This Metro recently opened up at the mall a couple years after Target had closed. I recently moved…read moreback to Windsor and started working in the area, and this Metro is convenient to come to to pick up some groceries or a particular item I'm looking for. Metro seems to be improving and updating their stores to become more of a high end grocery store, and it's certainly reflecting that. This metro layout is clean, crisp and bright when you walk in. You immediately walk into the cold prepared food section and there are salads and cold sandwiches to your left, in front of you is the produce area and to the right of that are the hot prepared meals. The aisles are clean and they have a wine & beer section, complete with a separate cash register and someone who specifically works in that section. Along the furthest corner is the fridge & frozen section and at the back is the meat counter. The night I went, I picked up a bbq'd whole chicken for dinner, as well as a few misc items to make hummus. Metro can have some good sales, because I've price matched from here, but otherwise since they want to label themselves as a high end grocery store, their items are a bit more on the expensive side; especially their produce. They do collect Air Miles and if you have enough, you can cash them out too. This new, nice, clean upscale grocery store is great to pick up a few items, but they don't price match and majority of their items in stock are more on the expensive side. I am most likely to return here again, to pick up a few items, but not as a my regular weekly grocery store.

We were here for the alcohol since one local told us that we can still buy alcohol by 10pm. So we made it just in time. The #1 reason why I came in here to post, I wanted to thank one of the cashiers for her help. Our phone didn't work and couldn't call Uber but she was like, "Let me call you a cab.". Nonchalantly....maybe this happens often, but this was the first for us. Thank you for helping us out. We made it safely to the hotel silly tourists hahhahaa.

Consistent and well-stocked, this location will not only meet your budget, but, also your food choice selection list. The only thing that comes to mind on the subject of improvement, would be the re-instatement of the enhanced cleaning of shopping carts in light of the increasing Covid-Delta numbers for Windsor-Essex. I am certain this "high traffic food retailer" would not want to lose one customer due to Covid spreading via the shopping carts. --Satisfied and Loyal, ... Katherine Wallace, Windsor, ON

This place is fantastic if you want chips cheaper than what they sell in the grocery stores. The…read moreonly caveat is that they have limited hours and it's hard to make a trip out there. The parking situation is also iffy, but there are usually spots. As you pull up, you can see them making the fried potatoes (in my case, it was the potato sticks) through the window and a then them being packaged! I wish they had a factory tour, but c'est la vie. I entered the store and was greeted by a security guard, and the cashiers were behind bullet-proof glass. Additionally, most of the chips and products were behind the glass, although there is a fun little display of Better Made T shirts and swag. There were so many varieties of snacks so it was difficult to order, but that fact probably saved my waistline. It was also difficult to find prices for the items. There's a minimum of $5 for credit card purchases.

Metro likes to value themselves as a higher end grocery store and offer the best products, more on the expensive side, and they don't price match, so I find if this is your regular grocery store, you are paying a bit more than others. This location is not a Metro Plus location, so it doesn't have fresh made pizza's or sushi, but does offer a small selection of such, but they do offer an arrange of fresh meats, fish, salads, soups, and ready to eat meals as well as fresh bakery goods. This location carries my absolute favourite pasta salad - pasta, arugula and feta salad. Their are no self registers at this location, the staff are usually fairly nice, but don't like to communicate and try to get out out as quickly as possible making very little eye contact. Overall, great location in a very small, dead mall, reasons to come back: the pasta salad.
