Less than 1 star for this company. They installed the HVAC system in my house incorrectly. Then once we had system corrected we asked them to come out & rebalance our system, they refuse they said it was done once when the original HVAC system & that's all we get? Wow. We have no heat/AC flow in our front 2 rooms of our house when they came out (twice) they said the airflow is fine? Is it really normal to not have heat & AC in your bedrooms? Beyond difficult to work with save your time & energy & go with a real company. I truly cannot believe they are still in business after the way they treat their customers. read more

I am a homeowner in Nexton I purchased a DRB home Fogel installed the. HVAC . Fogel recently came out to do a "balancing" on the system because one of the front rooms was much hotter than the other rooms. The balancing has now changed it so that the master bedroom has hardly any air flow and is about 10 degrees warmer than the other rooms including the hallway. The entire house is cool except for the master bedroom bathroom and closet. I was told by the tech Cody I am A liar and he "sorry I feel That way" and he has proof the airflow is to code. He blames DRB and says it's a design flaw. I asked To speak to a manger and he told me he's it there is no one else and that I have To just deal with it. I'm going to take this as far as I can To make sure it is fixed. To spend this type of money on a home and for it to be brand new and the HVAC to have these issues is unacceptable the customer service is atrocious with this company and if I could give zero stars I would Appalling is an understatement. Do not use this company- they have unskilled worker, unprofessional staff. I have a unit in my home that was originally installed in a brand new home 5years ago and they did poor ductwork and they are now saying that the complete deterioration of their work is normal wear and tear. Ductwork, if done properly is supposed to last 10-15 year. Then said I am supposed to be up in a tiny crawl space masking and replacing their work regularly. I have owned several homes for over 20 years and have never had an issue like this. Secondly, they sent technicians out here 2 years ago who were here for almost 3 years and never took pictures of the ductwork to show any signs of the deterioration. The state that it is now, would have shown something 2 years ago. The unit outside has several cracks and now the entire unit needs to be replaced after only 5 years due the Freon product being updated and they are saying there is no warranty at all for this very expensive replacement. Or they are being vague. They also lied about their previous visit, saying I refused proper service. They are an extremely dishonest company as well and do not do anything to stand behind their work, even though the manager Christie Wheeler said they would. There are at least 5 other homes with the exact same issues that had to be diagnosed by other HVAC companies. That's why there is a class action lawsuit that is going on with Fogel as one of the subcontractors of the builder. Beware of using this company for anything. AC went out - I immediately called Fogel as the air went out at 3pm on the hottest day of the year. When tech arrived at 8pm he informed me the Compressor had gone out and would need a new one. With the unit being 8 years old he advised to replace the entire unit. Cost would be $15K. The compressor would be appx $5k. He encouraged me to agree to this at 9:30 at night. I told him I had to get several estimates before making this decision. The owner of the company texted him and told him to tell me he would match the quotes I got and no one could install quicker than they could. I told him I still had to get them. Next day, Five Star AC came out first thing in the am. Ran the serial number on the compressor to find out that it was still under warranty. It would only cost $2K! They did their homework. Had my unit up and running in 24 hours. The crazy thing is - Fogel installed the Compressor and unit originally. They should have known it was still under warranty! And that's just it - I'm sure they did but tried to sell me something I didn't need anyway. Wow. Just wow. This is terrible. So any opportunity I have to tell this story I sure will. Would give negative stars if I could. They have been the most unprofessional and unreliable service / company I've ever dealt with. During our first 6 month maintenance appointment. The first fogel "tech" did unauthorized adjustments to our hvac unit with out using a manual. Which turned our master bedroom into a sauna in the summer and a freezer in the winter. Called fogel services to get it rebalanced and tested and have been getting no where with the two employees if have yet to assist me with even a phone call back after 5 months of trying to get in contact. Then a follow up service technician (Jerry) for our next 6 month maintenance, informed us that the previous tech should not have made any adjustments to our hvac system without the manual and that he indeed messed up our system. And even put in his notes that we need to get the hvac rebalanced and perform a data logger test. And we still have yet to hear from them. If this company has any integrity the supervisor/ manager Michael will reach out and fix these issues. read more

After 11 years having this company performed HVAC services on the units that were installed by them originally, suddenly, after the Parts and Labor warranty expired, I developed a CRATER type leak on my air handler's Coil. So, since the unit was last inspected, with ZERO issues for the upcoming Summer in April 2024, to the next inspection in March 2025, while the A/C portion of the system had run for no more than four months, I developed a CRATER size leak on the air handler's Coil: (i.e., 430psi of Nitro dissipating in less than 7 days). It is obvious that from looking at the amount of corrosion and liquified freeon oil on the air handler's Coil, that the Coil has had a LEAK for several years. But, since being honest would have meant a FREE system (i.e., parts and labor), due to my warranties, the easiest and most profitable avenue for the company to take is to LIE to the customer. At the very least, my long-time technician should had flagged the corroded state of the air handler's coil, instead of indicating that everything looked great (i.e., while pictures of my air handler's Coil will say otherwise). I was a fool by putting my trust and good judgement on a company and "a" technician, both of which deceive me and cost me thousands of dollars on a new unit! There are a number of lessons here: 1) Don't put blind trust in a company and its employees (i.e., a technician in this case), 2) Supervised the work being performed, so there are less number of surprises, 3) Question everything about what is being done, like it or not, and 4) Make sure you get all of the documentation that supports the work being performed, in detail, and 5) DO NOT USE FOGEL!!! read more

Air conditioner went out on Saturday AM called Fogel who came out but indicated their diagnostic fee on weekends was higher than during the week and would be $128.00. Technician arrived on time and within the appointment window and diagnosed the problem as the compressor wire to the capacitor had melted and was disconnected. Cost to replace the wire was $245.00 so the total cost was $373.00 for ten minutes of work to replace the wire. I reluctantly paid. I later called the company to complain about the price and to see if an adjustment could be made and was essentially told the price is the price. read more

We have had nothing but problems with the air conditioner maintaining the set temperature and with high humidity! we have had 6 different calls with Fogel with no resolution. They installed a 2 ton condenser with a 3 ton coil on a 1507 sq ft home! A 2 ton air conditioner WILL NOT handle the square footage and thy know it!! This company is the installer for my home that was a new construction home. The A/C doesn't cool the home. They came out 5 times and keep telling me that the system is working as intended. I was told I could purchase a system that was not builder grade if I wanted it to cool the house to my expectation, my expectation of 70 - 72 degrees. Now that it's winter the heater doesn't work. I called for help and they are trying to charge me to come out. The system is just over a year old I've had issues the whole time. Updated - Problem not resolved after contact with a manager. I called Fogel Services for an air conditioning repair because my line was freezing and unit short cycling leading to high temperatures in my house. The first technician came out on 7/7/22 and told me there was not enough Freon because someone had not screwed a cap on tight enough. He told me that he added coolant and I paid $144 for coolant and service visit. I did not receive a receipt or description of what they did. The problem with my air conditioning persisted. Second technician came out on 7/13 and told me that the first technician had overcharged the system and put too much coolant in. No charge, but no written report given of what was done. *Technicians from the same company were disagreeing on what the problem was and how they managed it!* Both of these technicians were very young and seemed inexperienced. Problem was not fixed. I called Fogel Services and asked for a more experienced technician to come out. They told me NO. I then asked for my money back because their website says 100% satisfaction money back guarantee for all heating and cooling services and was told that the owner said NO. I had been without a/c for over 2 weeks at this point so I called a second company. This company found one cap loose and one left off by the Fogel Services Technicians - Fogel Services HAD DRAINED ALL OF MY FREON. I had to pay $1200 for the Freon that the second Fogel Services technician drained out of my system when he tried to fix the "overcharged system" and left the cap off. Fogel services tried to tell me I have a major leak and sent me $59 in compensation.... I do not have a major leak, my a/c works great after the other company. In fact they gave me a 3 year warranty on freon they were so sure of Fogel Service's error. The issue I have is with their incompetent technicians that cost me $1200. I have contacted their licensing board and the better business bureau as this is outrageous and they shouldn't be allowed to operate. read more

We have absolutely no recourse. No one in that office has ever returned our calls. They took $25,000 and ran. Literally stole our money. Worst absolutely worst company Ever! read more

Been in this home 2.5 years. Last year a/c went out upstairs, they said it was a bad part. We replaced it for $500. Today, less than 1 year later, it went out again. Fogel wants $85 for diagnostic. I'm writing this review in hopes it helps someone else who is going through something similar to my situation. I bought a new build home in March of 2023. Once the summer heat started, we noticed our air unit just couldn't keep up. We would see temps as high as 77° on our thermostat upstairs. I was shocked considering this is a new build. I've lived in Nevada in the desert and in old homes and have never had an issue with my unit not staying within a couple of degrees in the summer. We also put thermostats in our two kids' rooms upstairs, and their rooms were just as hot. We called Fogel out, and they discovered no dampers were ever installed (which happened to a lot of homes in our neighborhood), and they also recommend balancing all the vents. They did all that, and we never saw any improvement. They finally agreed to do temp logs, but by that point it was September and the temps were not the same as July and August, so of course once the data was pulled from the logs they said there was no issue and our unit was performing properly. We did a little of our own research and found we have a 2 ton unit. We live in a two story home that is 2135 square feet. A one story home in our neighborhood is 1542 square feet, and they also all have two ton units. The next home above ours is 2345 square feet, and they have a 3 ton unit. We found a home in our neighborhood that is the same exact build as ours, but they were given a 3 ton unit. We also know they installed the wrong size unit in another home in our neighborhood, and they had to replace the unit. The front of our home receives the most sun in the hottest part of the day, which includes our loft and our two kids' bedrooms. This summer alone, I've seen it reach 77° in my kids' rooms. I called to have temps logs done again, and they had no issue coming back out and doing them again, which I appreciated. I got a call this morning from a dispatcher who informed me my appointment has been canceled. She said the other dispatcher should have never agreed to send the temp logs back out bc they've already been done. We went back and forth, and she kept saying she's just doing what her manager told her to do. I voiced my frustrations about my kids' rooms being so hot at night, and the only response I get is that everything is working according to their standards. I asked to speak to the owner, and she told me the owner would not meet with us. She said she could provide my number to a manager, but don't expect to hear from one this week!!! I have called so many times and complained about how hot my home gets upstairs and how hot it is in my children's rooms, and no one at Fogel has seemed to care. I have had Fogel technicians come in my home and tell me to add blackout curtains and ceiling fans, and i went with their advice. Every room upstairs has blackout curtains. Every room has a ceiling fan. Nothing has helped, and nothing has worked because our unit is undersized. I hope this review helps anyone looking to use Fogel or anyone buying a new home. Do your research and see who the builders are using to put in units. So many homes in our neighborhood have had issues with their air units. This has been a complete nightmare. I would have never imagined in my brand new home that I would have to suffer through the summer. I also never thought I would have to buy portable air units just so my kids could sleep comfortably in my new build, but here we are. I'm sad to see the less than good reviews. We've had a contract with Fogel Services for over 7 years now and they have been nothing short of excellent. I just had a service call and Jaylen was the tech that came out and I sound like a broken record that he was professional, kind, and explained everything to me. I've never felt like they sell me on things to be fixed just to pocket the money and when we have had problems in the past they are always a huge help in a timely manner. Yes, I know for those that didn't have a good experience will roll their eyes at my 5 star rating but for those future customers....give them a call. We have been using Fogel now for about 18 months and even when they make a mistake, they are still professional and courteous. We live in a new construction house that they did the install for so they were included in our 1 year home warrantee. During that time, our AC went out once and I called the main number that was answered quickly and clearly. A tech was sent quickly and the repair was relatively painless (and no charge). Now we have a choice for preventative maintenance and we decided to give them a chance. Here's where the mistakes were made (and handled gracefully). Admittedly, I started the process for an "April May" visit late- in the middle of May, and my schedule is pretty limited as to when I could be available for a visit. So the first visit was scheduled towards the end of May- it was a morning appointment so I took the first half of the day off from work. About half way through the appointment time, I called to make sure the tech was coming and I was told that they had had so many emergency calls that day- it has to be moved to the afternoon. I was not able to do that so it was rescheduled. They were very apologetic for this happening- and similar things happened for the next scheduled visit. That time Christie at the main office told me she was assigning my job to a different tech- Bruce Smith. Bruce came promptly as promised, was great at his job and it was a pleasure working with him! People and companies make mistakes. It is not too common these days to work with a company who will admit they made a mistake and handle it gracefully. For this, together with the quality of their work, I recommend Fogel very highly and in the future I will request Bruce! read more

The technician John reset my thermostat, He explained because of the way it was programmed that caused it to stop at a certain temperature. He also found a wire that was not connected to the HVAC unit which is why the fan was not running, Thanks to kind dispatchers I spoke with the day before and sending John to solve my issue who was professional and friendly. read more

This company is one of the absolute worst on every level. They were hired as the hvac sub on our new house so we've been forced to try to get them to do their job. They placed a unit on our property that was supposed to supply air conditioning to the FROG, but they never installed it. It sat there for a year, when inspection time came, they promised it'd work by closing. It mostly worked for 2 days, cooled off at night but didn't cool enough during the day... and then broke. It's been almost 3 weeks in the middle of summer with no AC for our high schooler who lives in that space. I've called Fogel repeatedly and they have done everything under the sun to not take responsibility for this problem and to make sure they didn't do anything extra to expedite the process. It seems they realized they aren't going to make money bc this was their mistake so they're trying to delay until after the warranty period. I've been repeatedly promised that they will call me, that a part has been ordered, it's it on the way, blah blah blah, so many broken promises. These people are liars, they seem to have zero pride in their work, they gaslight unhappy customers instead of actually fixing the problem. They shouldn't be in the hvac business since they can't find a way to 1. Actually install the unit 2. Fix the problem in a timely manner (or at all?) 3. Be willing to expedite shipping or keep parts on hand- especially when it's their fault there's a problem 4. Have customer service skills when a customer is frustrated and very unhappy with their poor work. I am looking into lemon laws, contacting the BBB, trying to get the home warranty people to do something and looking hard at our contract to see what can be done. So, you know how you buy a house and have a to-do list that will take a few years to complete? We bought our house (early 60s) about 5 years ago and of course we had a long list. The AC unit just turned 15 years old and definitely at the end of its life. Some parts of the house were cooler than others. We definitely did not have consistency! Fogel services changed the way we enjoy our house! They were reliable, quick, efficient and reasonably priced. Their team was great to work with and very polite! We chose the mini split option for our main living room. The size was perfect for our family room and it's very impactful! I didn't realize how brutal July and August were inside the home. We would always chose that time to travel or find somewhere else to be during the heat of the day. Currently, our issue is that our house actually gets cold during the heat of the day! I don't understand these poor reviews from others! We've used Fogel's services for 5 years in the Summerville area and have had really pleasant experiences. We've had a service plan for years. Fogel is proactive and contacts us twice a year to get the preventative maintenance / checks scheduled. We've seen the same service technician for years and recently found out that he was promoted to the service tech manager (Jasper). I couldn't be happier that they've promoted within. Our new experience with service technician Taylor this week was great. He knew exactly what the issue was, replaced the part and was on his way. I would highly recommend using Fogel if you're in the Summerville area! PS - Even the ladies in the office answering the phone, fielding the issues and prioritizing the schedules do an amazing job. Two of the service calls we had to call the office to ask where the service person was only to find that we weren't on their schedule, so we had waited around all day for nothing. We had Fogel out a couple of weeks ago to do a cleaning and inspection on our AC unit as we were on the market. The technician was rude but hey we all have bad days and it was hot no big deal. We just had our home inspection done and it shows an issue so I call them back and email them a copy of the report showing the said issue. They told me that the home inspector is false and that they would send me the info on how it was to be properly inspected and if I wanted it reevaluated they were going to charge me a 2nd service fee even though their work is backed and we paid for an additional service followup. Frustrated at being charged for them rechecking the work I said I wouldn't use them any further if that was the case. They said they would email the info i needed if i wasn't going to pay. Just to email me and say they are refusing to email me the info because I said I wouldn't use them in the future on a recorded line and they will mail me a check for the service I had already pre paid for. We bought 4 systems for our new house from this company. We have many areas that have no air and circulation. Either the you are freezing or burning up as the thermostat won't cut off/turn on because there is no air circulating around it. Had previously used Fogel Services professionally for years as a Construction Project Manager and thought Fogel would be a good HVAC vendor for our home. June 4, 2018 paid for scheduled inspection and service; no issues noted/reported. August 12, 2018 paid $131.15 for AC repair, advised Transfer Valve (TXV) was "sticking" and no need to replace TXV. August 14th saw wet spot in ceiling, and eventually found plenum leaking, as well as new damage to plenum insulation (likely from Fogel Technician). August 18th advised we need a new Transfer Valve (quoted $712.00) after water damage caused ceiling to fall down. August 20th Randall Fogel advised that technician did the "right thing" by not initially replacing the Transfer Valve because technicians are advised not to recommend expensive repairs except when "absolutely necessary." read more
