No wonder they are in their fourth generation of candy makers. We had a small bag of "Chippers", which simply out is rippled potato chips drenched in a thick blanket of milk chocolate. What a sinfully great combination! We also had a one-pound Assorted Chocolate Gift Box that came packaged in a gold gift box. It was an eclectic mix of milk, dark, and white chocolate creams, jellies, solid chocolates, and nut clusters with a few Jordan Almonds tossed in for good measure. The chocolate was high quality, and we really enjoyed them.

Store was quite busy with I would say about 10-12 people, I get to the counter and ask for a box of "Chippers" which I was then told the price of and realized maybe I should get a second box being the price was lower than what I was expecting/allowing to spend. The woman behind the counter then told me if I was wanting a second box I would have to go to the end and get back in line. I initially thought she may have been joking, but was being quite serious, and I again reassured, "get back in line for a second box of chippers that you just pulled out from a box behind the counter?" to which she replied "Yes." I replied with "No I don't want to do all of that I'll just take the one then." Which was no issue at all, slight confusion on my part but I respected the rules that were in place. What I then had an issue with was in reply to my comment about just taking the one box, the employee then said something under her breath and chuckled along with another coworker all while swiping my card for payment. At this point I was embarrassed and didn't want to continue at all with how I felt at the moment. Kind of a "Oh I came in here to get my family in on what I hear is amazing chocolate, just to get laughed at amongst employees behind the counter" moment. Honestly nothing crazy, but leaving the store after that small occurrence made me not want the product altogether, linking it to a bad experience with the employees. Great products and all but the experience left a bad taste in my mouth and a feeling of regret for stopping in altogether.

My husband and I stopped by for gelato on a Sunday afternoon. We didn't bother to check the hours…read moreof operation because the 'open' sign was on. So inside we went and picked out our gelato. The owner was friendly and polite. He even took a picture of us when we asked. The gelato was TASTY. When we left we noticed that he turned off the open sign, then we realized we had went in at closing time. I was Very impressed we weren't rushed out, or told that it was closing. Classy! 5 stars!

It's all about the dough(I believe they had six different types)! I died and went to cookie dough heaven so much so that I went the two days that I was visiting Fargo. It's tucked in a quaint alley, I had to ask some locals where to find it and the walking in circles was SO entirely worth it. You can get ice cream, ice cream and cookie dough, cookie dough, popcorn, or all of the above! Each time I opted for a scoop of dough (okay maybe two scoops the first day) and a scoop of ice cream. The gentleman behind the counter helped me the first time and suggested I get vanilla ice cream, chocolate chip cookie dough, and peanut butter cookie dough. Drool. I dreamt about that all night which is what prompted me to return the next afternoon. This time I settled for one scoop of dough and one scoop of ice cream. I somehow couldn't justify six scoops of sugary goodness in less than 24 hours. The place is small and there was a line each time but they're very efficient and the wait was minimal. They have a few tables inside and a table or two outside in the alley way where you can watch people on a nice summer afternoon or evening. If I didn't live two plane flights away from this place I'd be in serious danger.

This is somewhere I love to take people who haven't been to Fargo much. It's something that most all people can enjoy, plus the shop is super cute. It's in a newly modernized alley of downtown called Robert's Alley, which can be confusing to find until you are a little more familiar with the area. I think there is maybe a parking garage nearby but your best option is to just park along the street or somewhere downtown and walk. You can only get to Scoop N Dough by walking, biking, or other non-motorized vehicular routes. Though the experience of cookie dough & ice cream is great, I do think it's pretty extravagant. The cookie dough is incredibly sweet and rich, and I can never finish my cup because it almost makes my stomach hurt, it's just too much for me. So that's just a warning- it still tastes fantastic and is fun to try at least once. And I did see they are getting another location along 32nd Ave, almost in West Fargo, which is cool!

I finally went in because I took a wrong turn and was hungry. Wow. It's nice and clean. Everyone I dealt with was friendly. So, good first impression. I was pleasantly surprised when my food came out in a cool little skillet thing, and was not the elbow-mac I'd imagined, but the cool hollow spiral thingies. The googles tell me that it's cavatappi pasta. It tasted fantastic, but the real surprise was that it was actually spicy! Yeah, the menu goes into detail about what's in it, but in this area, people can't seem to handle almost any heat, so it was yet another pleasant surprise. We go here to get awesome Asian sauces, (Oyster sauce is a must for amazing beef & broccoli stir fry.) cooking wines, produce, Bulgarian feta cheese, plantains, sesame seeds, spices, herbs, bok choy, mushrooms, aloe vera leaves, etc. (A lot of great items.) Then we usually take risks and find many other fantastic and unique items that normal grocery stores simply don't carry. They have a great selection of noodles too. The prices are reasonable and one of the key reasons to shop here. We used to have drive all the way to the Twin Cities to do our Asian Grocery shopping. Lotus Blossom changed that. Carefully plan ahead, do a lot of Asian / African foods research as it can be overwhelming, make a list and spend almost an hour looking around, take notes. There is a LOT to see and learn about. The owners are awesome. We come here every season to stock up then rush home to get cooking superbly amazing food!!! Love this store! There was an issue with the order, and I received a personal text message very shortly afterward that one of the items in the gift basket was out of stock and that there was a substitution. The person who contacted me was extremely apologetic, offered a substitution, and refunded my order, even though I didn't really think that the substitution was a very big deal. Obviously customer service is very important to them. Sometimes these things happen, but it's always wonderful to see a business that goes above and beyond to make sure that its customers are happy and get what they pay for. Would definitely patronize (and pay full price) again.
