There were several park structures near the pavilion, from swings, slides, spider web jungle gyms. There were two buildings near that I believe you could rent out for parties. Bathrooms are a stones throw and were air conditioned and clean. We could see the skate park from where we were along with additional play areas, across the street you can see the splash pad. There is "story walk" trail you can take that leads to or from the Library situated at the top of the hill. Definitely take a stop at the carousal if it's open it's only a dollar a person to ride, and really quite a splendor to oh and ah over. Tons of shade, great place for a picnic, and to get some energy out. Can't wait to visit again with my family.

My nephew was extremely excited!!I noticed that everything was thoroughly thought out. The entrance gate is slightly heavy (two to pass through. Other area were the same (heavy gates to prevent kids from entering the paved areas without permission & help. There were several areas to play: sensory areas, sand box (large), agility, strength training for the littles, and a cute township area where kids can ride (provided mini bikes) bikes or scooters in the "city". The imagination stations were adorable. Most areas were covered well. They had several restrooms and water stations. Seating for birthdays and such. I didn't have time to take pictures. But it's true to the website. I highly recommend it!

My four-year-old granddaughter was enjoying it and after her, some 13-year-olds were enjoying it. It's very well-made, very safe and very fun. They have a shopping area for them to pretend -- along with their own personal H-E-B! My granddaughter really enjoyed pretending to shop. I think that's a secret word here, there's a lot of pretending going on here! I highly recommend this park. It's important to know that animals are not allowed unless it's a service animal. There's a lot of kids running and yelling and playing and laughing. This is not the place for you if you're going to a park to read a book. Growing up in the country, parks were pretty much the only place that you could go to without…read morepacking a bag and going to the city to take your kids to the zoo, amusement park, etc. Henderson Park, however, holds a special place in my heart because of the family reunions that used to be held here. May was our month to come together and celebrate family and food (lots of food) and get reacquainted. Unfortunately, for years, Henderson Park didn't receive the maintenance needed to make it plausible to continue having reunions here anymore, but I was shocked to see the upgrades to Henderson on a recent visit to Brenham. Lots of tlc has been poured into this park to revitalize it. In fact, I didn't even know how much history was apart of the park until I read the newly installed landmark signage that designates Henderson as a Lone Star Legacy Park, the highest honor that a park can receive according to the Texas Recreational and Parks Society. The designation was received in 2022, but the park is actually older than Fireman's Park across the street, which received the Lone Star Legacy Park honor in 2014. I'm just glad that this historical landmark has been restored and rejuvenated with a new venue with AC, which is a great update because my family use to place screens on the windows and run fans when we used Henderson back in the day. You'll also enjoy a bbq pit on the premises as well as a covered partition with picnic style benches as well as playgrounds, basketball courts and a baseball field which has a extraordinary place in history because Henderson (which was the park designated for African Americans during segregation) gave the Negro Leagues (and that is what they were called, so I am not going to change history here) a place and space to play. I am so glad that the baseball park remains a vital part of the park as well as the addition of a waterpark around the entryway to Henderson. Spacious and attractive, a day at Henderson provides some relaxation, relief, and literally a breath of fresh air if you visit. I'm excited to bring the family back together post covid to relaunch our reunions at Henderson in the near future, but I give pause and recognize how great it is that history still holds a special place in people's hearts and minds. Henderson Park will forever be a part of history. Let us not only celebrate it but cherish its presence and preservation to keep history alive in our community.

Garey Park is an absolute gem!…read more We celebrated my son's birthday at Garey Park a couple of months ago, and I can't say enough good things about the experience. From the moment we booked to the minute we packed up, everything was smooth, easy, and honestly kind of perfect. The park is stunning and has so much to do. So much space, beautiful scenery, and tons of options for kids to run wild . My son had the best time celebrating with his friends. Between the playground, splash pad, and shaded picnic areas, the kids were entertained the entire time. No one was bored, not even for a second. There's something really special about this place. It feels like you're in the middle of nature but with all the modern conveniences nearby. It made the whole party feel relaxed and joyful.

It has a full playground with swings, a tennis court, swimming pool, (I think you need passes for the pool and tennis court), volleyball court, basketball court, picnic tables, and even a paved walkway that wraps around the park. There is plenty of open grassy space to run around, throw a frisbee. It's also dog-friendly with poop bags and a drinking fountain. The parking lot is a decent size although I could see it getting filled up very quickly for an event. Speaking of, this is also where they hosted this past "Hairy Man festival."

This is especially true when their dogs take a doodle but the owner doesn't pick it up. Really nasty in my opinion. Nothing towards the city but cmon guys, pick up the poop.
