It was sprinkled with powdered sugar. It was crispy, flaky, slightly sweet, and went well with my espresso. So, that was my breakfast, and then I went back to get a sampler of their other pasticce, which included mini versions of many Italian desserts, including cream puffs, tiramisu, these Italian meringue cookies with nuts, apricot-jam-filled shortbread, and some other cookies. I love that they offer mini sizes of their desserts, because then you can try a lot of them and not feel too gluttonous! Be aware that they only take cash for anything under $10 euros. There is plenty of outdoor seating.

Al ritiro si presentano con una torta che alla vista mi ha deluso (era per 7 persone scarse), chiedo il prezzo e mi viene detto che costava 45€. Faccio presente che al telefono mi era stato detto diversamente. La commessa chiama il Pasticciere che ripesa la torta e dice non sono 45€ bensì 42,27. Sconcertato, chiedo se si possa arrotondare a 40€ e lui acconsente e fa per portarsi in laboratorio la torta. Alchè chiedo stupido: 'ma cosa fa?' e mi viene risposto: 'la pasticceria va a peso, tolgo la frutta che c'è sopra' (faccio presente trattasi di due pezzettini in croce). Esterrefatto dal comportamento dico di lasciare stare e che pagherò il prezzo pieno.Non ci tornerò e la sconsiglio vivamente a chiunque.

The night we ate there it was filled with a mixture of tourists and locals. No English menu but one of the waitresses was Argentine so we ordered in Spanish. Lots of super fresh seafood. If you want a table outside, call in advance and make a reservation. One complaint and maybe this is a cultural thing: a couple sitting at the bar had their dog with them. A large dog. The dog barked -- very loudly -- almost the whole time we were at the restaurant. The guy shouted at his dog from time to time, but other than that did nothing. You would have thought the couple would have taken the dog for a walk and returned when he had calmed down. Or that the owner would have said something. Nope. I found it distracting. The other customers seemed pretty chill.

I had the clams with white wine garlic sauce and pasta and my wife had the lasagna. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was rich and flavorful. Fresh basil and tomatoes tossed in as well. I was grateful for the extra bread on the table so I could soak up any renaming sauce. The lasagna was probably the best lasagna I had on our 10 day trip in Venice and I ate all the way from Lido to Mestre. The lasagna had a folded in cheese that had a smooth, velvet like texture and was amazingly rich. Great little family owned restaurant with an awesome staff. From the outside it doesn't look like much but the food is definitely worth stopping in for.
