Tree removal was long overdue. I went thru the Valpak coupon mailer and picked a few places that looked promising and would give a free estimate within a few days. After collecting some quotes, Elite Arborist was the top pick. When they pulled up I noticed their motto is "Exceeding Your Expectations." They did. I would actually give them an extra star if I could because the crew busted their...ahem, "chops". (I have more tree puns if needed.) It was an all day job and after watching how strenuous it was, I've decided to never complain about washing dishes again. I also tipped the crew although each one said it wasn't necessary. Quite a few neighbors stopped by to chat and enjoy the show. It was fascinating. You could see the trimmer's years of experience in how fast and how expertly they handled some towering maples. (A 4 foot diameter stump was pretty impressive to me.) They cleaned up thoroughly afterwards. Now with so much space I'm thinking of planting a small wisteria (tree form) in spring. After the trees came down, my brother took a look at the backyard. Now some of the interior renovation debris (waiting to be hauled away) is more visible and he said the place looked like "Sanford & Son." I'm still highly amused (while simultaneously slightly chagrined) by that comment. He then proceeded to take some leftover logs and rocks and constructed a TTF which he rode his mountain bike over. I have to admit I rode over it too. Both scheduling and work were done in a timely manner and I'm pretty confident it was a fine deal. Their name fits and I do positively recommend Elite Arborist.

He did everything he said he would do and did it to exacting standards. His and his crew's work was just outstanding. We built our house 22 years ago. From the jump we had trouble with one of our retaining walls. It cracked as soon as it was built but the builder assured us it was 'just a shrinkage crack'. It was also so big it should have had rebar installed but he didn't to cut corners. We've tried for years to get someone to fix it. Including one individual who took our money and ran No one wanted to do it because it was an in between job, not big, but not small. We couldn't find anyone. Along came Craig. He told his plan of how he would remove the old broken wall and replace it. AND HE DID IT EXACTLY AS HE SAID HE WOULD! What a joy to find someone so dedicated. But the bacon on this sandwich was the price. Incredible! No deposit or money up front! He just said "pay me when it's finished." I hired Cournaya's Landscaping in Spring 2022. I purchased (roughly) 60 ton of Yellow (white)…read moreLimestone. When the first load was dumped I questioned the workers as the rock did not appear to be white as I had expected. I was told it was the correct rock and the discoloration was due to it being moist, so they set about spreading it. I received two (2) more truck loads. Upon inspection and comparison to my neighbors Yellow Limestone it was clear I had not received the correct rock. I talked to the supervisor and he now informed me, that yes I am correct this is not the correct rock and he had noticed it while spreading the first load. The driver confirmed it was was not Yellow Limestone prior to dumping his second load. The supervisor instructed him to dump the second load and proceed to get the 3rd (last load). I was told the mistake was because there normal supplier was out of rock so they used a different supplier. I was offered a very modest reduction was nothing more then the regular price of the cheaper rock they installed. I did not accept the discount and just wanted what I had paid for. I wanted and paid for Yellow Limestone so we agreed they would top the rock with the correct material. The Yellow Limestone that was used to top my drive was mostly if not entirely pulverized Yellow Limestone comprised of very small pieces (maybe 1/2") and basically dust and was was topped with less than 1" of the correct stone. Now much of the top layer, being so small has worked it way down so now my drive is a mixture of Gray and Yellow (White) rock. So in short even though they knew it was not the materiel I had paid for or wanted they took it upon themselves to apply it anyway. SO they were more focused on getting the job done, even if it wasn't what I had purchased. I expect the top layer was nothing more then the dust and small particles of what there normal supplier had run out of. I am being presumptuous here as I have no idea where they got the top layer or why is just small parts and dust. I did call but got a response something of the nature of "that is what they loaded". Cournaya's admitted they were responsible for the mistake but to do this day I am still disappointed in the fact I never got what I was paid for nor was an adjustment that might offset the error. I have contacted other companies to see what I can do to get my drive the way I had originally paid Cournaya's and my only option is to have my drive scrapped, the new rock removed and then replaced with what I had paid for.

We had a larger job; several acres requiring significant leveling for drainage and in preparation for landscaping services. We also needed our long driveway leveled, a new portion constructed and limestone covering it. Additionally, many boulders needed repositioning. Gary was great. He spent many days at our home and actually did more than originally agreed upon without increasing his original quote. He was able to accommodate our schedule and worked extremely well with our landscaper, who was also impressed with his work. It was amazing how he shaped our property. Our driveway was beyond our expectations. Gary is a great guy and a true professional. I would recommend him highly for any driveway, excavating, grading and/or retaining wall projects.
