We photographed a wedding last weekend at Columbia Winery. My only experience with her is seeing her work, so I can't attest to her as a person but I can say she did a wonderful job with the wedding flowers! As a photographer, I get super bummed when I see the flowers for the first time and they already look half dead! I was so happy to walk into the getting ready area and see a beautiful fresh bouquet, begging to get photographed while the bride finished getting her make up done. Karen was the florist for my wedding, and I honestly could not have expected a better experience. I came across Karen's work at the Everett Bridal show, which I attended with my sister who is a floral designer herself. When I saw Karen's flowers, I fell in love but I waited to hear my sister's expert opinion. Her response? "This is the one!" Karen's work was gorgeous, original--a feast for the eyes and nose. My wedding had a tree theme and took place in a rustic log hall, so I was looking for something a little different. Karen and her staff created gorgeous trees for each table, each different and lovely. She listened carefully and excitedly as I had talked to her about my vision for the bouquets--wild, natural, colorful--and her eventual creations almost made me cry, they were so lovely and so perfect. I cannot recommend her strongly enough. I've seen her traditional work...it's wonderful, but her originality and vision is what makes her work really stand out! read more

Wow! I can't believe that I was so blessed to have Karen be my florist. I wasn't even going to have a florist for my wedding and was going to try to go the DIY route... that was a mistake. About a month before my wedding I was overwhelmed with everything else I had to do and knew I HAD to get a florist. I searched the internet for florists, and finally landed on one close to my venue in Snohomish. I searched her website (http://www.flowersbykarenonline.com) and knew we had to meet. She didn't have an exact replica of what I wanted, but she showed extreme artistic ability in her creations, which is what I was looking for - something unique. When I called, we set up an appointment to meet and I already felt great about her. I had tons of pictures of what I wanted and when we first met, she immediately understood my vision...even though I couldn't exactly explain it, she knew. I wanted something unique and not the run-of-the-mill flowers. She can surely do more traditional flowers if that is your desire, but for me, I wanted something more creative as I am an artist myself. During that fist meeting, we bonded over music (my profession), our pasts and families, and the meeting ended up with me playing her stand-up piano, singing hymns together and almost 2 hours went by un-noticed. I couldn't believe it. I had a set budget of $750 (I know, hardly anything for flowers...) and got exactly what I wanted while working within that budget and my specifics ideas. She also told me that I could add to my order at any time (within reason) and I ended up adding more boutonnieres almost at the last minute with no problem. I completely trusted her after the first meeting and didn't talk to her once, save to confirm that we were still on for the day. I HIGHLY recommend Karen and her services. She bonds with her clients and knows how to create exactly what they want without much effort. read more

I recently went to flowersbykaren.com picked a product entered the delivery zip and saw the price of the product, delivery fee, service fee, and total tax....Wait a minute service fee? $3.00? I got curious looked at other sites the only one I found that had a service fee was cascadeflorists.com hmmm. In fact another website in monroe brags about not having any service charges on their site, they must know something. Should I call Karen? Naaa, I am sure she already has an answer prepared for this question. Then again maybe nobody has noticed. Why not just raise the delivery price $3.00 or the product price....hmmmm Something just bugs me about pocketing $3.00 for a service I am already paying for. I will go elsewhere. I reached her one afternoon as she was making a delivery-she pulled over to the side of the road to take my order.
