Today however, the Exxon Mobile at the corner opened up. No lines. Thank goodness the whole waiting in line for gas thing is over since more stations are opening up. Yes... gas is expensive. Yes... the days of 1.26 gas prices are gone. Yes... blame whatever and whoever you want to the rise in gas prices. Yes... gas stations are ripping off customers by charging .30 to .40 more than what it was before the storm. It is what it is. No... this particular gas station did NOT raise their prices. In fact, it's exactly the same price as it was BEFORE Ike. $3.39. It didn't move. This is how much they charged last Thursday. This is how much they're charging today. Thank you for not charging $3.69 or $3.89 like some stations. I'd also like to add how spacious and clean, extremely clean this Exxon is. Everything on the shelves were in perfect order and their floors were super clean. They also have music playing on speakers outside while you're pumping gas. How refreshing. AND their low carb Monsters are still 3 for $5.

I knocked on the glass and said, "no beans please" and she ignored me and started scooping beans. So, I yelled, 'NO BEANS PLEASE!" She looked up, smiled, and spread the beans on the tortilla! I was like, WTF?!?!?!?! So I told her, "I said, NO BEANS!" And she was all like, 'oh? you don't like beans? Beans come with taco" At this point, I was facepalming myself. Anyway, she grabbed another fresh tortilla and proceeded to tell me that they didn't have potatoes so she's going to give me bacon instead. At this point, I told her that I wanted chicken. And she was like, "yes, but no potatoes, only bacon, okay?" So I thought that the taco would come with potatoes or whatever. So she put eggs and bacon and proceeded to make me BREAKFAST TACOS! I was all like, I wanted CHICKEN! And at this point, she was all, "No. This is breakfast taco" Well, NO SH!T SHERLOCK! At this point I just grabbed the tacos and proceeded to the cashier to pay. So for this Stripes... WILL GO BACK FOR GAS. NEVER FOR TACOS!

When it comes down to it, when a self service has station and store serves its purpose, you don't…read morereally notice it. But when it's a bad one, you totally notice. This Shell station in the Willowbend area of Houston serves its purpose. With 16 has pumps and multiple diesel pumps, waiting is a big issue even at busy times. It's usually dead but well lighted at night. The store is reasonably clean. Their gas pumps are all wheelchair friendly with lower card readers and pumps but they also have signs saying they will provide full service at no extra cost to anyone with a disabled placard by honking twice or using the intercom. As someone in a wheelchair this really pleases me. That all said, they were 10 cents per gallon more expensive than right across the street.

I like coming here due to the fact that the location is convenient because it is between the…read morebeltway feeder, and 249. The only problem I have with coming here is actually leaving. It takes forever because of the constant flow of cars packed up near the traffic light. Then you have to go through the turning lane, and be lucky enough to have the person in next lane over to let you in. It's a constant battle leaving here... not my favorite but I deal with it.
