Briefest review: Unprofessional and incompetent Just some basic unequivocal observations of my experience. Dr. Lori has difficulty properly calibrating eye prescriptions. Dr. Lori has repeatedly and casually cursed in front of 11-year-old children. Dr. Lori has required a patient to make several trips to her office and still provided inaccurate contact prescriptions. Especially for a pair of readers…read more Hidden costs for macular degeneration testing, their statement shows $0 charge, but the test is sent to Arctic which then bills you for the lab results. If you don't suspect any problems with macular degeneration don't have them do the swab tests. Previously, another doctor could look into the eyes and determine if their may be an issue. No further testing necessary. Also, I don't remember their the staff informing me of the results. One more thing, a pair of readers is precisely for a particular distance, their prescription is not forgiving outside of that given distance, even a few inches. If you only need readers stick to a very good generic pair. Save your money. This is only my opinion.

I went for an exam and new glasses. The glasses cost me more than $300 (after insurance - mostly…read moredue to the lens charge). I couldn't wear the glasses at all. It was like I was wearing someone else's glasses. They made me sick to my stomach. The staff was very helpful and had me come back. They tweaked my prescription and remade the glasses- still made me sick to wear them. I called back and the person who answered the phone said my complaint sounded like what people say when they can't adjust to the new lens material (my glasses had the "old" polymer material) but she wasn't the doctor so couldn't say anything. They refunded me $64 for the frames but kept giving me the runaround on a lens refund. Went to another eye doctor. They said right away my complaints sounded like when people can't tolerate the new lens material. Had to pay out of pocket for an exam there (bc my insurance already paid for Dr. Johnson's exam). The prescription was very close to what Dr. Johnson found. I had to pay fully out of pocket for new glasses in the old polymer material but the glasses are perfect. I can wear them without getting sick. So it WAS a material issue. Dr. Johnson's office refuses to return my phone calls now and I am out around $250 for glasses they have in their possession (I gave them back when I couldn't wear them). My son (who wears glasses and contacts) and I were both patients there. Apparently, keeping my $250 is more important to Dr. Johnson than keeping two patients - both in contacts and glasses - in his practice. I would highly advise avoiding this guy.
