I stopped by Floyd County Pawn last week to sell a few gold pieces - some old rings, a broken chain, and a small gold coin I inherited. I had checked a couple of other places in Rome beforehand, and I can confidently say this shop offered the highest payout by far. Their transparent and professional the process was quite impressive. The staff, especially Josh, weighed each item right in front of me, tested the purity with an XRF machine, and explained the current gold market price and how they calculate their offer. There were no games or pressure tactics, which I really appreciated. They even separated the 10k from the 14k items and offered a fair rate for each category. I walked out with cash in under 15 minutes, and it was honestly more than I expected. Also worth noting - the shop was clean, well-lit, and had a professional vibe. Not what you might expect from a typical pawn shop. They seem to focus heavily on gold buying, and they clearly know what they're doing. If you've got gold to sell in the Rome area, this is the place to go. No nonsense, just a straightforward, honest deal. read more

My son has been begging for a gaming console for months, but new ones are ridiculously expensive. I decided to check out Floyd County Pawn to see if they had used electronics. Walking in, I noticed the store had a good selection, neatly displayed, and staff were friendly and approachable. I asked about a PlayStation 4 they had listed, and the employee immediately brought it over, inspected it, and tested it to make sure it worked. They even included the controllers and cables, and explained which games were compatible. I appreciated the transparency--they didn't try to hide anything or sell me a broken unit. We ended up buying the console, and my son couldn't have been happier. What I liked most was that the staff made the purchase feel easy and risk-free. They explained their return policy clearly and offered tips on maintaining the console. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'll definitely be returning for future electronics purchases. read more

I recently decided to sell some gold jewelry I no longer wear, and I'm so glad I chose Floyd County Pawn. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel comfortable and confident. They carefully examined each piece, weighed it, and explained the karat and market value in a way that was easy to understand. I appreciated that they were honest and transparent, they didn't try to lowball me or pressure me into selling more than I wanted to. They explained how the gold market affects pricing and why some pieces were worth more than others. After reviewing everything together, they offered me a fair price, which I gladly accepted. The process was quick and professional. Paperwork was simple, and they paid me on the spot. I really love how courteous and respectful they were throughout the entire transaction. I left feeling like I had made the right decision and would definitely return if I ever have more gold or valuables to sell. read more

I came to get an estimate on some old jewerly I had at home. The store had a nice variety of items to browse through. Everything seemed organized and it was interesting to see the different items they had available. You never really know what you'll find in a pawn shop and that's part of what makes it fun. When it came time to have my jewerly looked at, the process was simple. The employee explained everything clearly and took the time to answer my questions. I appreciated that they were patient and professional throughout the transaction. I felt comfortable the entire time, which is very important when you're bringing in personal items. Whether you're looking to buy, sell or simply browse around, Floyed is worth checking out. Very smooth experience from start to finish. I would gladly return! Thanks! read more

One of the nicest and and cleanest pawn shops that I have been in before! It's not cluttered where your having to step over stuff or dig through stuff to find what your looking for. They have a great selection on tools, jewelry, guns, electronics, and musical equipment. They are very reasonable on their prices and when your pawning or selling they beat every other pawnshops offers in town! If you have something to pawn or sell and are in need of some cash quick, this is the place I would recommend!!! They always go above and beyond to help their customers, this is the only pawn shop I do business with anymore!!! Thanks Floyd County Pawn for showing value in your customers first! read more

I recently needed some extra cash while waiting on a client payment, so I visited Floyd County Pawn to inquire about a pawn loan on a gold necklace and a few electronics. The staff carefully evaluated each item, explained how the pawn process worked, and answered every question I had without making me feel rushed. What I appreciated most was how transparent they were throughout the entire process. Everything was clearly explained, including the loan terms and redemption process. The transaction was completed quickly, and I walked out with the funds I needed that same day. read more

I wouldn't give this place more specifically the guy running it that drives a Mercedes, a one star if I didn't have to. A complete know-it-all, smart elec, jerk!. after cutting one of my rings to verify that it was real, he decided because I was asking about how the testing of it is and when he said one ring was 10 K and it was stamped at 14 K and he didn't like that I questioned that. I simply wanted to be informed. I'm surprised this guy gets any business. He'll never get mine!!! The worst ever. Dude needs his tail wooped. read more

Hands down the worst pawn shop in Rome! Don't ever go to this place, unless you want to get ripped off and lose money. The little cocky man that runs the place is a crook, a thief and extremely unprofessional. There's dust all on the shelves and they hardly have anything at all in stock as far as guns or tools. Makes you wonder what else goes on in there. I have my suspicions. Only reason why I gave one star is because that's the least I could give. Too bad there isn't negative stars to give. read more

Visited this new pawn shop on 5/19. When I walked in I was amazed at how beautiful the shop is! They have an amazing selection of jewelry and I wanted it all! The guys were very friendly and I was paid a high amount on my gold. I frequently go to all the local pawn shops in the area and have pawned my gold with most of them. This was the highest amount I have ever gotten. Thanks Floyd County Pawn! I will be back and will bring all my friends. read more

Thank you so much for being honest and explaining how selling gold works. He even showed me his scale, so I knew exactly what I had. Most shops are not transparent when buying gold this shop took every step to make sure I knew exactly what I had and what he would pay was more than fair considering. I walked in with a general understanding of what gold is worth and walked out feeling like a jeweler lol. Hope this helps great shop read more
