In the search for a reasonably priced gym with good operating hours, I stumbled upon Flye Fit, and I'm so lucky that I did.
Flye Fit is a 24 hour gym with a good selection of machines, wonderful number of racks, and weights. They've got a plethora of bars and olympic weights for you to choose from, and what I really like is that they've got 7 racks for you to lift in. Not only that, but even when it's incredibly busy, the people here are extremely friendly; so if you wanna work in, all you need to do is ask.
There are, however, a few downsides to this gym; one being that some of the equipment is too high for me to reach. For example, the lateral pulldown bar is too high, so I can't go up in weight to work my back. I literally have to put it at a lower weight to jump up, pull down the bar, and safely secure both hands on it. Thankfully the last few times I was here, someone was nice enough to give me a spot while I went up in weight.
Another thing that's disappointing is that the equipment here is incredibly dirty. There are no stations for you to clean and wipe down the bars after you use them, and people don't usually walk around with little hand towels either. I kid you not, every single time I'm done with a session, I go into the changing room to wash my hands and the sink is filled with the layer of dirt that has just come off my hands.
If you walk into the gym, you'll notice that there's not a lot of floor space to stretch and warm up, especially if there's a class going on; however, I've never had trouble finding/making myself a spot. Also, the racks in the back have a large enough floor space so you can do some oly lifts there--fitting around 6 people, including weights.
The only few things this place is missing are hip abductor machines, which disappointed me since my hips are usually tighter than the rest of my body (and if you don't stretch out your hips, your range of motion decreases in squats and deadlifts). The other, would be a sauna. I didn't realize how spoiled I was by the gyms in California when I found out there was no sauna. It's usually part of my pre-warmup and post-cooldown routine. But hey, not everyone needs a sauna.
All in all, I'm happy I found this place. There are a few things I'd like to see improve around here, but in the meantime, you can catch me here jumping for a workout--literally!
TIP: If you forget your protein or supplements, they've got a vending machine for Quest Bars, protein powder, as well as a shaker. But I'd highly recommend you put back-ups in your gym bag, since no one wants to pay nearly €4 for a bar.
