A highlight of any visit to Flam! The Flam Marina Restaurant offers an exquisite view of the main harbor's opening into the fjord, and it's the perfect place for a delicious, relaxing meal and beverage. The staff care about keeping the outdoor spaces clean and inviting (we saw a manager not only wiping tables but even the salt and pepper shakers). Our server, Alan, provided excellent service with the cheeriest of smiles, and he offered helpful suggestions about the menu (such as doing a half-and-half pizza when I couldn't decide between two options). We also ordered fantastic a fish dish, wine, and two tasty desserts here. The restaurant and attached rooms are only a short walk from the piers and other nearby hotels, and the views here are the best you'll find in all of Flam. Absolutely wonderful!

This location is something from a dream. Walking up to heavenly views and being greeted with excellent customer service. We enjoyed the seafood and burgers which were made to perfection. We had the best seat in the house! This location is walking distance from many places because of the dock. It is a great swimming location too. Wow, just wow!

Stopped in for a light lunch while staying in this small town during the off-season (early December). Having researched every single restaurant available in the area within walking distance (Flåm is a small town of about 350 people), this place seemed like a perfect lunch spot. And it was. This wonderful little restaurant is located beneath the "Flam Marina Apartments" on the eastern shore. It's a five minute walk from just about anywhere in the port area. During the winter months, their glass-covered porch has portable heaters and blankets. We opted for that area and although it was about 25 degrees Fahrenheit outside, we were warm and comfortable inside. We opted for a very light lunch of fish soup. The soup was included tasty pieces of salmon, mussels, and white fish. The broth was absolutely delicious. The soup came with a couple pieces of warm bread drizzled with what prepared to be some seasoned olive oil. We used the bread to soak up every last drop of the soup. Service was helpful and friendly. We would definitely be back to explore more of them menu. Did I mention the spectacular view of the fjord from our table? Wow!

Views are over the top. Incredibly friendly service and a well rounded menu that also keeps the kids happy. Worth the walk across the marina - stop and smell the flowers on the way.

Very good views over the fjord and Harbour, but the meal itself was nothing to write home about Most of us had the sirloin. While it was tender, it was cooked well done (wasn't asked for our preference), and my squash and champignons were slightly cold The burger was served with bacon even though it was requested without, and the bread had been warmed too long so it was a bit too dry The mud slide for dessert was however very good!

Flam...a small town engineered as a transport hub and built especially for tourists. PRICE: about $155, which was the cheapest in this artificial town. For what we got it was quite nice. I'm too old for hostels. LOCATION: Its about 400yards from the train station and Norled dock, which can be annoying in the rain. However, the gorgeous fjord view from your room will more than make up for it! ROOM: Or should I say 2 bedroom apartment with kitchenette and fjord view balcony? We got Room #1. Quite nice! But could use some art work and the dirty electric tea kettles need to be replaced. You must also clean your own dishes and cups before you leave or else face a 200kr fee. It was difficult to manage the water temperature in the shower as well. BREAKFAST: Not included, and the cafe doesn't open till 13:00. So be sure to pick up some groceries and the local Coop Market. CAFE: Quite nice and reasonable for Norway. 155kr Fish N Chips reminded us of Ireland. 79kr fish soup was tasty too. STAFF: Friendly enough. Checking in and out was easy and fast. Nice place overall, especially the million dollar fjord view each room comes with. Its just too bad Flam itself isn't a real Norwegian town. (Note: At time of this review, the US dollar was up 50% against the Norway kroner...$1 = 7.5kr vs $1 = 5kr just a couple years ago)

This hotel/apartment was perfection - it was quiet, out of the way, cozy and the views are stunning. We did not eat at a the restaurant, so this is just a review of the accommodations. The apartments are two bedroom/one bath with bunk beds in one of the bedrooms, so if you have a family or a group, it sleeps 4-6 depending on how you situate everyone. The bedrooms have no windows which was the only thing that sort of bothered me because I felt very boxed in at night, but it wasn't the end of the world. There's a small studio-type kitchen that is fully stocked with any kitchen supply you may possibly need. Which is perfect because making a meal in your hotel/apartment is probably the first meal you will have as a traveller in Norway that doesn't cost $80 for 2 people. The bathroom is stocked with linens, toilet paper and hand soap but that's about it. You will definitely need to bring your own toiletries (but there is a small market in Flåm that stocks anything you would possibly need for a night or two if you forget anything, plus reasonably priced food, of course). You will need to do your own housekeeping and do your own dishes before you leave. Unless you are some kind of slob monster, this shouldn't be a challenge for any grown adult. This hotel is a very easy 5-ish minute walk from the train station and the town center. There is a pier that you can follow the entire way - no need to walk on the road, which we did before we realized the pier actually does wrap all the way around basically to the front door of the hotel. The road is very twisty and kind of scary because you can't see around the bend. Be safe and follow the pier. We spent two lovely nights in Flåm and got to spend two mornings sipping coffee and enjoying the gorgeous view off the patio. Every apartment has a patio that looks out into the fjord which is the main reason we chose this lodging. It was the best possible choice and I'm so glad we had the experience. Don't hesitate to stay here, you will love it. If I ever find myself back in this corner of the world, I would definitely stay here again.

If you love a good view, this place should be at the top of your list. The rooms are massive by European standards. Rooms come with a kitchenette so you can cook simple meals if you'd like. It's a short walk along the pier to reach here. Flåm is a small little town, so it's easy to navigate.

This review is strictly for the restaurant and food, and not for the apartments, since we didn't stay overnight here. I found this via Yelp (thanks fellow Yelpers!) and couldn't have been more pleased with our dinner here for our one night in Flam. There's no real sign that this place is also a restaurant, so don't be fooled that it only looks like a hotel / apartments for rent. You can actually dine outside on the patio with a view that most hotels, restaurants and people would kill for. In most other cities, a restaurant with this view would be overly crowded, loud, and expensive, with everyone clammoring to eat as close to the water as possible. Instead, this place was empty and it made for a very peaceful and lovely dinner on the patio. They have blankets and heat lamps so that you won't be cold. The food was pretty good, and probably some of the best that you can get in Flam. It's a pretty small town, so the options are fairly limited. We got a delicious piece of salmon - it was fresh, the fillet was quite large, and it was perfectly cooked so that it was slightly rare in the middle. We also got a pizza which was a decent size. It has tomato sauce, parmesan, thin slices of ham, and a little bit of arugula on top. We were hungry so it great that this was filling enough and it was tasty. I would definitely come back here for the restaurant and would also love to stay in these apartments if I need lodging in Flam. Come here at least for dinner: both the food and views are worth a short 10 min trek here (from the train station)

The fjord view, outdoor patio and our entrees made our dinner memorable. The blackened cod filet and rack of lamb were divine. Everything tasted fantastic, the local beer complimented our entrees. Portions were good. The location of the restaurant is a short walk from the marina. Quiet n tranquil!!!

Delicious club sandwich, and check out the view!

So glad I booked this place because it was a nice break away from the stressful and crowded Norway in a Nutshell tour. It's a 2 mi / 45 min scenic walk to Flåm, where you can explore the small town that includes a free museum, some seafood places, a Coop grocery store, and a nice view of the head of a fjord. It's around $7 to take the Flamsbana from Håreina to Flåm. I would suggest walking to town and then taking the train back, or if you're up to it - walking both ways. This place is a great escape from tourists (and society, in general). It was so peaceful, tranquil, and completely unreal to be able to walk outside and read a book on a hammock with the cleanest air around me and the mountains as a backdrop. Our host was incredibly wonderful and sweet. She even fed us some of her homemade flat bread. She was considerate enough to send us a message saying that she wouldn't be in when we arrived, so she made arrangements for us to check in otherwise. The apt is so cute and was perfect for my girlfriend and myself. I think it'd be a great getaway for a small group or family of 4. The beds are queen-sized, and there's even a small kitchen if you ever want to cook your own meal. Plates, glasses, and eating utensils are provided. There was even tea bags, instant coffee, and a kettle for use. The laundry machine isn't very user friendly, but the user manual is provided. It definitely works, but can take a while. Linens and towels are not provided and can be rented. She just asks that you wash your dishes and throw out the garbage before you check out. Also! Her daughter has a forest cat that roams around the front of the apartments. She's sweet, friendly, and not afraid of people. Just a warning for those who are allergic.
