The battery would not fit inside the compartment, besides that the exterior of the laptop was free from any major damage (though it was worn in from 10+ years of use). I was told the brand new (still in package, purchased from Walmart ) flash drive I brought in did not work, so I was put in a situation where it was easiest to purchase what they had. I did not want to complicate things, so I went ahead and gave them the ok... When I went to go pick it up I was kind of surprised at the price, it was a tad bit more than the rough estimate I received over the phone from Ben. But that wasn't an issue, I was excited to finally get my beloved data! I was so excited I did not fully realize how much of a makeover ole' Joe did on my beloved MacBook. It now makes sense why he was pushing me to recycle it, get rid of the evidence of his HORRENDOUS work. My mind is absolutely blown he could keep a straight face when he handed me this laptop. He seemed agitated that I asked him to screw the housing back together, it was literally wide open, you could see the motherboard as clear as day. He snapped it back together and then mentioned there were some more screws, which he did not offer to put back in. So I had to say: "yes Joe I want the screws from my laptop". This would be obvious to anyone besides a Genius like Joe. I would NEVER bring anything to these people EVER again. I literally cannot believe the damage he did to my laptop. He completely ruined it. I had the laptop previously looked at and it would of cost $3-$400 to fix, at the time I opted out to just buy a new laptop and recover the data later. I wanted to hang on to the first generation MacBook Pro because it was something special to me, I liked having the possibility of having it fixed. Now it is literally DEMOLISHED. Look at the final invoice under Notes: "4. Reassembled device ....." Look at the picture! This is what he deems as a "reassembled device". Literally wide open with tons of screws missing and the keyboard completely torn up. Joe you are a Genius!

I ended up meeting with him and giving him my laptop, which he "overhauled" and made it run superbly and it is still running like a top! I was and continue to be so very happy with the work he did. Consequently, I also had him install new WiFi and assisting devices (forgot what you call them) throughout our place in Maine - and, again, he installed the equipment and it runs "like a top" for all our many devices. I truly meant to write a review back two years ago, but life gets in the way. The 19th annual Photo a Go-Go Exhibit and Auction at The Bakery Photo Collective featured…read morephotographs from established and emerging photographers. There was a wide range of styles and formats, as well as a wide range of prices - $100 to around $2000. When you enter the exhibit you are given a number and a form to fill out to be used with bidding on the photographs. Each photograph has a retail value - if you are willing to pay the retail value, you can bid that and it is yours. Otherwise you can enter a bid and put your assigned number next to it and can continue to bid until the auction ends. If you need to leave before the end of the auction, they will call or email you if your bid is accepted. Unfortunately (or fortunately since I was getting up there in #'s) I was outbid on the pieces I bit on. The auction was very well attended, perhaps not just due to the opportunity to see some beautiful art, but also to see rockabilly band King Memphis rock the house, and enjoy the free food (cold cuts, veggie platters, dolmas, pita and hummus) and free drinks. Photo A Go-Go supports the Bakery Photo Collective's darkroom and digital facilities on Forest Avenue, and provides funding for educational workshops and artist-lectures series.
