More like a feather weight placed on your palm. It also looked like he had Cheeto dust around his mouth. I was seen by a PA who wanted to take me off my current meds which weren't even at a therapeutic dose and place me on an expensive med. there Are 3 tiers of caplyta, 10, 21 and 42 mg. I was only on 200 Lamictal and 50 seroquel before attempting to change to the 21 mg Caplyta suggested by the dr. It was too strong and I should have been started on the 10mg. I stopped it and called the office and asked for the 10mg. I wasn't going to be able to make it to the office for samples so they said they would put it in the mail if they could and would let me know but no one called me to let me know and I don't check the mail regularly and because I wasn't contacted with an update the meds sat in 100 degree weather for a few days. Then I had a waste of an appointment and was told to stay on my regular meds since I'm doing ok on them and I'm like why did we bother doing the other med? could it possibly be for money? Their office gets kickbacks for prescribing the hot new meds? moving forward, my PA called me a week after the last phone appointment to check how I was doing with the increase in my regular meds and she mentioned that I had gotten Out of the hospital recently... that was 3 years ago. This office does not listen, does not communicate and prob prescribes crap for free lunches from drug reps. The Dr. is a goonish character and I don't trust anyone who offers a handshake with no follow through. I would not recommend this office.

My family of four have been patients of Dr. Tran's since 2008. Let me tell you a few things about…read moreher. She is compassionate which you will read in other reviews. She does NOT rush. EVER. She listens. ALWAYS. I usually have a long list of questions and she answers every single one of them while brainstorming and thinking out of the box, which I appreciate. I wanted a doctor who would do that. That's why I've stuck with her. She runs on time and doesn't double-book. She also emphasizes a healthy lifestyle. She's willing to discuss what you eat, and how important nutrition is for your body, and getting the weight off if you need to. Listen, I've got one son who hates doctors, but he loves her. That says a lot! Dr. Tran and her staff, Quinn and formerly Sylvia whom we will miss so much have not only taken care of our family medically but have carried us through some of the toughest personal times in our lives. When we enter that office Sylvia and Quinn ALWAYS greet us with a smile and ask us how our boys are doing (by name) and Dr. Tran always asks my husband and me about our family life and how our sons are doing even now that they are grown. During the pandemic, her office has done an outstanding job of making me feel comfortable going in for bloodwork. I drive up and call to alert Quinn that I'm there for my appointment. She opens the door for me. She is masked and protected and so am I. I go in, sit down, have my blood drawn, and then she opens the door for me to go out. So it's pretty much touch-free! And the whole office smells like a very nice light hint of bleach which tells me they are doing their job of sanitizing the place which I personally love! To wrap this up, if you are looking for an outstanding doctor in the Round Rock community who thinks outside the box, truly cares about your health and your family, doesn't rush, runs on time, listens well, likes to answer questions, and has the sweetest office staff ever then please give Dr. Xuan Tran a call at 512-733-6464

I have to say, She is the most caring, considerate, intelligent and direct to the point . She spends a lot of time with her patients and doesn't prescribe unnecessary medications. Her patients trusted her with her care. Dr. Tran is really big on including complimentary and alternative medicine into her medical practice, promotes healthy living style ( exercises, diet, and screens for diseases), which most physicians don't have the time for nowadays, but this is the best way to get keep people staying healthy. Her diagnoses are very appropriate and accurate . She always makes sure her chronically ill patients are up to date with important lab works and follow up with medications to ensure they don't cause any adverse affects. I feel that her patients are very well cared for and they're very fortunate to have her as their primary doctor. The way she treats her patients showed that money is absolutely not the motive; She does this because she wants to help!

So Advanced Pain Care also houses Advanced Rheumatology Care. I find it necessary to leave this…read morereview here because I almost canceled my appointment for the rheumatology side because of what I read on the Pain Care page. I have been in remission from psoriatic arthritis for about 3 1/2 years. After a battle with the flu and bronchitis my immune system was shot. I ended up having a flare up in my knee; swelling, stiffness, and loss of mobility. I could only walk with the assistance of a cane or crutches. My husband and I have lived in Austin for 1 1/2 years and (because I had been in remission for quite a while) I never found a Rheumatologist here. I was in a panic when every single rheumatology office in Austin was booked through spring. Advanced Care was the last call on my list and I was thrilled that they could see me right away. Yes, it's a pain clinic and there's an eclectic crowd of patients, but I cannot say enough about how great the rheumatologist, Dr. Ahmed, was!!! He took a different approach to addressing my flare up than my rheumatologist back home and at first I was skeptical. However, I was 22 when I was diagnosed and am only 28 now; I only ever had one rheumatologist and never thought to question him because of the hospital he works for. After lots of research I realized that Dr. Ahmed's approach was really the safer one. Dr. Ahmed prescribed steroids and was hesitant to perform a joint aspiration right away. I've learned that the aspiration is seen as invasive treatment and can jeopardize the joint. Yes I was in pain and uncomfortable (Dr. Ahmed would have prescribed whatever to address that, I'm just pretty oppositional to painkillers) but in the end I am happier about Dr. Ahmed's approach. I'm so pleased with him as a doctor that I would leave 5 stars. The only reason why I didn't was the wait time on my follow up appointment (for 9:40AM and didn't get into a room until 10:30) My husband and I are leaving Austin, otherwise I would have very likely continued seeing Dr. Ahmed for my arthritis. I just want anyone looking for a rheumatologist to know that you can get great care here. Don't be dissuaded by the reviews geared toward the pain management side!
