This is such a kewl truck stop. Not until recently did I go inside they have a whole gift shop area behind the food area before Denny's. It was definitely a treat, just their T-shirts alone, hilarious!! They also have glass curio cabinets with delicate glass curiosities. Next time you're in the area mosey on in. How did they hire such a great group of customer service girls. First time walking into this facility and was greeted with a smile. They were very welcoming not one not two but four girls. I especially enjoyed the conversation with the lady at the Cinnabon counter with her dramatic lashes. With this welcoming feeling definitely I will come back when I'm around this area. The denny's was the best service I've had in years. However security is walking around shining flashlights in the cabs of trucks to verify paid parking. They have a tow truck ready to pull soon as they verify nonpayment. Which is fine for those that didn't pay. But if I pay, I expect security not to shine lights in my cab if my ticket is in the window with big numbers for the date. Finding parking is hard enough. Stopped here to get a cinnabon. Received a free pizza slice coupon. Prior to my visit, I decided upon getting a slice of pizza. The pizza was hot and fresh, Crust was easy to chew. Very tasty & flavorful. Store is full of novelties and clean. Lines are often long, but they moved quickly. The cinnabons are fresh, and moist. Flying j is one of my favorites for truck stops. But this one was the worst one I have ever been to. 90% of the parking lot is reserve only and very little free parking. During the night people walk the trucks asking for money money, waking u up. I tried to buy premium internet to update my gps, and the cashier forgot to scan my rewards card to give me the internet credit. I called the number on the bottom of the receipt and the told me to get a refund l. I spoke to the manager inside and she told me they can't do refunds. Idk how u can't give a refund of $20 but whatever. Overall, absolutely horrible. Don't stop there if u can avoid it. read more

First off, the two times we went into get unsweetened tea, it was sweet. I absolutely hate sweet tea and was so irritated when I walked the 1/4 of a mile to the store and walked out with SWEET TEA! How hard is it, really? Secondly, this is a typical Flying J. The Texas souvenirs are outrageously expensive, the coffee is sub-par and the deli food is so high in saturated fat and grease, I feel a heart-attack coming on just looking at it. Avoid the pizza at all costs. It tastes like the cardboard that it comes in. Even though this place has 250 parking spots for truck-drivers, it fills up FAST because it is the ONLY truck-stop in this area. Stupid, right? I know. Like I said before, there are 250 parking spots for truckers and they are COMPLETELY full, so please explain why there was ONE cashier working? There were about 20 of us in line, some even out the door whilst two female cashiers were giggling and joking from behind the counter. When one of them finally decided to open the register, she was annoyed that we weren't lining up fast enough. Horrible customer service. I wish I could say that we won't be back, but we have deliveries right down the road from this Flying hook, so unfortunately, we'll be back. If you aren't a truck-driver, AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE. Dropped in this place for some snacks and a quick bathroom break. The restrooms were clean and well stocked. The rest of the store was also clean...the staff was very friendly. They carry about anything u will need for a road trip...also a nice zippy of gifts and Texas style accessories. As I paid and walked out I noticed that they carried a whole supply of breakfast items, sandwiches and snacks. They all looked pretty good and fresh. If u find yourself in need of a quick stop along the way down the road I recommend this particular Flying J. read more

Location 15919 North Freeway Houston TX One of our company drivers went inside and ask permission to drop a trailer in a parking spot for 1 hour. He was told " no problem" when he returned the trailer was towed. The towing service found every excuse they could to hold the trailer, Including having the company legal department sign a paper that the driver was a rep of the company. Then the towing company required the signature to be Notarized. The Flying J was contacted. All they had to say was that the lady working inside did not have authority to tell the driver it was okay to drop the trailer. The towing company has a contract with Flying J and patrol the parking lot looking for opportunities to tow drop trailers. The Flying J manager acknowledged, they know the towing company goes way too far coming up with excuses and getting a little crazy with paperwork requirements but the Flying J did not get involved. This towing company is contracted by the Flying J and the Flying J takes no responsibility to make sure they are providing a service legally and within reason. read more

Horrible!! This was the most uncomfortable I have ever been going to a gas station. First off when you enter the area the roads are full of cracks and pot holes. When going inside, I saw people standing right in front of the entrance smoking cigarettes and being loud. I actually drove 30 minutes to come here because I never heard of a Flying J and just wanted to check it out. There were people shouting and cursing outside. Someone's car popped a fluid when they opened there hood and it got all over my car. Then I wanted to go into my gas buddy account and log the stations gas price, and it wasn't even indexed. It had the most expensive gas price in my area. I filled up my tank anyway because I was there, the gas pumps at least worked. When I entered the building I was not impressed. I first went into the bathroom and there was toilet paper all over the floor, the toilets look like they never get cleaned, but I used it and it at least flushed. Someone at the cash register welcomed me in, but that's the only positive thing I experienced. I went and looked around and saw damaged signs and it was a pretty big place but it was just like any other gas station but it was connected to a Denny's. I was hungry and wanted to order something but nothing on the menu seemed healthy so I left after drinking a water. I am hoping they fix up this place, it felt extremely ghetto. read more

My truck was towed from the parking spot because i went to walmart to send money for my kids and wife i ask the store manager y did they tow my truck she told me thats my problem for dropping my trailer and that she has a sign i ask her to show it to me and the security guard took me and the sign gone now i have to pay 560 dollars to take it out than i waited in there lot and the same towing company try to tow a truck while the driver in it have video to prove it and picture of the no sign i will go to loves from now on they dont do loyal customers like that i spent lots of money in flying j and pilot since 18 years thank u for ur ways of treating ur customers read more

I was trying to get information on Cinnabons and the person answering the phone (who took forever after 3 calls) would not enunciate her words. Asked 4 times the same question. Eventually when I understood she kept talking to me rudely and eventually hung up on me. If I find who it is I will go out of my way to ensure she gets fired or at very least heavily reprimanded. While traveling during a move in a 20 ft uhaul truck, I stopped at this location to rest a bit and have a meal at the Denny's located inside. While sitting in the 20 ft uhaul before going inside, I was approached by the security guard who asked how long I'd be there and told me that management did not want me parking there taking up 2 spots in a mostly empty parking lot, nevermind the big rig tow truck taking up 4 spots. I told him that I would move and rolled my window up and 2 minutes later management showed up telling me to move so I asked her was I not allowed to park and go inside to eat especially since I didn't think I was breaking any law or any posted rule. She turned her back to me and ordered the security guard to call for the sherriff's dept, which he happily obliged and told them that he asked me to move back and I refused and that they wanted me off the property. I have been a trucker for 20 years and have seen many campers, uhauls, buses and other large vehicles in pilot/j parking lots but have never seen or heard of a travel center not being traveler friendly. I will not visit this location ever again and I hope this serves as notice to anyone traveling, to not stop here either. I am seriously going to explore my options as to any steps that I can take to see if my rights were violated in any way read more
