for a bowl of ramen plus tip. Not ridiculous, but also not a price that allows me to visit as often as I would like. Overall, Kiwami has earned my respect and likely repeat business, especially if they add more vegan options and offer a repeat customer discount.

Both were very fresh and delicious. My entree was the Kiwami Shiro (pork broth, scallion, mushroom, bamboo, egg, pulled pork, sliced pork, noodles). The broth was incredible and pulled the whole thing together. I definitely want to come here again and try more items off the menu.

This was a…read morecollaborative 7-course dinner with paired wines with both the Indianapolis' Bluebeard restaurant and 610 Magnolia chefs. Unique flavors and preparations artfully presented with wonderful wine pairings. Each course was phenomenal and had over a dozen diners doing the requisite "ooooh" and "ahhhh". However, if I was forced to commit to the standout items for me, it would be: (1) the delectable pork collar that defied comprehension with how it had a sweet crunchy exterior bark yet maintained a moist and tender bite as we dug in, (2) the soft shell stuffed crab on a bed of just perfect mustard greens with a crunchy texture, (3) dessert that mimicked a cloud and included coffee "gummies" and also was paired with a delicious sherry that held its own. I felt like I needed a cigarette after this meal. I don't smoke. It was That Mind Blowing. These collaboration dinners will be held for at least the next 2 months. Very worthwhile as a fine dining experience beyond compare. Service was excellent. Restaurant decor is lovely. Street parking in surrounding area is available. Looking forward to repeating this experience every possible opportunity when available.

They were super accommodating and provided me with an individual table for myself with the consideration of food accommodations. The waiters knew how to explain all the food, and they were prompt with answering any questions. If they did not know the answer to the question they went to the kitchen to ask. Each meal had its own personality. They bought the bright and summer floral notes of the southern cuisine while at the same time bringing a home meal through the Korean cuisine as well. Each meal also had a variety of textures that complemented each other, as well as opposite flavors that checked off each taste, bud. I really appreciate the timing of each food item which allowed me to have a clean pallet coming into the next tasting. This was a wonderful experience and I highly encourage everyone to go :)

DECOR: Porch has a modern Downtown Louisville aesthetic that…read moreblends contemporary Southern style with subtle historic-industrial touches. Dark pressed ceiling panels, warm pendant lighting, brass accents, white shiplap-clad columns, and large asymmetrically framed windows give the room a clean but energetic feel. The dark wood and warm lighting keep it inviting, while the greenery and neon feature wall bring a more playful modern edge. It's clearly trendy and instagram friendly while also showing respects to Louisville's historical roots. DRINKS: They have a Myriad of inviting cocktails from Tequila, rum, and Bourbon. I ordered the Campfire Cocktail but I found it confused in identity... While not bad it's very Amaro and crème de cocoa forward, which is slightly heavy/cloying. I think it should be more graham cracker and smoky Cocoa forward. FOOD: The menu has a lot of great options the french onion soup is not my favorite but the Iceberg Wedge Salad was fantastic and comes with a giant slice of Bacon on it. The Turkey Meatloaf is southern comfort food perfection, it's dense but flavorful without being dry. The Southern Fried Chicken is a classic go too and they give you almost a whole birds worth of chicken! Making this the best value. But the Braised Short Rib was the star of the show....its pull apart tender and bursting with flavor. This ain't your mother meatloaf! DESSERT: For full transparency the menu was in change over during our visit so they really only had lots of Ice Cream.... so if you're lactose intolerant like I am it's a disappointing list. But I saw they had a Banana Carmel Bread Pudding and an Oreo Peanut Butter pie during KBF that was "To die for" from our waitress. SERVICE: Service was great, The food came out fast, and the restaurant was very accommodating. The chef even came out to greet us and was sorry about the cheesy grits so he made some fresh sautéed Green beans for me which were amazing. OVERALL: This is a solid stop for Dinner, it's hitting a lot of different niches That are great for your trendy IG post for young adults to mature couples looking for a fun date night spot. Food is also well priced and was clearly a good value.
