I make baskets as a hobby and have sold them at craft fairs. These baskets are beautifully crafted.

If you take an early boat over, we usually grab the 9:05 from Hyannis and that gives us plenty of time to walk through. Watch your step and footing. The roads are cobble stone and very hard, uneven and unforgiving. People tend to get a little pushy-shovey and the it's densely packed. Crafts, art, food stuff (honey, spices, etc.), and farm fresh vegetables grown on island when seasonable. It's great, but we've never bought any vegetables as we'd have to carry them all day. Buy an array of locally grown produce, from the expected to the unusual, as well as cut flowers and plants for your garden. Pick up some freshly made pasta, baked goods, honey or eggs while sipping an iced tea or coffee. Pick out a unique gift from the selection of handmade jewelry, textiles, pottery, stationary, and more. All vendors are required to be Nantucket residents, and all goods sold must be grown or produced on the island. There's often live music, a kids' activity table, and tables set aside for non-profit organizations. It's a lively and fun atmosphere, much like a street festival, and people are relaxed and friendly. Parking can be tough in this downtown location, so I recommend bringing your bike or hopping the shuttle bus.
