The bouquet looked beautiful when I left the store, and I was genuinely excited to bring it to the celebration. The flowers remained in my car inside my garage until delivery around 8:30 PM. The garage is typically around 55°F, possibly a little cooler on a cold day, but not freezing. When I arrived at the birthday gathering excited to present the bouquet and unwrapped it -- roughly four hours after pickup -- several of the main structural flowers, particularly the snapdragons and multiple pink spray roses, were already noticeably drooping. The Birds of Paradise and the main orange rose were still upright, but because the drooping flowers were central to the design, the overall presentation was clearly diminished. Over the next few hours that evening, the snapdragons bent further, the spray roses declined more, and some of the other blooms began to show visible drooping as well. I took photos that same night documenting the condition (attached). The shop is closed on Sundays. I returned Monday with those same-evening photos to discuss it. Before reviewing the photos, the owner repeatedly stated that I must have left the flowers outside in the freezing cold. She asked where I went after pickup. I explained that I went home and left them in my garage inside the car. She continued to insist they must have been left outside and said she could tell if that had happened. She declined to review the photos and said she would rather see the flowers in person, even though it was already several days later. By Tuesday, the bouquet had deteriorated to the point that it was discarded because it looked so poor. At that point, there was nothing left to physically bring back. I was not demanding a refund. I expected the situation to be evaluated before fault was assigned -- especially given that the decline occurred within hours, not days. Because of how this was handled, this business has lost a returning customer. In an area with many other florists who value customer relationships, I will be choosing to support one of them instead.
