I seem to be adept at accidentally finding parks. This is about the fourth small park I have found in this area when just wandering around for a walk on a nice warm day.
Flynn's Piece is very small--it's more a field, really, than a park, but it makes a good place to walk your dog, and I suppose if you want a quiet park for a picnic this would be a good choice since there are no benches and no playground, which probably means fewer people will frequent this park over the other parks in this area.
I like the name. It makes me wonder who it was named after, and why? And the Flynn bit, naturally, makes me think of Robin Hood due to Errol Flynn's notorious role in the old black and white film. (But I always preferred Basil Rathbone as Sir Guy!) read more
