When I travel Flying J's is one of two consistent truck stops I stop at for gas, soda and snacks. This is one of the smaller locations that is much quieter and not crazy busy but still has all the items you search for when traveling. I found the restroom clean and fully stocked with paper and soap.
As you enter, the World Famous Cinnabon Rolls aroma fill the store. Hard to resist and I usually don't. If their open they'll heat your rolls for you and you can pay at the Cinnabon island. If closed, use Flying J's microwave or they heat up well the next day. You can find the rolls on Cinnabon stands by the buffet/cashier or by the Cinnabon island.
The store had all the amenities with coolers of soda and beverages, coffee, snacks, fresh fruit, a nice display of cheese snacks, chips, a popular hot buffet and pizza options. There are indoor tables so you can dine in or patio seating weather permitting. The problem I've had with a few Flying J's is they get so busy they don't refill the soda cups for hours after they run out. Their honest about it when you ask if they'll refill the cups. This more so with one or two stores than most. Regardless, I'm usually stopping for a 52 oz or at least a 44 oz soda and if I can't get a large cup it means an extra stop.
All the souvenirs are here with sunglasses, sandals, hats, t-shirts and stuffed animals. They carry a lot of truck supplies and phone accessories.
There are 4 2-sided gas pumps in a well lite area and a diesel island. The pump I was using wouldn't take my card at pump so I had to go in to pay. Line moved quickly, friendly cashiers, apologized, ran my card without incident. The window washer tubs were filled at my pump with water but appeared extremely dirty.
If you prefer a sit down restaurant Huddle House is attached to Flying J. I've eaten at Huddle House several time and found fast service, decent, affordable food with a diverse menu serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Do remember to pull into a parking space after pumping gas if you're going indoors. It certainly helps to keep the lines from forming at the pumps. read more
