My flower order was completely incorrect. The woman who wrote it down did not listen to what I had asked for, so my delivery was nowhere near what I expected. I ordered a $150 custom mixed bouquet and was charged $200 for them to only send 6 stems of hydrangeas. Not to mention they delivered the order to the wrong house and then tried to blame me! Incredibly rude customer service any time I communicated with this florist. Awful. read more

This shop looked like a good place to order a dish garden for my son's birthday. My conversation with the lady who answered my call seemed to have a grasp on what I wanted. . .a typical dish garden with a variety of plants My order was taken and within an hour or so it was delivered to his house. He texted me a message and incorporated a picture of the item sent him. It is anything but a "dish garden". It is simply a couple of small plants stuck in an oversized cereal bowl and charged $125 with delivery. I am so embaraassed that the gift sent to him, in my name, should have received so little regard by the people running this shop. My advise is to STAY AWAY! read more

Flowers on Chestnut takes the uncertainty out of sending flowers. In five+ years on numerous occasions, have NEVER been disappointed by what ended up being delivered. Not sure any other florist I've ever used has so consistently delivered a top notch experience. The most recent delivery requested last week to arrive between 10 and 2 on a particular day was there by 10:30 and generated rave reviews as always. Just be prepared to open your wallet wide--think Greenwich, CT kind of pricing and then add a few bucks--worth it, though! read more

Ordered 2 bouquets within the past month for my island friends. I could not be any happier. Julia was fantastic and very helpful over the phone both times. Both arrangements were absolutely stunning. They customized a pink and purple rose arrangement for my God Daughters 4th bday since I couldn't be there to celebrate with her. The majority of flowers in my wedding bouquet were dead and completely wrong. My guests were shocked at how poorly the bouquet was done. I was in several times to ensure they would have what I wanted. When I called, they claimed the flowers they put in were in poor condition, but instead of communicating that to me earlier, they filled the remainder of the bouquet with flowers I specifically asked they avoid. I wouldn't even give them one star but I guess I needed to so that I could post this review. I ordered a floral crown for my friend who was having a big birthday to be presented to her at our annual Girl's get together at a restaurant on Nantucket. I was very specific in what I asked for and the crown that came to the restaurant was the exact opposite. I asked for something very sophisticated and full with beautiful flowers as my friend is 5'9". We arrived at the restaurant and the hostess brought it over and put it on the table circling the salt and pepper. It resembled something you might find on that old television show...Little House on the Prairie...I wanted to die! Fortunately, my friend was very gracious, but it was absolutely not what I wanted...I am not at all creative but I can assure you that I could have made a lovelier one than Flowers. A couple of days later I called the store to express my disappointment. Both managers were not at all accommodating, never apologized and told me their staff thought it looked really good. Upon further pressing I asked for my money back and they said no but maybe they could offer me something the next time I visit Nantucket.....No thanks Flowers on Chestnut, I won't be back.....I am so thankful that it was just a floral crown and not a wedding....YIKES!!!! read more

Called to have some flowers delivered to my niece for her birthday. The woman on the phone was less than friendly. When asked if they provided any Mylar balloons I got a sharp "no" as my answer. Ok, no problem. The reason for my low rating is the fact that I was told that it was a MINIMUM order of $75 plus delivery fees!!! What a rip off. read more

Never, never have I been to such a place as this. I mean, flowers shops are just flower shops, right? Not this one. Housed in a beautiful old Nantucket Colonial right downtown, this place is just stunning. 2 floors plus a beautiful outdoor garden. Live flowers, fake flowers, garlands, handmade greeting cards, chocolates, home accents, soaps and stuff. An amazing collection of orchids year round. And this HUGE collection of the most beautiful flowers. This place is amazing. Doing a wedding? I used Flowers on Chestnut, and they amazed me. We walked in and changed our whole color scheme. Their flowers are amazing (of course the do the flowers for all the major hotel properties on the island), and what they do? They decorated an arbor on the spot for us, looked amazing. Did all the flowers for all the tables, lapels, everything. This place continues to blow my mind. And its a florist!!! read more
